With three professional sports teams (hockey, baseball, and basketball), the West s largest soccer park, four Olympic-sized pools, Rabobank Arena, and Bakersfield Sports Village, we re sure to have a venue just right for your event. Each year we welcome thousands of participants, spectators, and fans from across the nation who come to Bakersfield for a variety of sporting events. Being the 52nd largest city in the U.S. (our population is larger than Honolulu, St. Louis, or Pittsburgh) means Bakersfield has the hotels, restaurants, amenities, and attractions to make for a memorable event. Our city was founded on hospitality. Bakersfield began as a place where weary travelers could rest overnight. They would plan in advance to meet and rest in Colonel Baker s field. Today, more than 155 years later, many planners return with their events year after year and cite the warm welcome that Bakersfield gives them. The arena seats 10,000 spectators in tiered upper and lower bowls and has 26 private suites, eight locker rooms and a four-sided video board. The venue is connected via indoor corridor to the Rabobank Convention Center, allowing for additional practice space or staging area. The arena is adjacent to the Bakersfield Marriott, a 259 room full service hotel. The 26,000 sq. ft. performing arts theater and convention facility includes 3,000 permanent seats with great sightlines and a modern stagehouse. Nine meeting rooms and a 12,885 sq. ft. lobby. Additional amenities include a concession area in the lobby, a state-of-the-art sound system, center court scoreboard and digitized message boards situated on diagonally opposite ends of center court. It includes a built-in concession stand, as well as numerous portable concessions stations and a merchandise store. The stadium boasts nearly 19,000 seats for multiple sports events. Venue includes a regulation size grass football/soccer field, track and field stations, four locker rooms, and 3,800 parking spaces. The venue is home to the perennial Western State Conference Renegades football team and men s and women s track programs. The 168-acre site is beautifully landscaped and filled with trees guaranteed to shade on the hottest day. The fairgrounds are just minutes from downtown Bakersfield and convenient to several hotels. Buildings and the grounds can accommodate small parties for 50, a square dance for 500, an outdoor extravaganza for more than 3,000, and the grandstand can accommodate up to 3,000 for concerts and 3,700 for rodeos. A spacious carnival lot, grandstand, theater and horse show arenas are ideal settings for outdoor events such as dog shows, sports shows and family reunions. The four buildings on site can accommodate a variety of events. Wedding receptions, RV rallies, garden expos, seminars and trade shows can be housed in one of several spacious rooms. 6 7

Nestled in the foothills of northeast Bakersfield, the complex is the largest facility with lighted fields in the San Joaquin Valley and one of the largest soccer facilities in California. The venue has 24 regulation size fields, parking for more than 5,000 vehicles. Additionally the venue has four concession facilities and eight built-in restrooms conveniently placed throughout the complex. Both men's and women's soccer teams regularly sit atop NCAA D-II for attendance. The stadium boasts nearly 19,000 seats for multiple sports events. The facility includes a large recreation pool as well as a heated Olympic-sized competition pool. When swimmers touch the pool pads their times are displayed on the scoreboard, then are relayed through cables to a computer located in the office. The computer then seeds the athletes and sets up heats based on the finish times. In addition, bleachers and canopies are available for spectators. With its long fairways and fast greens Kern River Golf Course provides challenges for golfers of all handicaps. The course was designed by William F. Bell and opened in It is a full 18-hole golf course, situated on hilly terrain near the base of the Greenhorn Mountains. North Kern Golf Course is an 18-hole public golf course located north of Bakersfield. The course is 6,754 yards on slightly hilly terrain. The course contains no water hazards; however, it does have long par 4 holes. For example, the 16th hole is a 468-yard par 4. Because of the distance, to shoot par, a golfer must use a long iron to hit a small green. Buena Vista is known for its large, fast greens and unique 1st hole. The course sits in an oasis of majestic eucalyptus trees, mature pines and Mexican palms. Most holes play either up or downhill so challenging lines are prevalent. The views of the nearby Buena Vista aquatic recreation area, lush valley farm land and the surrounding mountains make this truly a beautiful view

The first course is difficult with massive changes in elevation and 30 possible pin positions. The second course has challenging holes that vary between 275' - 550'. Holes are all on grass through big trees and some holes with water hazards. Park also includes two lakes, 10 acres of wildlife habitat, individual and group picnic spots with tables and grills, parking lot, hiking and equestrian trails, fishing spots, children's playgrounds and restrooms. This mostly flat and lightly wooded 9 hole course is located in the Kern River Parkway, a native riparian area which extends over 30 miles through Bakersfield along the Kern River. It is comprised of over 6,000 acres of trails, parks, and waterways. This mostly flat and lightly wooded 18 hole course has only a few of holes that are longer than 200ft. It is great for beginners. 10 acre park also includes shaded picnic facilities, exercise area, children s playground; tennis, basketball, and sand volleyball courts. This flat and lightly wooded 9 hole course is part of a 14 acre complex which features a pavilion, swimming pool, multi-purpose room, stage, lighted tennis courts, horseshoe pits, exercise course, two play areas, multi-use sports field, and two large picnic areas. This mostly flat and lightly wooded 9 hole course is located in the Rosedale Area of Bakersfield. The park is 8.1 acres and includes restrooms, water play area, group picnic shelter and children s play area. This lightly wooded, grassy, mostly flat 9 hole course is located in the Oildale Area of Bakersfield. Security lights enable night play. The park is 20.9 acres and includes a multi-purpose field, community center with activity rooms, gymnasium, gymnastics room, rock climbing gym, lighted baseball diamond, basketball & volleyball courts, restrooms, group picnic shelters, children s play area, and water play area. The three lakes sit directly adjacent to each other, allowing for multiple events to take place at the same time with easy access to each lake for spectators. The lake design allows for a vendor or spectator area to be setup between the lakes. The venue has hosted the USE Waterski National Championships four times and the INT Waterski National Championships twice. Buena Vista Recreational Area is a manmade site of 6,800 acre feet of water consisting of two lakes. Lake Webb is an elongated shape of 873 acres available for boating, jet skiing and fishing, as well as an additional 125 acres for jet skiing. Projecting midway into the lake, a horseshoe shaped spit of land contains 112 campsites in a double row. Lake Evans, at 86 acres, is the place for the more serene pursuits of sailing, fishing, and boating
