1 Virtual Enterprises 2017 California State Trade Show & Business Plan Competition The 2017 California State Trade Show will be held at the Rabobank Convention Center, 1001 Truxtun Avenue, in the city of Bakersfield north of Los Angeles. This is an opportunity to participate in the California State Trade Show and competitions, and to see Virtual Enterprises (VE) high school students demonstrate the entrepreneurial skills they have developed through the planning and operations of their class firms. California VE firms as well as national VE firms will be showcasing their virtual products and services through a series of business education competitions. Business professionals will also present workshops both for VE students and teacher/coordinators. 3 REGISTRATION DETAILS 2017 CA STATE TRADE SHOW REGISTRATION AND PURCHASE ORDER INSTRUCTIONS In order to complete your trade show registration process and secure a booth space at the event, please complete these steps several weeks prior to December 16, Complete the Trade Show Registration form. This form will be available through the teacher portal under firm admin/trade fairs. You must choose your booth from the interactive trade show floor map to complete the registration. You will receive confirmation of your registration. Registration will be on the portal on or before October 1 st. 2. Complete your district Request to Purchase form which initiates a Purchase Order for the registration fees for 2017 Trade Show. These forms should have a number assigned to the valid Purchase Order. 3. Attach a copy of your completed Trade Show Registration form and/or confirmation form to the Request to Purchase form, make a copy for your files, and submit to the appropriate person within your district. The purchase order process time varies from district to district; however, in most cases the purchase order will be submitted to the Kern High School District within 2-5 weeks after you begin the process. The early submission of your paperwork will confirm your booth at the event. Be sure to start this process by no later than November 1st to ensure the PO or payment is received by the deadline. Payment in the form of a PO or Check MUST be received by no later than December 16, 2016 to receive the early bird discount. Both PO and Check should be made out to Kern High School District/Virtual Enterprises and mailed to Regional Occupational Center, c/o Patti Tyree, 501 S. Mt. Vernon Avenue, Bakersfield, CA Booth registration fee is discounted to $475 per booth if payment received on or before December 16, Booth registration fee is $575 if payment is received after December 16, Registration fee includes: Booth rental, electrical access, Wi-Fi, and entry into all competitions (Must be invited to the business plan competitions by placing in the top 42 firms statewide from the regional business plan.) Any cancellation of exhibit space must be in writing to Patti Tyree at patty_tyree@kernhigh.org or to address above.
