5 Camp Site Mowing It seems that more and more campers are only mowing their grass when it is convenient for them i.e. only when they are down camping (if then). If you are not going to be able to camp at the club for several weeks chances are your grass is going grow past an acceptable height. In this case please take the time to make a trip down to mow or work something out with a club friend or neighbor. While you have your mower fired up consider paying it forward and mow an elderly neighbors grass what goes around comes around. Your camp site is your responsibility take some pride in it. Trash Pick Up Thank You The Youth Trash Pick up Day was held on May 19 th Pizza and pop were enjoyed at Remington s Roost after the pick up. A big thank you goes out to the children and adults who participated and worked so hard to pick up trash at our club. If you see trash, please take the time to stop and pick up. Let s keep our club clean. Mark McCracken Inspections The spring inspection was held and again the same violations are still occurring. You must keep your plates up to date and all trailers are required to have your membership number on the front and back. Our biggest problem seems to be keeping the area around trailers mowed and basically cleaned up. It has been a wet season which makes it harder to keep the grass cut so please plan accordingly. It costs the club money every spring and fall to send letters out (usually to the same people). If you are not able to make it down to the club often enough, please ask a friend or a neighbor to help you out. Mark McCracken Inspection Committee Chairperson TEEN DANCE JULY 20, 2013 Finally a Dance just for kids and teens. We will be playing all the music they love listening to that drives all parents crazy. This will be a night just for them, complete with a snack bar, (donations welcome). The dance will start at 8:00 p.m. and end at 11:00 p.m. OFWC NEW ELECTRICAL Fellow members, I would like to share some encouraging news about the ongoing electrical improvements many of you have been making to your sites this year. As of last week end over 254 members had brought their camping spots in to compliance. That is great progress and we truly appreciate the effort and expense that many of you have undertaken to help make our club a safer place. Please know that we understand that in some cases making these changes can be difficult, and yes and at times expensive. What is truly remarkable is to watch folks working together to make these changes, and the members that have lent a hand to a friend to get this important work completed. Seeing this type of team work, in getting this done is unique to Lakeland and makes you feel good to belong to the club. Thanks to all for such great progress on this. The deadline for everyone to have their electrical complete per the new requirements was by the 2013 spring inspection. While most members have completed this (Thank you!), there are still some that have not. Please remember that this was done as a safety issue and was not meant as an inconvenience to anyone. If you are not sure what to do or what materials are needed, please contact one of the following with any questions. Carl Bank , David Mixan , Chris Stawniak , John Zymola , Jeff Arent , Bill Capps or Dave Martin The electrical committee will be completing a re-inspection in the near future. Those members who are not in compliance at that time will be contacted by the O.F.W.C. Board of Directors with corrective measures. *Those members who have had their main boxes marked for replacement will not be required to have their electrical done until the club provided box has been replaced.

6 Be a Good Neighbor Remember you are sharing the club with over 550 other members so please be cognizant of your actions and how they might affect those around you: Park in front of your camper only. Keep your camp site in Inspection Ready mode. Keep Noise to a minimum at night and in the Morning! Avoid slamming car, trailer, and outhouse doors after hours. Watch your language what is acceptable to you and yours may not be appreciated by your neighbors. Treat others how you would like to be treated and we should have a great 2013 camping season. Thanks for your cooperation. OFWC NEW ELECTRICAL REQUIREMENTS 1) The electrical connection from the club provided pedestal to each members trailer will be made with a minimum of 10 gage wire. Anything smaller, 12, 14, 16 gage etc. is NOT allowed. 2) All wire above the ground must be placed in conduit. We recommend schedule 80 PVC/CPVC. 3) All electrical must be buried. We recommend 24 deep. 4) Non-burial rated wire is allowed but entire length must be placed in conduit. We recommend 24 deep, schedule 40 below grade and schedule 80 above ground. 5) Burial rated wire is allowed and is not required to be placed in conduit except that which is above ground. 6) ALL wire must be one continuous length. NO splices allowed. 7) Each trailer parking site will have the use of one 20 or 30 amp outlet for trailer use only. There must be a temporary hook-up outside of the trailer. We recommend a weather proof disconnect box mounted on a post and connect the trailer cord to this box. This connection must be made and maintained. The factory provided wire is NOT allowed to be buried or directly connected to the club furnished pedestal. Please keep the post as close to the trailer as possible. 8) NO extension cords allowed 9) DO NOT use screws or any other fastener that will penetrate the club provided pedestal. There are live wires inside that could be hit causing a short or electrical shock. Please use wire ties or similar items. 10) The deadline for compliance with the new requirements is the spring inspection ) At the end of the camping season, all trailer power cords will be unplugged or the breaker shut off at the pedestal. Our intention for these additional rules and guidelines is for the safety of all and not to cause an inconvenience for the membership. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding. OFWC Board of Directors.
