Sand Bags - are available from Sub-Camp HQ to assist weighting down marquees. Steel Rake - pack a heavy-duty steel rake to get rid of rocks on the ground, just like you do at Cataract Scout Park. Power supply - you can use solar or batteries but no batteries are to go into the Loscam G5 Gpack container - batteries MUST go on the bus in an approved battery container clearly marked with a name and Troop number. 29 SERVICE LEADER & VENTURER FAQS All Leaders at Jamboree who are not allocated a Line Leader role are called Service Leaders. Venturers are Junior Service Leaders. They are all part of the fantastic team who help run all aspects of the Jamboree except the line roles. Service Leader Roles - Some Service Leaders already know their role at the Jamboree. Those who do not will be advised of their role during October, November at the latest. Accommodation - Service Leaders will generally be accommodated in either the Venturer sub-camp or Service Leader sub-camp, and dine in central dining facilities. Some Activity Leaders may camp at Woodhouse or Wellington Marina. Unless you have been specifically advised, you will be sleeping in tents which you need to bring yourself (more below). Shared single gender tents are an option if that suits you. Travel - Service Leaders and Venturers will be travelling to and from AJ2019 on a coach with Scouts from near where they live (unless 'own transport'). We'll be sending travel time information soon. For now, coach departures will be on 3 January keep that day free! Bringing your gear on the coach - Service Leaders and Venturers will bring their 90L Travel Bag (with NOTHING on the outside except name labels), their Daypack and Pillow on the coach, just like the Scouts. Bringing more of your gear in a container - Service Leaders and Venturers ALSO have access to a Loscam G5 Gpack container which they can load at Jamboree Packing Day at Cataract Scout Park on 10 November Service Leaders and Venturers can bring the equivalent of a second 90L Jamboree bag and load it in the Loscam G5. That might be a bag containing your tent and your stretcher for example. You'll drop that gear off (or have your home Troop drop that off for you) at Cataract Scout Park on Jamboree Packing Day. Please clearly mark these bags with your name and either your Service Leader or Junior Service Leader role. Caravans - Private caravans located in the caravan park need to be self-sufficient. No water or power will be supplied, except when required for approved medical equipment. You will need to supply your own power leads that have been safety tested and tagged. No Gensets will be allowed in the Caravan Park. If you are intending on bringing a caravan, please submit your request to camping@aj2019.com.au along with your full name and AJ2019 application number. Mark your bags! - Clearly mark your bags and gear with your name, position, role, and sub-camp. All of this helps lost bags get back to you quickly.
