3 26th Annual Duty to God and Country Retreat Friday Evening - Registration, Campsite Setup, Leaders Meeting Saturday Day - Duty to God Program Activities will include: An opportunity to work on their Scouting s Messenger of Peace Award An age appropriate service project Your unit can design and make a banner based on your understanding of God s Gifts in Nature. (Fabric and glue will be provided for each Scouting Unit to make your banner) You are welcome to bring other materials. You should be prepared to explain your banner at evening activities Continue the PRAY PROGRAM by attending one session of Birds of the Air. Certificate will be issued for those completing all requirements. Drop by the PRAYER WALL and add your prayer request for the new year. Spend time with Civil War and WWII re-enactors Basic Chaplain Aide Training will be offered to members of your unit. This class is open to Scouts and Scouter s alike. This class will help your unit on the new 2017 requirements and how to use the Chaplain s Aide program in your specific unit. Saturday Evening - Our evening events will include a special flag retirement ceremony, presentation and explanation of banners, evening campfire. ROOSEVELT STATE PARK Pine Mountain, Georgia General Information Sheet When: September 15-17, 2017 ALL TIMES WILL BE IN EASTERN STANDARD TIME Purpose: To promote Duty to God Awards in Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, and Venturing Where: Franklin D Roosevelt State Park - Small Group Camp Site Check in on Friday: Entrance to Small Group Camp site 6 PM 10 PM EST. Check in on Saturday: Small Group Camp Campsite 7:30 9 AM EST $15.00 Per Scout or Adult Leader (for the weekend or day only) before September 9 th Registration: Pre-Registration is recommended at the Scout office for all participants. We will have check in Friday, September 15, 2017 between 6:00 PM -10:00 PM EST at entrance to Camp. Saturday morning check in September 16, 2017 is for day only and late camp arrivals from 7:30 to 8:15A.M. Individual units are responsible for their meals and cracker barrels. The Supply Depot Snack Bar Friday 6:00pm to 10:00pm Saturday 10:00am to 6:00 pm PRE-ORDERS END ON 09/13/2017 Supply Requisition Form (Troops using as lunch meal should Pre-order at wrctgc@bellsouth.net) Credit cards accepted See attached Menu Equipment: Each unit will need to bring their own tents, chairs, dining flies, bug spray, raingear, water buckets, Fire pit (ABOVE GROUND FIRES ONLY), toiletries, and money for purchases from Supply Depot. Wear comfortable shoes/boots (NO OPEN TOED SHOES!!) and bring your water bottle, gloves, shovels, rakes, and clippers for the service projects. NOTE: Prior year s Duty to God Patch will be available for purchase Amenities: The Small Group Campsite has a bath house with showers (male and female sides) with standard rest room accommodations, porta-potties will be available, and power is limited on-site. Scout Spirit and Uniforms: Each scout is expected to act according to Scout Oath and Law. Twodeep leadership is required. All participants are asked to wear Class A uniform at the Flag Retirement Ceremony and The Scouts Own Service. Class B is allowed during Round Robin activities. The buddy system is to be used always and a Scouting Spirit to share during the weekend is a must!
