19 The cost for this year s trip: The cost per child will be approximately , which includes all transport, food, accommodation, expert instruction and entertainment. The deposit is 50.00, to be paid by Friday 2 nd March. If your child is entitled to free school meals, please contact the office to discuss. Please pay on Parentpay, as usual. You will receive letters advising you of deadline dates. The only optional extra is the hire of a duvet, if your child does not own a sleeping bag (approx. 3.00) Waterproof jacket and trousers are a very good idea. The Centre has coats and trousers, but for everyday activities onsite they are very useful.

Underwear and socks, T shirts and a couple of sweaters layers! Several pairs of old trousers (please avoid jeans as they chafe and take ages to dry) Several pairs of old trainers (the Centre supplies wellies) Waterproof/windproof jacket, waterproof/windproof trousers (although the Centre can supply them) Woolly hat, gloves, torch, plastic water bottle (an old drinks bottle will suffice) Night wear, indoor shoes or slippers, towels and personal wash kit. 2 black bin liners (for putting dirty/wet clothes in) Lip balm/vaseline to avoid dry, cracked lips Packed lunch for Monday You might consider bringing insect repellent, sun cream, night light and throw away camera. Pocket money (maximum 10 will suffice, as they will get the chance to go to the Tuck Shop) Please label all items where possible. If your child packs their own case/bag, they will know what they have got.

21 General information: The children make their own packed lunches, choosing from a wide selection of sandwich fillings. Feel free to send additional snacks if you wish. They have a large breakfast including a cooked option every day. They are encouraged to fuel up to keep them going. There is a cooked dinner every evening and the food is very good! Every evening there is an activity: night-walk, orienteering, watching a movie, disco.. Rooms accommodate between 2 and 8 children, in large, purpose-built bunk beds. Depends on girl/boy ratio as to which rooms are allocated. Bathrooms and toilets are nearby. Staff bedrooms are dotted amongst the children s rooms.

22 More general information Independence is the order of the day. Children are encouraged to be independent through getting involved with their own packing; with keeping their rooms as tidy as possible; with making their own lunch; with tidying away their dirty dishes; with keeping track of their clothing in the Drying Room. All clothes are to be labelled with their name (including socks if possible). Send old clothes and trainers. Save old pairs of trainers now don t throw them away. They will be invaluable.
