1 February 24 th -26 th, 2012 at Camp Warwa Pathfinders and Trailblazers, this camp is for you! Bring a parent for a fun weekend of workshops and activities! The camp is located on 23 acres of aspen parkland on Lac Ste. Anne, approximately 80 Km west of Edmonton. (See maps below). Registration deadline is February 15 th, 2012 Cost is $60/warden, the first adult from each family is $60. First come, first serve registration. All registration is to be completed on-line at Payment (either by club cheque or personal credit card - Paypal) must be received by the deadline to ensure your spot. If it is not, your spot will go to someone on the wait list. A confirmation will be sent out once registration and payment have been received. Cheques are payable to AJFWA (Alberta Junior forest Warden Association) and must be mailed to: PT Camp, c/o Sonya Schmidt, 37 Highridge Way, Stony Plain, AB T7Z 1M2 Clubs and members must be in good standing before registrations can be accepted. This event is not eligible for club casino allotments to be used. Parents: One parent/guardian must attend with their wardens; so as to accommodate as many wardens as possible, we ask that only one adult per family attend. Extra adults will only be permitted after February 15, and are $100. (Please st3jpt@telus.net with the name of the second parent to be placed on the waiting list (ensure JFW is on subject line). Parents and guardians, please come prepared to assist with the camp programming. This could include assisting instructors or helping to organize groups. Extra parents must get permission to attend from the camp committee (c/o Sonya). Cancellation/Refund Policy: If you have to cancel, please contact Sonya ASAP. There is a 20% non-refundable deposit after February 15, as per AJFWA rules. Plan to arrive after supper on Friday, February 24 th. There is ample parking available a short distance from the bunkhouses watch for signs. When you arrive, please come into the first building you see on your right for registration. Please do not park in the lodge or bunkhouse area, except for those with special needs. Get settled into your room and join us that evening for icebreaker games. Let the fun begin! Meals: 3 meals Saturday, 2 meals Sunday, snacks throughout. Please advise us of any food allergies or health concerns. Accommodations: Heated; shared family bedrooms, indoor washrooms. We will try to group members of the same club, but can t guarantee this. Bring warm clothing, boots, indoor shoes 2x, bedding and towel, your Red Uniform shirt for Saturday supper. 3 Camp Warwa Facility Regulations Camp Warwa reserves the right to refuse and evict any rental groups who violate any of the responsibilities outlined below: 1. Leave the camp cleaner than you found it. This includes clean up of all buildings and grounds. A final maintenance check will be done with the person in charge of your group. Any extra cleaning required by Camp Warwa s will be deducted from your deposit. 2. All rental groups must acknowledge and understand Camp Warwa s emergency procedures that are provided by staff upon arrival. 3. Smoking is prohibited in all buildings. Smoking is permissible outside at the campfire pit only (please ensure cigarette butts are thrown inside the fire pit). 4. Parking is located in the designated parking lot only. Vehicles are allowed to drop off food and supplies at the kitchen. Vehicles must be removed immediately after unloading. Users should carry their personal gear from the parking lot to the dormitories with the exception of people with special needs. 5. We recycle paper, cardboard, and all bottles and juice boxes. Please place them in separate garbage bags outside the back of the kitchen. 6. The dormitories contain beds with mattresses, showers, and flush toilets. Users are responsible for their own bedding, toiletries, etc. The showers are hooked up to an energy saving system and therefore temperature cannot be adjusted. 7. NO FOOD IN THE DORMS. We have experienced problems with rodents and insects invading our dorms and it is always attributed to food left in the dorms. Please keep all your food and drinks in the Mess Hall. 8. No food is allowed in any of the buildings other than the kitchen because it attracts insects and rodents. 9. No candles in any buildings unless you provide a suitable method to prevent any wax from dripping on floors, counters, tables, and furniture. 10. First Aid Kits are stationed in each building for your use. For emergency illness or injury please use the phone located in the kitchen. Emergency numbers and camp location are posted by the phone. 11. No non-prescribed drugs or alcoholic beverages on site. 12. Please leave your pets at home. 13. Please remove shoes in the Mess Hall, Dorms, and Rec Hall. 14. Appropriate and adequate adult supervision must be provided a minimum ratio of 1 adult per 8 children. 15. Camp Warwa receives close to 3000 users each year and is therefore prone to over-picking. Please be sensitive to the environment when doing nature activities. Please do not feed site animals or wildlife. No live trees/vegetation are to be cut, damaged, or otherwise altered. 16. No fires on the beach or places other than the campfire pit (due to fire hazards and aesthetic reasons). Never leave a campfire unattended. Only use firewood that is provided. 17. Use of an axe is at the users discretion. Camp Warwa recommends proper use of axe and use of personal protection equipment. 18. In the event of damage by the occupants, the sponsoring organization will be charged accordingly. 19. Use the beach at own risk. There is no lifeguard on duty. Children must be supervised by persons over Be environmentally concerned; please shut off the lights when not in use. 21. The dock is susceptible to breakage if more than 5 people are on it at once. Please note that jumping and other types of horseplay can also cause damage. Any damage will be charged accordingly. 22. Jumping or diving off the dock is prohibited. The lake is too shallow for jumping and or diving and injury will result. 23. The deposit will be fully refunded if cancellation is made 14 days or more to expected arrival. Less than 14 days cancellation will be charged a $50 administrative fee. 24. Use of unauthorized off road vehicles is not allowed on the camp property.

4 Hazards to be aware of: Winter weather may vary - extreme cold or wet thaw conditions. Be prepared! The schedule is below, but is still subject to change. The majority of the programming will be outside. Please dress for the weather accordingly. Even though this event has been filled to capacity the last three years, there were some last minute cancellations due to illness and everyone on the waitlist was given the opportunity to attend. Sessions are subject to change, but very likely to be: -Low ropes & initiative/team building course (weather permitting / backup is indoor climbing wall) -Indoor Tarp Map Lesson - Program lead by Terry Garrett Free time on Saturday may include things like: -camp fire prep (songs & skits by the kids?) -creating a stenciled painted JFW art work on the item you choose to bring from home (e.g./ t-shirt, pillow case ) ** Please be aware that each person in attendance will only be allowed to use ONE stencil on ONE item per person as we will not have supplies on site for more than that!** - snowshoeing if any parents want to lead this with their kids PT Games (Sunday morning) - You will have to wait and see what is in store for this ;)

In my absence, this is my permission for the leader in charge or designates, to make arrangements for qualified surgical and/or medical attention for my child/ward in the event of an emergency without necessity of my prior approval. I understand that I will be notified by the quickest means possible in the event of emergency or if this authority is exercised.
