2 Acta Member benefits... What s in it for you? An ACTA member is automatically eligible for the Chevron diesel fuel program when they join the association. Typically, a member using 5000L of diesel per month over 10 months (for a total of 50,000L) could save $1,000 per year over a non-member. Likewise, if an ACTA member purchased 100,000L per year, it could be a savings of $2,000. Chevron and the Alberta Construction Trucking Association The Chevron Fuel Rebate Program We thank ACTA and its members for your business at the Calgary Commercial Cardlocks. Since ACTA and Chevron began our new strategic partnership in the Fall of 2006, we are growing in Calgary together. Chevron looks forward to being a continued part of ACTA s Future growth. It pays to be an ACTA member! Chevron is in partnership with ACTA for two reasons: Bring-in-a-member promotion To provide ACTA members with special pricing at our Chevron cardlocks; and Recommend ACTA to an associate. If they join and indicate your name on their application form, you will receive $25. The Fuel Rebate program is of particular assistance to the smaller ACTA members. For more information on this incentive, contact Erika Hudson at or info@myacta.ca. 2. To be a contributing member and add value to your quality organization. These smaller ACTA members receive tier pricing which equates to annual volumes of 300,000 to 500,000 litres: 50,000 L saves $1,000 per year 150,000 to 200,000 L saves $2,000 per year Every litre of diesel fuel purchased also contributes to an annual cheque back to ACTA to assist in support of the association. We are continuing to look forward for new ways to add value to our relationship. 4 ACTA began lobbying the Alberta Government in June 2007 in regards to the restriction of gross vehicle weight regulations for nonconforming pony and full trailers built prior to The Association is pleased to report that Alberta Transportation has recently decided to defer the weight reductions indefinitely. Below are letters from the Honourable Luke Ouellette, Minister of 4
5 Transportation and Shaun Hammond, Assistant Deputy Minister, confimring this recent decision. This will translate to significant savings to operators of these vehicles - on average between $10,000 - $30,000 annually. This process has also opened the door for future negotiations and discussions with this Ministry. Thanks to the ACTA Board for their hard work to resolve this issue. 5
