2 The Caravan Industry Association Western Australia (Inc) (CIAWA) is the peak Caravan and Camping Industry body for Western Australia. As a Not for Profit organisation since formation in 1963, our role is to provide services for the benefit of your business; to promote the caravan and camping lifestyle and it s affordability; and to advocate to Government on behalf of industry as a whole this includes Trades, Parks and Service providers. Some of the Association s activities and services provided during the 2012 / 2013 year are: PRODUCED the annual Caravan, Camping & Motorhome Guide for Western Australia, 52 pages, 110,000 copies. ORGANISED & MANAGED the 2013 Perth Caravan and Camping Show with 46,000 visitors. ORGANISED & MANAGED the 2012 Goldfields Caravan & Camping Show with over 5,000 visitors. PRODUCED & IMPLEMENTED over $650,000 worth of advertising for promotion of the industry. PURCHASED a freehold strata property in Cannington to permanently house the Association. NEGOTIATED an alliance with the Commonwealth Bank to provide financial benefits to Members. MAINTAINED a CIAWA membership of the Chamber of Commerce & Industry WA for the direct financial and consultative benefit of Members. INITIATED industry research into demographics specific to Western Australia. COMMUNICATED CIAWA activities to Members via the informative and pictorial quarterly CIAWA newsletter. LIAISED with the Department of Transport and RVMA on compliance issues related to imported products. ADVOCATED to Government via the Department of Commerce Membership views and feedback on the review of the Residential Parks (Long Stay Tenant) Act SUBMITTED industry information in an effort to reduce Stamp Duty on Motorhomes to Treasury. SUBMITTED to the Building Commission and Department of Local Government on sustainable housing regulations affecting park cabins and homes. SUBMITTED to Tourism Western Australia industry information into the Caravan and Camping Action Plan. The 2013 / 2014 Membership year will see continuation of the momentum described above, plus new benefits; Consumer website including full profile of Members and advice for those looking to buy product or take a trip. Trade Members now have an opportunity for an included 1/8 advert or line listing in the Annual Guide. An option for Local Government operated Caravan Parks to take up Membership. Associate Parks Membership for providers of caravan and camping sites (ie: Pastoral Stations and Farm Stays). Members receive the highest discounted rate for exhibiting at the Perth Caravan & Camping Show. CIAWA management and attendance at the Melbourne, Adelaide, Sydney and Brisbane caravan and camping shows designed to drive new caravan & camping traffic into Western Australia. Consumer Club allowing for promotion of special offer from members. For you and your business, Membership of CIAWA means financial, consultancy and advocacy benefits. Over the coming year promotional activities will continue to be carried out on behalf of Members. With CIAWA speaking as the voice of industry the more businesses we represent and feedback we get from those businesses benefit industry as a whole. 5 2013/2014 Membership Payment and Caravan WA Guide Booking Form 110,000 copies of the Annual Caravan, Camping and Motorhome Guide will be produced in late 2013 for a January 2014 distribution and be applicable for the entire year. This will allow new rates to be advertised for the year ahead and for the Guide to be used for promotional purposes at the major East Coast Caravan Shows with current information for Members available for consumers and his being the only state wide promotional product, will make it even more attractive product.
