2 Le Twentyman 20th Man Kid Chritma Party a great ucce - 12 December 2012 Thi annual event deliver the pirit of Chritma to the kid and familie who really need it! It ha great community upport with both the Police and Fire Dept in attendance. The kid get a chance to ee the Police in a difference light too, with mile all round. Santa of coure arrived in fine tyle in a Fire Truck nicknamed Rudolph of coure. The preent were given out to the kid by Santa and hi eager helper, one of whom wa Sam Newman. All of the preent, food and drink are donated by the community. The mile on the kid face were the real reward for all the hard work. The 20th Man team picked up and delivered ome kid and familie to the event in the 20th Man Bu. Thi wa provided by Rotary Brighton, Graham Stewart from Lexu of Brighton and the Toyota Dealer! Several Rotarian were on hand to hare the experience and ait the 20th Man team on the day. A great event, and yet another example of how Rotary and it upporter really do make a difference in people live. 4 Annual Brighton Rotary Golf Weekend Friday 22 February at Cape Schank (Friday night away only) We are returning to our cutomary weekend being the lat weekend in February thi year. The plan i: 1. 6 Rotary Youth in Sailing Participation in Fetival Of Sail Autralia Day 2013 A number of youth repreenting Rotary Club from Regional Victoria i an integral part of the overall Rotary Youth in Sailing program with the elected youth able to participate in ailing to Geelong with Mike Rundle and Norm Thoma from RCB on the 47 Yacht Ingara out of SYC. Fetival of Sail to be held in January 2013 i to be a imilar event to lat year with the date for RYIS participation on the 24th and 25th January, with the poibility of a tay in Melbourne on 23rd. The following are the name of the youth (and ponor rotary club) participating in the Fetival of Sail - Autralia Day Event from Thurday 24th January to Friday 25th January. Thurday 24th January, Travel to Melbourne with Lynne Cooper our regional co-ordinator from Bendigo-Strathdale RC. Participant will be meeting with Lynne at the Bendigo Rail Station at 9am harp. The train leave at 9.20 am to arrive by around am at Southern Cro Station, Melbourne. There will be a briefing prior to attending The Autralia Day Luncheon at the Melbourne Convention Centre. Thi event i by pecial invite from the State Premier Office who are hoting the lunch for many celebritie, port people and dignitarie. All participant will be dreed accordingly for the lunch (dree for ladie, lack, hirt tie & jacket (depending on weather) for gent. All other ailing gear (non marking oft ole hoe, warm waterproof jacket, hort jean etc..) and peronal gear for one night tay will be packed in a bag that will be tored in Rotary care until after the lunch, when they will be tranported by Rotary back to overnight hot in the Brighton Bayide Area. Thurday evening will be fairly relaxed owing to the early morning Friday tart, however we may be viiting the Sandringham Yacht Club Marina for a brief familiariation with the Yacht INGARA, meeting with ome of the crew, plu an overview of the yachting term and ome afety intruction getting ready for the following day. 2. Friday 25th January Early morning will tart with a drop off at the Sandringham Yacht Club by 7.30am for tranfer to the yacht INGARA where all the team will be participating in the ailing regatta to Geelong, arriving mid to late afternoon depending on prevailing wind. (Lunch provided on board) After arrival in Geelong there will be a brief reception at the Royal Geelong Yacht Club around (1600 Hr) where thoe parent or friend are welcome to participate prior to return journey to your individual home around 1800 Hr. 7 RI Ditrict 9800 Inc Autralian Buhfire Recovery Fund 2013 A we have een o many time in recent year, our New Year ha tarted with a natural diater on a large cale. A new of the catatrophic buhfire in the Taman Peninula and Bicheno area of Tamania ha emerged, we have alo een report of fire emerging elewhere acro Autralia. With the early tart to the buhfire rik period thi ummer and climatic projection dahing hope of an early repite, the prognoi thi ummer i preently very peimitic. Ditrict 9800 ha acted to throw our upport behind effort to ait with recovery project wherever they may be required and a far a our ability to raie fund will permit. With the ituation in Tamania already clear, we have een much lo of property, with the live of many reident greatly dirupted. While loe of life have fortunately not been anywhere near the extent of our own Black Saturday Fire that took 173 live in 2009, the preent fire have pread and there cannot be any firm prediction about what the future hold. Following the Black Saturday Fire that caued o much damage and lo, Tamania reponded through Rotary International Ditrict 9830 (Tamania), raiing a large amount of money and many valuable in kind contribution to ait recovery in our tate. There i no doubt that we Victorian currently owe Tamania our upport in it time of great need. The Ditrict ha launched thi appeal for donation to enable aitance to be provided in the firt intance to Tamanian in need in cooperation with Ditrict We earnetly eek your upport to enure that we can do o generouly.
