3 President s Message Now is the time to get the word out. As I hope everyone knows by now we are going to have our first annual car show at Route 65 in Ham Lake. The date will be April 27th. The flyers have been printed. Todd Lewis will have them to give out at our pizza party on March 19th at Carbone s. We need every club member to pass these flyers out. Let s make an honest effort to talk this show up. We have 1,000 flyers printed and I can get more if needed. If you can t attend the pizza party (who doesn t like free pizza) please get in touch with Todd or myself so we can get you some flyers. Don t forget that this show is open to all American Branded cars or trucks. No rice burners. I hope everyone had a great evening at our Winter Banquet. I think the service was outstanding. The only complaint I heard was that they ran out of some potatoes. Thank you to Terry Ford, Karen Ford, and Jim Felker for making it happen. I will see everyone at our Pizza Party on March 19th. Steve Messer, Tomahawk Chief Page 2
4 Show cars will be $5 and swap spaces will be $5, free admission for spectators. There will be food vendors on site. January Meeting Minutes We met at the Rosetown Legion on 1/15. The meeting was called to order at 6:59 pm. The December meeting minutes were read by Todd Lewis and accepted. Treasurer s report was read by Jim Felker, and accepted. Old Business Todd showed proofs of the new decals that we are using to encourage younger members to join. Each club member will get one sticker and then we will have extras for sale. Todd will also explore the option of window clings. Tomahawk Chapter business cards were distributed. We will hand these out to prospective members. Congratulation to Tim and Ann Herrera on their recent marriage. Some photos were featured in the February SMOKE SIGNALS. A reminder for all Tomahawk members to watch for the POCI board of director s election ballots in the March SMOKE SIGNALS. Please take the time to vote and help our chapter win the $200 for the chapter with the largest percentage of members voting. The door prize drawing winner was Jim Notch. The meeting was adjourned at 7:42 pm. Minutes by Melissa Miller, for: Steve Mudbird Weese Tomahawk Chapter Secretary The Banquet will be held at Jimmy s on February 2nd. It was decided that there will be no February membership meeting. Terry Ford talked about the GMCCA Car Show. The date is June 9th and we will stuff goody bags on June 6th. The Tomahawk Car Show Committee met before the meeting and discussed the Tomahawk Chapter Car Show and Swap Meet to be held at Route 65 in Ham Lake. The date will be April 27th, 9 am to 3 pm and will be open to all American-branded automobiles. Page 3 MARCH MEETING: Pizza Feast!
5 Meanwhile... Back at the Pontiac Ranch Membership Meeting January is behind us and Spring is coming! I hope those who attended the banquet had a good time, thanks to Nick Mann for sharing his photos, and to Terry & Karen Ford for the Pluggers cartoon (below). No membership meeting in February, but be sure to join us at Carbone s for the March meeting and the pizza feeding frenzy! Paul Bergstrom, Tomatalk Editor March 19th 7:00 pm Carbone s Pizza th St. W. 6 Vintage Pontiac Photos I wonder if this ol Poncho survived, maybe it s in the hands of an Early Times Chapter member. Note that the Win This Car banner references a date in 1953, so I guess this 40s Pontiac was a used car giveaway!
