I wnted to get to the top nd I did it! The next thing to conquer ws the zip-line. It ws AWESOME! At first I ws scred, but my counselors sng song! It ws hilrious. It got me to go down the line. Yeh, Tower! How We Spent Our SUMMER VACATION W hile t cmp, cmpers re empowered to do things they never thought they could do. For instnce, climbing the tower t the high ropes course is something mny of our cmpers never even thought possible nd yet ech nd every summer hundreds of cmpers rech the top of the tower nd zip bck down to erth, overcoming their doubts nd fers. This summer over 1,200 children hd the opportunity to come to Boggy Creek. During the opening cmpfire of session nine, cmper shouted out Best Week of Our Lives! nd the overwhelming response ws every single person shouting bck t the top of their lungs, Best Week of Our Lives! nd so it begn We, s fmily, embrked on journey of 8,648 vluble moments tht took us: Swing dncing, kissing cmel, pssing our first swim test, ctching our first fish, eting spghetti with no hnds, eting cotton cndy before brekfst, eting cupckes FOR brekfst, climbing 42-foot tower, lerning to cook chicken pot pie, dressing up in costume nd singing on stge, ctching pig, wshing got, riding horse, building wooden rce cr, designing volcno, nd so much more Cmpers, counselors, kitchen stff nd medicl stff ll week long chnted Best Week of Our Lives! whenever they could. I love coming here nd I got so excited when I got my cceptnce letter becuse I knew I ws going to hve gret time. Cmpers love the opportunity to work with their hnds nd crete msterpieces. A se of beming smiles on our proud rtists fces is evidence enough tht ech boy nd girl hs hd the best week of their lives. WHOA!!! When I cme to cmp I ws relly excited bout riding horse for the first time in my life. I ws so excited to see wht they looked like nd how big they were. It ws so much fun tht I will never forget it. Their visit ws prt of the yer-long celebrtion of Cmp s 10th Birthdy. Not only did they tour cmp, serve lunch to the cmpers, bus tbles nd sing songs, they lso brought presents! They donted long list of items for the kitchen AND brought 40 cses of dessert from Olive Grden which ws n instnt hit with the cmpers. Thnks Dve nd Rick the cmpers loved hving you here! Cmpers on Trck for the Pepsi 400 If you tuned into the FOX brodcst of the Pepsi 400 NASCAR Nextel Cup rce the night of July 1, you sw the work of some very cretive Boggy Creek cmpers on trck. The Ginn Compny, sponsors of MB2 Motorsports #14 driven by Sterling Mrlin, invited three cmpers to help design the pint scheme for the Pepsi 400 cr. Top cr designer Steve Brekfield cme to Cmp on June 8 where he joined cmpers: Tori Tiger, ge 15 from Dyton Bech, Jke Westbrook, ge 13 from St. Augustine nd Zch Robinson, ge 10 from Jcksonville in the Arts & Crfts building. The cmpers worked with cr templte tht hd lredy plced the Ginn Compny nd Cmp Boggy Creek logos. From there they went to work. Steve returned to Chrlotte, NC where he incorported the cmper s ides into the finl design. A press event ws held t the trck on June 29 where Tori nd Zch joined Sterling Mrlin to unveil the cr which the cmpers sw for the first time. Tour of Wter Grdens: Homeowners opened their doors in Inverness to show off their wter grdens for two dys. The weekend finished off with bnquet nd rffle. The Aqu Scpe Tour led to contribution of $3,200 for Cmp. Shnnon Burke nd the Rel Ride: Bikers hit the rod from Mitlnd to Ormond Bech, finishing off the ride t Destintion Dyton. Shnnon Burke of Rel Rdio led the wy. After the silent uction nd 50/50 drwing Cmp Boggy Creek received over $4,900. Hospitlity Finnce nd Technicl Professionls of Mid Florid: This ws the 4 th yer for these folks to pick up their golf clubs for chrity.
