4 Ideally located in the centre of the UK, the city is served by strong road, rail and air links, making it an easily accessible location for visitors from all over the world. By air Manchester airport is one of the world s top 20 airports, a major international air traffic hub with frequent scheduled flights to the majority of key UK, European and international destinations. It is nine miles (14.5km) outside the city centre, taking approximately 25 minutes by taxi, or alternatively there is a direct half-hourly express rail service to the city centre that takes approximately 20 minutes. By rail Manchester has direct rail connections to all major UK cities, with London just over two hours away by train. The main national rail stations at Victoria and Piccadilly interface with an extensive local transport network of trains, trams and buses to make it easy for delegates to get around. By road Manchester is at the heart of the Northwest s motorway network with easy access from all points in the UK onto the M60, the city s orbital motorway. Manchester Central also has the advantage of a 650 space on-site car park as well as a range of other parking and park & ride options for delegates. Getting around Manchester city centre is compact and easy to get around. A free shuttle bus service takes passengers from the major rail stations to the main points and areas of interest and the city s Metrolink tram system provides easy access to all parts of the city centre. 7 Manchester Central offers some of the most flexible and versatile event spaces in the UK. Its facilities include two exhibition halls, a purpose-built convention auditorium, a large column-free exhibition area, plus a suite of corporate facilities and breakout rooms, all interconnected on a compact and easily accessible city centre site. Light and welcoming foyer spaces mean that the venue can offer three totally self-contained areas, each with its own foyer entrance. The only limit to what you can do is your imagination. Central Hall The main exhibition space, Central Hall, provides a single column-free area that can be used for conventional exhibition layouts or for more unusual installations that utilise the height and character of the interior. It can also be subdivided into two smaller halls, each with organisers offices, a dedicated entrance, cloakroom and restaurant. The ceiling height and scale of the hall also allows it to be used simultaneously to provide exhibition space plus a seated auditorium for up to 9,000 delegates. Central Foyer A light and airy, modern foyer provides an additional 1,280m 2 of space for delegate networking or additional exhibition stands. A moveable wall system creates six self-contained meeting rooms that are perfect for breakout sessions, meetings and workshops. Alternatively the meeting rooms can be taken down to leave a free area of 1,650m 2 of space. The Gallery The Gallery is a brand new multi-purpose space connecting Central Hall and the Charter Suite. Flooded with natural light through its 40m long sky light, this space creates an ambience of relaxation and is ideal for networking, exhibitions or as an event space in its own right. Exchange Auditorium and Exchange Hall The 804 seat, purpose-built Exchange Auditorium provides state-of-the-art facilities to suit the most sophisticated audio-visual requirements. The adjacent exhibition space, Exchange Hall, can be used for everything from trade exhibitions and event hospitality to conference seating and large-scale banqueting and in combination the two spaces create a self-contained conference and exhibition facility with its own dedicated entrance. Exchange Foyer The expansive foyers around Exchange Hall and Auditorium provide a light and welcoming networking space and conveniently connect to a range of conference breakout rooms and a suite of organisers offices. Charter Suite The Charter Suite consists of a number of connected flexible spaces that can be used singly or in combination to accommodate corporate and other events ranging from 100 person meetings to 500 seat dinners. A dedicated entrance means that the Charter Suite can be used in isolation or in combination with other facilities across the complex. Charter Foyer Charter Foyer is one of three main foyer entrances to the complex, offering exclusive networking facilities for delegates as well as flexible access to the main conference and exhibition spaces. Our Executive Chef, Simon Firth is internationally renowned for his inspired and beautifully presented food. The delicious dishes crafted by Simon and his team are made from ingredients that are both locally sourced and ethically produced. 90% of our fresh seasonal produce comes from local farms, all of our meat is Farm Assured, we never use GM foods and we choose Fair Trade products whenever possible. Everything is carefully prepared on the premises; in fact, we re the only venue in Manchester with the skill and capacity to serve gourmet meals in such volume.
