DIN A4, a team of architects from Innsbruck designed the building to impart a light and pleasant atmosphere. Respecting the typical look of the village the building was set into a slope, thus optimizing energy consumption and reducing the impact on nature. A glass spiral ensures that daylight floods into all the meeting rooms and halls.

The Congress Centrum Alpbach is a unique building, which largely owes its presence to the European Forum Alpbach. Precisely because of the events successful annual meetings an extension taking latest requirements into consideration has become necessary. Careful planning and realization make undisturbed day-to-day conferencing possible. As prevalent in the existing congress centre the majority of the extension will be underground and natural light will be directed into the building.
