Learn how your municipality can use this certification as part of the hiring and professional development of your EDO. The training modules can also be presented in your community to increase economic development capacity. Provincial Retail Cannabis Strategy MNP Hall A Presented by: Representatives from Manitoba Growth, Enterprise and Trade and the Premier s Enterprise Team and Priorities and Planning Committee of Cabinet The Province of Manitoba released its Hybrid Model for Distribution and Retail of Cannabis on November 7. This presentation will discuss the details of this provincial retail cannabis strategy, as well as the role of municipalities in advance of the proposed July 1, 2018 legalization of recreational cannabis in Canada. Manitoba s Climate Change & Green Plan A Made-In-Manitoba Solution MNP Hall B Presented by: Rob Olson, Deputy Minister, Manitoba Sustainable Development This presentation will provide a high-level overview of the Made-In-Manitoba Climate and Green Plan released by the government on October 27, Municipalities will play a crucial role in the success of Manitoba s new plan. They understand local needs and are best positioned to suggest local solutions. We want this to be a strong plan that works for many years ahead. Each of us has a role to play in growing our economy and protecting our environment. This presentation will provide AMM members with the opportunity to learn more and help shape the future direction of our Made-In-Manitoba approach. Changes at the Public Utilities Board Water & Wastewater Salon A Presented by: Rachel McMillan, Acting Assistant Associate Secretary, Public Utilities Board (PUB) As of August 3, 2017 the PUB has introduced new policies to expedite water and wastewater rate applications for utilities owned by municipalities. The new simplified process is intended to help address current delays. This session will provide an outline of the changes in water and wastewater to expedite rate applications, as well as the next steps of the PUB.
