1 The Official Newsletter for the Network of Coast to Coast Resorts Another Strong Performance for Coast to Coast in 2017 Coast to Coast had another strong year of growth in 2017, with new membership sales, member count, and renewing members all showing growth versus the previous year. The new Coast video released in fourth quarter has been extremely well received by resorts and should prove to be an effective tool in your sales presentations. We have also completed work on a series of How to videos to educate members on how to use their Coast member benefits, and these have already been posted to our member website. The series includes Welcome videos for each product type as well as How to videos on several key Coast member benefits. See the article on page 6 of this issue for more about the videos. Our parent company, Good Sam/Camping World, continues its rapid expansion as Camping World expands its retail and RV sales leadership nationwide while new stores are beginning to open around the country for newly-acquired Gander Outdoors. Over 70 Gander Outdoor stores will open during the first part of 2018, with plans to announce additional store locations during the year. Gander Outdoors serves customers who are passionate about hunting, fishing, marine and water sports, camping, and active and shooting sports. 2 Network News New Owners for Hideaway Ponds Resort & Ridgeview Resort Two Coast resorts recently changed ownership. Hideaway Ponds Recreational Resort in Gibson, Louisiana, is now part of the Ocean Canyon Properties group of resorts. The resort name has changed to Hideaway Ponds RV Resort Ocean Canyon Properties, and the phone number, website, and address have changed as well. Also Ridgeview RV Resort in Bullhead City, Arizona, formerly part of the Sunrise Resorts group, is now owned by the Colorado River Adventures resort group. The resort has a new name, Sunrise Adventures Ridgeview, and new contact information including new phone number, website, and address. Congratulations to both Ocean Canyon Properties and Colorado River Adventures on their new resort acquisitions! Two New Additions to the Coast Network! However we recognize that we only succeed when you succeed. That s why we support your sales efforts in every way we can, and also why each year we salute our top performers, both individuals and resorts. Thus we are pleased to recognize the top Coast sales achievers for 2017, for it was your hard work and dedication that led to our sales success this past year. RESORT DEVELOPER SALES AWARDS Each year Coast to Coast recognizes both national and regional resort developer award winners for outstanding sales performance. In the category of National Awards, was once again our top membership seller and thus is the winner of our #1 National Sales Achievement award. Ocean Canyon Properties won the National Award for Highest Annual Sales Increase in And Briarcliffe RV Resort once again earned the National Award for being our #1 Top Hosting Resort. In the East Region, Arrowhead Lakes-Venture Out Resorts was recognized for #1 East Region Single Resort Sales, while Outdoor Adventures won for #1 East Region Multi-Resort Sales. In the West Region, Neskowin Creek Resort-Sound Pacific Resources of Oregon was the #1 West Region Single Resort Sales winner, while Colorado River Adventures won the award for #1 West Region Multi-Resort Sales. INDIVIDUAL SALES AWARDS In addition to resort developer awards, Coast to Coast recognizes outstanding sales performance by individuals at our affiliated resorts. In the East Region Joan Chandon of won East Resort Sales Manager of the Year, while Todd Tacey of was the winner of the East Resort Sales Person of the Year. In the West Region, Curt Edelman of Colorado River Adventures won West Resort Sales Manager of the Year, and Adrian Barnes of K/M Resorts was the winner of the West Resort Sales Person of the Year. Coast to Coast, through our Coast Century Club program, recognizes individual sales people who sell 100 or more new Coast to Coast memberships during the course of the year. 5 Network News Selects Resortbridge Systems for New Reservation System Resortbridge Systems, a leading provider of reservation and accommodation management systems developed on the Salesforce.com platform, and Inc. (OAI), recently announced an agreement to implement Resortbridge Systems Reservation and Accommodation Management System at OAI s nine membership resorts in Michigan and Ohio. Resortbridge s Reservation and Accommodation Management system is built on Salesforce.com s Software as a Service (SaaS) platform and is part of Resortbridge s suite of software designed to provide end-to-end management of sales, marketing, reservation and accommodation management for private membership and vacation resorts. The Salesforce.com based software suite includes lead management, marketing and marketing channel management, call center management with integrated telephony, membership plan and membership product management, sales management, member life cycle management, reservations and accommodation management. The reservation and accommodation management system utilize a rules based engine and has options that include point-of-sale, rate management, taxation, inventory control, and cash management functionality, all implemented on the Salesforce.com platform. selected Resortbridge s Reservation and Accommodation Management System after a comprehensive search. Operations Rating Teams Heading To Your Resort It s that time of year when the Good Sam Directory inspection teams will be traveling the country to rate parks and resorts, including our Coast affiliated resorts. Please give these teams access to your resort for their inspection, and answer any questions they may have about your resort amenities. The inspection teams will have a letter from Coast introducing them and authorizing them to inspect each of our resorts. Coast is the only reciprocal network in the membership camping industry to professionally rate our resorts each year, and ratings are published in the Coast Annual Resort Directory. If you have questions in regards to the inspection or rating process, please call Linda Clark at , ext Have You Set Your 2018 Spring Open Dates in Tripsetter? If you are a seasonal resort, it is important that you reset your open and close dates as well as summer holiday blocks in the Coast Tripsetter Reservation System each year. Failing to set your open date may mean that Coast members cannot make reservations at your resort, while failing to block holidays may mean that Coast members will be able to make reservations during peak holiday weekends when you will likely be full with your own members. 6 Sales Update Good Neighbor Park (GNP) Program Changing for 2018 Beginning in 2018, Coast members will no longer make reservations for GNP stays through the Coast Tripsetter Reservation System but instead will contact GNPs directly to make and pay for reservations. Coast is making this change in order to attract more parks to our GNP network and also provide more availability of GNP nights for Coast members. Coast converted all GNPs to this new direct reservation and payment program effective January 15, This new program was communicated to members beginning with the 2018 Coast Annual Resort Directory in January. Notices of this change will continue to be provided to Coast members throughout the year in new member kits, renewing member kits, and in each issue of Coast Magazine. Also in regards to GNPs, a reminder that Coast has changed the nightly rate to allow affiliated GNPs to charge a special discount rate to Coast members that may be higher than the traditional GNP rate of $15/night. This special Coast discount rate is typically a 20%-25% savings versus the GNPs normal rate. This was done in order to attract the type of quality parks and resorts to the GNP network that we know Coast members enjoy. Please note that all reservations at Classic, Deluxe, and Premier Resorts in the Coast network will continue to be booked and paid through the Coast Tripsetter Reservation System. Introducing New Coast Member Videos! We are thrilled to announce that we ve created new how to videos designed specifically for Coast to Coast members and added them to our website. The new videos will help both new and current members get the most out of their Coast member benefits. There are Welcome videos for all three member types, as well as How to videos on benefits such as Coast Travel Services, Hopaway Holiday Getaways, and Rental Accommodations. We also created videos to help members navigate the CoastResorts.com website and use the online Tripsetter reservation system to book RV stays at Coast Resorts. To view the new videos, members sign in at CoastResorts.com and select Videos in the Benefits dropdown menu at the top of their member homepage.
