1 Vol VI Issue XII December th GVKPIL AGM The 24 th AGM of GVK Power & Infrastructure Limited was held on November 14, 2018 at Hyderabad. In his speech, Dr GVK Reddy, Founder and Chairman, GVK, highlighted the economic scenario including the implementation of GST before dwelling on the company s performance for the fiscal year and the progress made by each of the subsidiaries of the group. The shareholders also appreciated the management for achievements made in the development of Mumbai Airport and progress made in the implementation of the Navi Mumbai airport project. Around 162 shareholders attended the AGM and all the resolutions were passed with the requisite majority. 2 GVK AIRPORTS Mr. G V Sanjay Reddy speaks at SARC on Urban Infra Mr. G V Sanjay Reddy, Vice Chairman, GVK was among the panel of distinguished speakers at the South Asia Regional Conference on Urban Infrastructure held at New Delhi on November 15 and 16, Mr. Reddy deliberated on the topic Partnership-Private and Public, The New Approach. The conference was organized by NITI Aayog in partnership with UNESCAP and ADB at the Pravasi Bharatiya Kendra, New Delhi. Other members of the panel included Mr. S. C. Garg, Secretary, Department of Economic Affairs, Union Ministry of Finance; Mr. Kenichi Yokoyama, Country Director (India), Asian Development Bank; Mr. Ashwani Lohani, Chairman, Railway Board ; Mr. Moazzam Mekan, Principal Investment Officer, IFC and Mr. Om Dharananda Rajapadhyay, Expert, Housing and Urban Development, Nepal. The session was moderated by Mr. Gaurav Taneja, National Leader, Ernst and Young. The main purpose of organizing the conference was to review overall issues and assess the sustainability of PPPs and urban finance in South Asia, specifically India and also to broaden the knowledge base regarding PPPs and municipal finance innovations in South Asia. GVK MIAL medical team s good deed The medical team of GVK MIAL helped an Indonesian woman who delivered a baby on a Jakarta-bound Etihad Airways flight from Abu Dhabi. After the woman developed labour pains, the Airbus A330 aircraft was diverted to Mumbai. The woman delivered the baby girl when the aircraft was around 40 minutes away from the GVK CSMIA. The team attended to the woman and her baby immediately after the aircraft landed. The doctors provided necessary medical assistance and alongwith her baby, she was shifted to Seven Hills Hospital for further medical care. Session on handling disabled passengers The quality and customer care department of GVK MIAL recently conducted a half-day training session on handling passengers with a disability. The training was conducted by Samarthyam, an NGO. The session was held as part of compliance to DGCA requirements and Accessible India campaign by the Government of India. The training was attended by 24 personnel including those from CISF.

3 GVK AIRPORTS GVK MIAL releases Sustainability Report, 2018 Dr. GVK Reddy, Executive Chairman GVK MIAL, released the fourth biennial Sustainability Report 2018, on 14 December, 2018 in the presence of Mr G V Sanjay Reddy, Managing Director GVK MIAL, Mr. Krishna R Bhupal, Director GVK MIAL, Mr Rajeev Jain, CEO MIAL and HODs. The report is based on the theme, Coming Together for a Sustainable Tomorrow. It showcases performance and achievements for FY 17 and FY 18. Through this report, MIAL aims to keep its stakeholders informed regarding progress on vital sustainability issues such as climate change, safety & security, environment & health etc. to create value in the short, medium and long-term. MIAL is the first and only airport operator in India to publish it s Sustainability Report in the public domain. American Express new lounge at GVK CSMIA American Express has opened a new proprietary lounge at Terminal 2 of the CSMIA. This is the second proprietary lounge of American Express in India, after New Delhi. Access to the Mumbai Lounge and the broader American Express Global Lounge Collection is among an expansive suite of benefits designed to create a seamless travel experience for the Platinum and Centurion card members. Skin care, chest OPD at GVK CSMIA The medical team of GVK CSMIA conducted a skin and hair OPD in association with Dr Vandana Punjabi, Consultant Dermatologist, Trichologist & Cosmetologist from Nanavati Superspeciality Hospital. In all 25 people from MIAL and CISF attended the OPD. A chest (Asthma, Sleep Apnoea) and Smoking Cessation OPD was also organised in association with Dr Sumeet Singhania, Consultant - Pulmonary Medicine from Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital. Seven people from MIAL and CISF took benefit of the OPD.

4 GVK AIRPORTS Session on Changing Face of Transportation in Mumbai The L&D team of GVK CSMIA conducted a two-hour session on The Changing Face of Transportation in Mumbai: Mumbai Metro 3 on December 19, 2018 for the employees of MIAL. Ms. Ashwini Bhide, IAS, Managing Director, Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation Ltd (MMRC) was the speaker. Mumbai Metro 3, one of the most important corridors of this comprehensive network, is a fully underground 33.5 km long metro line from Colaba to Seepz via BKC with 26 underground stations being executed by the MMRC. This project is going to be an engineering marvel with the deployment of state-of-the-art technologies. GVK NMIAL team at RBT Seminar GVK NMIAL was the Gold sponsor of the national seminar on Rock Blasting Techniques (RBT) held at Dhanbad on November 23 & 24, 2018, which was organized by the Central Institute of Mining and Fuel Research (CIMFR). GVK NMIAL also presented a document on Safety guidelines and management for the construction of Navi Mumbai International Airport at the seminar. GVK NMIAL was represented by Mr. Russil Kumar, GM - Safety; Mr. A Ramalingeshwara Rao, GM - Quality Assurance; Mr. Rajnder Singh Walia, AGM - Project Construction; Mr. Jagdish Deshmukh, AGM - Project Construction and Mr. Ragesh Agrawal, Senior Manager - Project Construction. Representatives from 47 different companies participated in the seminar where 38 papers were presented. The theme of the seminar was rock fragmentation and blast design, environmental concern due to blasting, blast modelling and software application, advanced blasting techniques etc. Training session on AED The Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) team of GVK MIAL conducted a training session on the awareness and operation of Automated External Defibrillator (AED). The training was held at GVK MIAL project office on December 30, Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA) is one of the leading causes of death across the globe. Indians are at a higher risk because of their sedentary lifestyle, food habits and growing stress levels among the urban population. It is important to be able to handle a medical emergency like sudden cardiac arrest as it has been causing deaths per 1 lakh population since the last two years. AED is a life saver for restoring the regular heart rhythm during sudden cardiac arrest and it can save lives if made available within 4 to 7 minutes of the onset of ventricular fibrillation. GVK CSMIA welcomes Jet s Mumbai - Manchester route In a move to further enhance the seamless air connectivity offered to flyers, the GVK CSMIA has welcomed Jet Airways new non-stop service from Mumbai to Manchester. The new service is a manifestation of GVK CSMIA s commitment to continuously strengthen the connectivity for its passengers.

5 Training at Gautami CCPP A training programme on Chemical Safety and Personal Protective Equipment was conducted for the staff on November 16, The training was imparted by the Assistant Manager, E&C, Mr. K Vijaya Bhaskar and Safety Consultant Mr. B V Raghavlu. GVK ENERGY Safety training at Goindwal Sahib TPP The safety department of GVK Goindwal Sahib TPP organised a training programme on November 27, 2018, to create awareness about Hazard Identification & Risk Analysis. In all 28 employees participated in the programme conducted by Mr. R Mishra (AGM- HSE). In-house training at Shrinagar HEP Vanabhojanam at Jegurupadu CCPP Go Goindwal The GVK Goindwal Sahib TPP generated over 416 million units of electricity from October to November, Goindwal Sahib Thermal Power Plant is a 540 MW (2X270 MW) thermal power project located near Goindwal Sahib Village, District Tarn Taran in the state of Punjab. Shrinagar HEP generates over 4,999 mn units of electricity The GVK Alaknanda Hydro Power Company Ltd has generated and transmitted over 4,999 million units of electricity since it commenced operations in April, Shrinagar HEP is a run-of-the-river 330 MW Hydro Electric Project and is located in Tehri/Pauri Garhwal District of Uttarakhand on the Alaknanda river.

6 GVK HOSPITALITY Taj Banjara Eye check-up camp The HR team of Taj Banjara organized an eye check-up camp for all the associates. The camp was organized in collaboration with Titan Eye on November 23, Besides free counselling, the associates were offered all the mandatory eye tests. The day-long camp saw enthusiastic participation from the associates. Blood donation camp Taj Banjara organized a blood donation camp for all its associates recently. In all 32 employees donated 300 mm of blood each. The donation camp was organized in association with Red Cross Blood Bank. Taj Banjara outing for associates The HR team of Taj Banjara organized an outing for all its associates in the month of October. The associates were divided into batches and taken to a nearby resort to unwind and remix. Leonia Resort posed an excellent opportunity for the associates to release the stress and foster better relationships at work. It was a great effort to improve inter-departmental relationships.

7 GVK HOSPITALITY Taj Krishna Robot 2.0 style bash Taj Krishna organized birthday celebrations of its associates for the month of November, 2018 in the Robot 2.0 theme. All the associates were invited for the bash where everything was 2.0. Right from the 2.0 cake made by the bakery team to the décor in the room, everything was in Robot style. The associates enjoyed the celebrations. Graduation ceremony Striving their way to Engineering The engineering team at Taj Krishna never shies away to train and nurture new talent in their department. Recently, the new batch of students from Tata Strive Skill Development Centre was welcomed to train in the organization. Director of Engineering, Mr. Sharique Khurshid and his team left no stone unturned to make this training a success. The students of Tata Strive Skill Development Centre along with Mr. Kulbinder Singh (Assistant Director of Food and Beverages) and Mr. Sougata Ghosh and Mr. Amit Kumar (Banquet Managers) attended the Graduation Ceremony of Tata Strive Hospitality F&B Steward Course at Taj Krishna on December 4, The students received their certificates on successful completion of their industrial training program. The purpose of this program is to allow students to integrate their educational experience with professional knowledge and skills. Innovation leads to revolution, the Tata way The Indian Hotels Company Ltd (IHCL) organised a session on innovation to introduce and channelise the Tata Group s in-house program of TATA INNOVISTA, a platform to showcase innovation in design, processes, services etc. The session was organized at Taj Krishna wherein representatives from all Taj hotels in Hyderabad participated. Mr. Shambhu, who presided over the session, made every individual in the room work upon his innovative cells. The session concluded with the thought that innovation leads to a revolution.

8 GVK HOSPITALITY Vivanta by Taj Halloween Halloween, the ancient festival wherein people light bonfires and wear costumes to ward off ghosts, looked different at the Vivanta By Taj when the employees dressed up as ghosts to scare off their friends. All the associates were excited to watch the dramatic entry of the witch and wizards and get tricked by them. Every participant had a spooky style of entering into the hall along with some creepy music playing in the background, which created an air of fright and fun at the same time. Heroes of 26/11 Mumbai attacks remembered Vivanta By Taj held a commemorative ceremony to remember the heroes of 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks. One of the prominent places that were targeted in the attacks was the Taj Mahal Palace hotel where 32 people lost their lives. Among the 12 people were associates of Taj Group who guarded the hotel and the guests valiantly. In remembrance of these heroes, a commemorative ceremony was held to honour them and pray for the families. The proceedings included an all-religion prayer meet while the General Manager lit a candle in remembrance of the victims. Taj Santacruz Taj Santacruz celebrates 115 years of Taj Mahal Palace Taj Santacruz celebrated 115 years of Taj Mahal Palace on December 16, 2018 at the Rivea restaurant located in the lobby. The General Manager Mr. Pankaj Sampat along with the leadership team, the colleagues and the guests at the hotel joined the celebrations. The kids at the hotel were invited to cut the cake along with other guests and hotel colleagues. All the guests were thrilled to take the picture of the cake crafted by the Executive Chef of the Bakery, Ritesh Ranjan Singh and his team.

9 GVK BIO Recognition for GVK BIO GVK BIO was recognised as Telangana s Best Employer Brand 2018 for the second consecutive year by the Employer Branding Institute, India on November 16, 2018 GVK ONE Fire safety training at GVK ONE To enhance the preparedness of firefighting equipment, the GVK ONE Mall conducted a fire safety training recently. Deputy Manager (Safety), Mr. Siva Kumar conducted the training and apprised the staff of taking measures to prevent the spread of fire in the Mall. Similarly, classroom training was also conducted for GVK ONE Retailers, security & facility team. The 108 National Ambulance Service (NAS) saved 1 lakh lives since its inception in December, Of these, 52 per cent were females. The age-wise breakup revealed that the majority of the cases were in the age group of years. The state head of GVK EMRI, Mr. Mehul Sukumaran said that they provided medical help with trained paramedics, lifesaving equipment and drugs to patients at their doorsteps. The needy patients were also transported to the medical facility. Shimla district leads the district-wise data of lives saved (15,062) by the ambulance service till June, Even the tribal districts of Lahaul-Spiti and Kinnaur benefited from this service and 1,495 lives were saved. 10 GVK EMRI GVK EMRI TN team fight Cyclone Gaja valiantly The districts of Nagapattinam, Thiruvarur and Pudukottai in Tamil Nadu witnessed unprecedented devastation due to Cyclone Gaja on November 16, The cyclone left many homeless while the trees and crops were uprooted. It brought life to a grinding halt. The GVK EMRI Tamil Nadu team established alternate mobile and landline connectivity while associates were kept on high alert. The minister and other government officials were briefed about the preparedness of 108 and 104 by SHO Mr. Selvakumar M and OH Mr. Mohamed Bilal. The Principal Secretary for Health and Family Welfare, Government of Tamil Nadu also interacted with GVK EMRI associates. As part of relief and rescue operations, food and accommodation were organized in association with government officials while constant update and flow of information was maintained with the authorities. A special team from Chennai head office was also made available at the cyclone-hit districts to provide support to the field operations. GVK EMRI Haryana at livestock show The team from GVK EMRI Haryana participated in the state-level livestock show held at Jhajjar from December 21 to 23. The stall received a good response from the officials of the animal husbandry department, livestock owners and students. The Animal Husbandry Minister Mr. O. P. Dhankar visited GVK EMRI stall and observed the operations of the mobile veterinary clinic with hydraulic lift. The additional chief secretary Dr. Sunil Gulati informed that they want to start 1962 services with 40 vehicles initially. Of these, 20 vehicles with hydraulic lift will be used to lift and transport stray cattle on highways to gaushalas while remaining 20 vehicles will be used as mobile veterinary clinics.

11 GVK EMRI Goa Health Minister launches Health Helpline Goa Health Minister, Mr. Vishwajit Rane launched a dedicated toll-free health helpline at GVK EMRI in Goa on November 23, By dialling 104, any individual in the state can place grievance and get free medical information for the health-related schemes and facilities provided by the Goa Government. Additional Secretary (Health) Mr. Sunil Masurkar, Director of Health Services, Dr Sanjiv Dalvi, Head GVK EMRI Ms. Purti Patkar and others were present on the occasion. GVK EMRI Goa contract extended The Goa government has signed an MoU with GVK EMRI to extend the contract with the emergency service by another 10 years, till State Health Minister Mr. Vishwajit Rane signed the MoU in the presence of senior officials of the GVK EMRI and government officials, including health secretary Mr. Ashok Kumar. This year, GVK EMRI made few additions in the state, including cardiac ambulances, VIP ambulances and motorcycle ambulances to provide quick medical service to the people. The motorcycle ambulance pilots are trained to take care of the patients till the 108 ambulance arrives or alternative arrangement is made. The two-wheeler is equipped with a first-aid box and a small oxygen cylinder. The cardiac ambulance staff is trained by the Goa Medical College (GMC).
