2 a corporate e-zine Pulse Polio immunization conducted at GVK MIAL GVK MIAL in association with Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai (MCGM) conducted a Pulse Polio immunization drive on 17 January at GVK CSIA. Several immunization booths were set up at the airport under the supervision of MIAL Medical Services Department and MCGM. Under this initiative, 400 children (below the age of five years) were vaccinated. GVK MIAL has been actively participating in all Pulse Polio immunization drives since 2010 and immunized more than 5000 children travelling though GVK CSIA till date. Children receiving the pulse polio vaccination at GVK CSIA GVK CSIA introduces Basic Cargo Awareness Program GVK CSIA has introduced a Basic Cargo Awareness Program to impart training on air cargo operations and processes. The event was inaugurated by Hon ble Dr Renu Singh Parmar, Economic Advisor to the Ministry of Civil Aviation amidst representatives from the cargo fraternity. Dr Parmar also unveiled the IATA accredited certificates for The Dangerous Goods Regulations Training Program conducted by the Cargo division.this training program has recently received IATA accreditation. 3 a corporate e-zine Spot GVK CSIA GVK CSIA rewarded Mr Vaibhav Barange, a wheel-chair assistant staff from Livewell who helped an elderly passenger and made her feel comfortable at the airport.he was given a spot award of Rs and an appreciation letter from GVK MIAL.The Spot Award is an instant form of appreciation for internal and external employees exceptional service at the airport. GVK KIAB screens for Zika virus GVK KIAB in association with the State Health Department intensified the screening for Zika virus carriers at the airport. The health department deputed two doctors and paramedical staff each from Bengaluru Urban and Rural at the airport to assist the airport doctors. The screening involved detection for the yellow fever, which is one of the five diseases spread from the aedes aegypti mosquito. The others are dengue, chikungunya, West Nile fever and Zika. Newberry addressing the audience GVK EMRI- Assam conducts CME Program GVK EMRI-Assam in collaboration with Stanford University School of Medicine conducted a CME (Continuing Medical Education) Program on 9 February 2016 at Guwahati Medical College and Hospital, Assam. Renowned Emergency Physician - Dr Jennifer. A. Newberry of Stanford University School of Medicine, USA was the speaker and resource person. The CME had covered the topics Eclampsia/ Preeclampsia, Pulmonary Embolus & cardiac Resuscitation, Approach to Trauma in Pregnancy & Post- Partum hemorrhage and use of NASG. GVK EMRI Tamil Nadu flags off bike ambulances Hon ble CM of Tamil Nadu Ms J Jayalalitha flagged off 41 two-wheeler ambulances including 31 motorcycles and 10 scooters - fitted with the necessary equipment required for providing quality first-aid to victims.these bike ambulances will help improve GVK EMRI s response time in handling various emergency cases. It was a perfect platform to showcase GVK BIO s capabilities in Drug Discovery and Development services as the event attracted over 700+ corporates from 50+ countries and was participated by more than 10,000 visitors including university scientists and academics, experts from the pharma and chemical industry, representatives of venture capital enterprises and political decision makers.

The session was conducted by Mr Yusuf Garai, a renowned trainer. He shared his insights on the importance of work life balance including productivity, health and morale of employees etc. The session was appreciated by all the employees who requested for more such sessions in future. 7 Significant Days of the Month World Kidney Day (10 March) World Kidney Day (WKD) is a global health awareness campaign focusing on the importance of the kidneys and reducing the frequency and impact of kidney disease and its associated health problems worldwide. It is observed annually on the 2 nd Thursday in March. Various awareness campaigns are conducted worldwide in form of conferences, seminars, marathon, competetitions, fund raising etc. World Sleep Day (18 March) World Sleep Day is an annual event, intended to be a celebration of sleep and a call to action on important issues related to sleep, including medicine, education, social aspects and driving. The day was established by the World Sleep Day Committee of the World Association of Sleep Medicine aiming to celebrate the benefits of good and healthy sleep. World Water Day (22 March) World Water Day is celebrated on 22 March to raise awareness on the importance of freshwater and advocates for the sustainable management of freshwater resources. The UN and its member nations devote this day in implementing UN recommendations and promoting concrete activities within their countries regarding the world s water resources. Holi (24 March) Holi is celebrated with great enthusiasm on the full moon day in the month of Phalgun which is the month of March as per the Gregorian calendar.the festival marks the arrival of spring season and therefore is a festival of gaiety that is celebrated with colours. It is thus a celebration of joy and hope amongst people across all sections of society. Good Friday (25 March) Good Friday is observed on the Friday before Easter Sunday. On this day Christians commemorate the passion, or suffering, and death on the cross of the Lord, Jesus Christ.Many Christians spend this day in fasting, prayer, repentance, and meditation on the agony and suffering of Christ on the cross. Easter( 27 March) Easter celebrates the central event of the Christian faith: the resurrection of Jesus Christ three days after his death by crucifixion. The day involves Easter Eggs for toys and candy as well as the imagery of bunnies and rabbits. Easter falls on Sunday after Good Friday.
