In addition to the four most common disorders discussed in MHFA BASIC, this course includes instruction about eating disorders and deliberate self-injury. First aid is not a replacement for going to your vet, but handling emergency situations properly right at the beginning can help you recognize problems early and act on them quickly. The courses are student oriented with pre-course self-study and evaluation, lots of hands-on scenarios, skills stations and realistic practical sessions to maximize relevance. JULY DAY TIME LOCATION 9-13 Mon - Fri 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM Hanover th Street Youth Farm Safety Seminars A fun 3 to 4 hour program for youth ages 5 11 years Designed for children who live on a farm, frequently visit a farm or help out with farm chores. Content includes a focus on farming hazards such as tractor and machinery dangers, staying safe around livestock, ATV dangers, water, electrical and chemical hazards. Children will receive an introduction to basic first aid skills and learn how to treat injuries such as choking, wound care, burn care, poisoning, severe allergic reactions and sprains.
