Sabre FPM Sabre FPM (Flight Plan Manager) is the primary method of downloading the operational flight plan for a flight. Any flight a pilot is scheduled to work will appear automatically. Step Action 1 Begin by navigating to CCS > Flight Planning > Sabre FPM. 9

2 A new browser window will open with the following search screen displayed. 10

3 1. FLNr Flight number for your flight 2. OriginDate Origination date of the flight 3. Origin Departure station 4. StaOcc Station Occurrence (if multiple occurrences of a station for one flight). 5. Released Flight Date Date of the available flight 6. Released Flights Flight with OFP available to view 7. Next Displays the next screen 11

4 A flight to which a pilot is assigned with a current dispatch release will automatically appear under Released Flights. The bracketed number denotes the current release number for the flight ([1] indicates release 1, [2] indicates release 2, etc.) If you do not see your assigned flight, be sure you select the correct Zulu date in the Released Flight Date box. Note: multiple flights may appear in this window, depending on the time the request is made. Ensure desired flight is selected. 12

5 Highlight the desired flight with your cursor and select Next. 6 The operational flight plan (OFP) will appear for the selected flight. Tabs across the top and bottom of the screen display various flight information, and are defined below. 13

7 The OFP tab displays the operational flight plan for the selected flight. Use the scroll bar to view the flight plan, or select one of the options below for alternate viewing options. 14

8 1. Print OFP Opens a new window showing only the operational flight plan without other release packet information. 2. Print All Opens a new window showing all release packet information, including NOTAMS, weather, maintenance information, etc. 3. Print Diff Allows a different release to be printed. Print Diff is useful for flights with multiple release versions created by dispatch. 4. Release Indicates whether the captain assigned to the flight has accepted the release. 15

9 The Notam tab shows all active Notice to Airman (NOTAM) for the specific flight. 16

10 1. NOTAM box All current NOTAMs are available to view in this box. Use the scroll bar to navigate various sections. 2. Print Notams Opens a new window showing only the applicable NOTAMs to the current flight. 3. Print All Opens a new window showing all release packet information, including NOTAMs, weather, maintenance information, etc. 4. Print Diff Allows a different release to be printed. Print Diff is useful for flights with multiple release versions created by dispatch. 17

11 Also included along the left side of the Notam tab is a box containing links to various categories of Notams. Selecting any link will automatically scroll the Notam box to the corresponding list of Notams. 18

12 Selecting the Map tab will display a window showing the flight map, which may be customized to show various pieces of information for reference enroute. 19

13 Use the checkboxes to select information to be printed on the map and select Request. The desired information will display on the map. 1. Enrt Altn Will display Enroute Alternates on the map 2. FIR s Will display Flight Information Region boundary lines on the map. These are the boundaries of the various Enroute Center Control facilities the flight will encounter 3. Dest Altn Displays the destination alternate, if an alternate exists 4. Upperwind Displays upper-level wind information in the form of flags on the map 5. OWA Areas Over Water Allowed Areas. Not currently available via CCS Flight Plan Manager, but is used by Dispatch to define where certain flights may operate over water, based on United s OPSPECS. 20

14 After requesting the desired information, select Print Map. For this example, Enrt Altn, and FIRs have been selected. In this case, the map displays the route of flight in black with individual waypoints, enroute alternates in blue (with circles denoting 60 minutes of flying time from the alternate), and FIR boundaries in magenta. 21

15 Selecting the SIG Chart tab will show the significant weather chart, with route of flight displayed on the chart. 16 Use the dropdown menu to select the desired worldwide significant weather chart and select Request. In this example, the current Conus (Contiguous United States) chart has been selected for a domestic flight. 22

17 After the appropriate chart has been requested, select Print SIG Chart. 23

18 Printing the SIG chart will display the desired weather chart. A legend is located in the bottom right corner of the map, defining various weather symbols including turbulence/thunderstorm intensities, volcanic ash location, wind direction/speed, jetstream location, tropopause height, ozone concentration, and tropical systems. 24

19 The Weather tab allows a full or partial weather packet to be viewed and printed, with checkboxes provided to customize desired information. Select Request after checking the appropriate boxes to display weather packet. 25

Analyzed Contingency Fuel (ACF) Analyzed Contingency Fuel (ACF) provides an analysis of historical data comparing planned block fuel to actual block fuel for every flight operated by United Airlines. Analyzed contingency fuel is automatically added to all flight plans. See FOM for additional ACF information. Step Action 1 Begin by navigating to CCS > Flight Planning > Analyzed Contingency Fuel (ACF). 34

2 Selecting Analyzed Contingency Fuel in CCS will redirect you to a new website: Filling in the appropriate information will narrow the ACF search, if ALL is used, a report will generate for ALL flights. 35

3 1 Carrier Airline operating the flight 2 Eqp Aircraft type operating the flight 3 Order Organizes search results by specified category 4 Origin Departure station 5 Destination Arrival station 6 Flight Number Flight number of a specific flight 4 The basis of the generated report is a comparison between planned fuel burn and actual fuel burn for each flight. The difference in these two values is known as the Analyzed Contingency Fuel value for the selected flight. The first seven columns of the report correspond to the information entered in the search function, while the remaining columns show ACF values, sample sizes used for ACF information, etc. 36

th Percentile 90% confidence level (standard coverage). Time Amount of fuel burn deviation in minutes of endurance, required to cover the flight with 90th percentile confidence level. Fuel Amount of endurance converted into pounds of fuel, based on respective sample size avg. fleet landing weight th Percentile 99% confidence level (maximum coverage). 3. Statistics Information regarding statistical data used to calculate ACF values. Each category is defined below. Sample Size Number of flights used for ACF values. Data is tracked over a two-year period and is specific to fleet, city pair, and time of day. Avg. BDE Average Burn Deviation. This shows the average number of minutes each flight deviated from planned fuel over the previous 60 days. A positive value indicates an over-burn; while a negative value indicates an under-burn (ex indicates the flight burned 4.29 minutes of fuel more than planned, while indicates the flight burned 6.93 minutes of fuel less than planned). Std. Dev. Standard Deviation fuel burn of all flights over the previous 60 days. 4. Source Defines the source for ACF data, and is categorized by F (flight data), A (arrival airport data), and T (Pacing/Non-Pacing values). ACF values are only applied to a flight when categorized with an F. 5. INTL Domestic flights are denoted with an N. International flights are denoted with a Y. 6. ARF APRVD Flight is approved for PBCF (OPSPEC B343) 37

6 ACF90 is generally used as a baseline dispatch planning value, with ACF99 used when thunderstorms are forecast at the destination airport. Extra fuel may be added to the OFP above ACF values, but will rarely exceed ACF99. ACF will automatically be included in the operational flight plan and will be labeled as either ACF90 or ACF99 on the fuel ladder. 7 You have successfully completed the steps for Analyzed Contingency Fuel (ACF). End of procedure. 38
