2. What s new or changed? NEW: Setting for showing Adequate Airports on ETP/ETOPS charts With the PPS we introduced the ETP charts including the adequate airports. We have received several request to make this as a setting as not all customers would like to have this default. We introduce with this new version a setting to fulfill this request General Setting If you want to have adequate airports shown with circles on the ETP/ETOPS chart then you need to insert a code called PAC in Setup Flight Plan. 1. Rightclick on PPS Tray 2. Select Settings 3. Select PPS Miscellaneous 4. Select 2. Setup Flight Plan 5. In the line Flight plan ver you add PAC and save this Specific aircraft If you wish only to have the adequate airports shown with circles on the ETP/ETOPS chart then you need to insert the code PAC in the aircraft file. 1. Open PPS8 2. Select Data 3. Select Edit Aircraft Configurations 4. Select the aircraft 5. Select 1. General info 6. In the line Flight plan ver (4-2) add PAC NEW: Warning if no route selected to ALTN(s) If RouteToAlternate is set to True In the Settings >> PPS Program >> Main Program And you don t select a route to your ALTN(s) in the Route guide item, a warning will appear. AIR SUPPORT A/S Issue date: 03/02/2017 Page 4 of 13
If you press OK then the calculations will be based on DCT to your ALTN. If you press Cancel, then you can select the Tab called ALTN1 Routes in this example and select the routing which you would like to have the calculations based on. NEW: New time period available in Flightlist 2 new time periods next 14 days and next 90 days has been added NEW: 2 FAQ has been added technical & flightplanning Under Manuals PPS Tech FAQ has been added. This contains most common technical problems & error with the PPS8 program PPS flightplanning FAQ contains most commonly asked question from users NEW: Extension of APTDATA.csv It is now possible to have either SID or STAR designator filed for individual airports. The general setting IncludeSIDSTARInATC in Settings >> PPS Program >> Main Program must be set to False for this to work. If the setting is True, then the setting for individual airports is disregarded and both SID and STAR is used for all airports. If the setting IncludeSIDSTARInATC is set to False, then a SID will be used in the ATC flight plan if SID/STAR In ATC is set with Y for the departure airport in APTDATA.csv AIR SUPPORT A/S Issue date: 03/02/2017 Page 5 of 13
If the setting IncludeSIDSTARInATC is set to False, then a STAR will be used in the ATC flight plan if SID/STAR In ATC is set with Y for the arrival airport in APTDATA.csv In the above example will a flight with Departure EKBI be filed with the SID in the ATC and with Destination EKCH the STAR for EKCH will be filled in ATC. NEW: More information added in the SID/STAR selection box (example is for SID for EKBI). NEW: New map layout in minimap In the PPS8 Options (User) >> Corporate Data, there is a new setting FIR in the minimap. AIR SUPPORT A/S Issue date: 03/02/2017 Page 6 of 13
Which will change the layout of the minimap to a map including the FIR. NEW: Mach number in NAV section A new code for showing the MACH number/speed in NAV section has been added. The code is MCH which needed to inserted in the NAV section of your Operational Flight Plan. AIR SUPPORT A/S Issue date: 03/02/2017 Page 7 of 13
AMEXSY FPL Viewer in Refresh mode Customers have experienced that whenever sending a DLA/CNL, the AMEXSY FPL Viewer went into a sort of Refresh mode and they have to close the AMEXSY FPL Viewer and reopen to see the that the system did sent a DLA/CNL etc. This is solved. AeroData runway analysis error When opening a flight from CrewBriefing flight list the possibilities to make a Runway Analysis using AeroData integration was inactive, is now active in this new version. Border Intersection and permit.csv If subscribing to the Border Intersection module the issue with RMK/ from permit.csv, where the RMK/ is not transferred to RMK/ in the ATC flight plan is now solved. *ETOPS1 format error The PPS system will now take the highest of the input fields in the ETOPS range specifier from the AC6 aircraft file, instead of just the first field and display that in the *ETOPS1 format. *ETOPS2 unreadable if more than 4 ETOPS alternates If planning with more than 4 ETOPS alternates and using the *ETOPS2 format, the format was unreadable. This issue is now solved. AIR SUPPORT A/S Issue date: 03/02/2017 Page 8 of 13
Minimap: Show calculated airport has been removed When selecting the adequate airport in the minimap, PPS will show the calculated ADQ airports it has selected from either the ADQ airport list from PPS or from the user defined list in data-> dataeditor ADEQUATE.csv In accordance with the distance NM specified in the aircraft file. FastRouting: Userdefined waypoint The Ident of a userdefined waypoint can now only be 5 characters instead of 6 characters, so there is an alignment between FastRouting and the usernav.csv for Ident. Autoupload: Item 18 in ATC The order of the items in Item 18 of the ATC flight plan has been adjusted, so the order is in correct order according to ICAO. AIR SUPPORT A/S Issue date: 03/02/2017 Page 9 of 13
Negative fuel figures ETOPS On the Operational Flight Plan on certain circumstances a negative fuel figure for the MRED and MREQ code is shown if additional fuel was added. This is solved. AMEXSY FPL Viewer The AMEXSY FPL Viewer did not refresh in previous version of PPS 1.6.1xx. It works correctly again. PPS Price calculation Module crash When searching for an airport during a quotation, the PPS Price Calculation could crash. This problem is solved. Charts The option Charts will display the new coloured wind charts and updated chart concerning Cross section chart similar to the charts released for CrewBriefing version Changing aircraft If changing aircraft in the Basic section in the Flight Data guide item, following has been solved: FLT NO If changing aircraft, the FLT NO changed to either blank or to the IDENT field from the aircraft database. This has been solved and the FLT NO will remain when opening a flight from either the schedule or the CrewBriefing flight list. The same for clashing callsign. If changing aircraft and the flight has Clashing callsign, the callsign/flt no disappears. This is solved and the callsign will remain Configuration If changing aircraft the configuration for the aircraft field turns blank and has to be selected despite settings in ACCONFIG.csv. This has been solved Passenger If changing aircraft and the flight has passenger in Male, Female, etc. then in the M&B guide item the passenger will be changed to 0 for Male, Female etc. This is solved and the passenger will remain divided in Male, Female etc Minimum contingency fuel If changing aircraft the minimum contingency fuel from the aircraft data will not change. This is solved and when changing aircraft the minimum contingency fuel will be loaded from the new aircraft. AIR SUPPORT A/S Issue date: 03/02/2017 Page 10 of 13
PDR shows correct unit for ELM If using the PDR code for Replanning in Flight which can be set in Settings >> Miscellaneous >> Setup Flightplan >> Flightplan ver. It will now show the weight unit as defined for the aircraft concerning ELM and not just in Lbs. FL0 for alternate when opening a flight from Schedule Flightlist If the schedule flightlist is feed with data from a scheduling system and the data contains an alternate, the FL will when opening the flight from the Schedule Flightlist be 0. This has been solved, so PPS will calculate an FL to alternate. SID/STAR distances in APTDATA.csv If SID/STAR distances has been entered in the APTDATA.csv for specific airports, then PPS will calculate for SID a DCT distance from airport to first waypoint and add the SID distances entered in APTDATA.csv for the particular airport. For STAR it will be a DCT from last point to the airport and add STAR distances entered in the APTDATA.csv for the particular airport. NOTE: Distances entered in the APTDATA.csv will overrule even though planning with a SID/STAR for the airports specified in APTDATA.csv for those where SID and/or STAR distances has been entered. Next leg cargo error If planning with next leg during manual flightplanning the cargo load from leg 1 is not transferred correctly to leg 2. This is now solved so the cargoload is similar to leg 1. AIR SUPPORT A/S Issue date: 03/02/2017 Page 11 of 13
Takeoff alternate cannot be the same as destination airport This problem is solved, so your destination airport can be selected as takeoff alternate. *ROUTN Route remarks The starcode on the Operational Flight Plan *ROUTN is now working when opening a flight from the CrewBriefing Flightlist. AFTN addressing departing Israel According to authorities of Israel the only address for departing Israel is LLBGYDYX and the ARO (Aerodrome Reporting Office) for departure airport is responsible for filling the FPL accordingly. This result in that PPS8 only will file to the departure airport and not for the entire flight when filing via AMEXSY when departure is inside Israel. ETOPS FL error When using Optimum FL and planning a ETOPS flight but changing the FL manuallly, then the ETOPS diversion plans remains at the optimum FL. This has been solved so the planned FL are reflected in the ETOPS diversion plans. ETP points The ETP points is shown in ATC flight plan item 18. This is solved and the ETP points is not shown in the item 18 of the ATC flight plan 6322N waypoint The waypoint 6322N used for e.g. departing Iceland is not changed into a coordinate in the ATC Flight plan. This has been solved. Wrong FL to alternate in Kazakhstan FIR Due to wrong cruising table, FL for alternate was incorrect. It is now solved. 3. Known issues / Limitations / Changes Occasionally ICAO identifier will not match the country name with the border section calculation (the plain country name will still always be correct) If copying a flight from the flight list the STA will remain as the original uploaded calculation. Designated STAR s selected by PPS for airport: LIRF/FCO might be incorrect for some arrivals. Manual selection must be done by user Any manual changes made to AFTN addresses during the planning phase will be reset if a the route is being changed Only 1 STAY in the route can be inserted if inserting more than 1, it will not work EET s will only be included in the ATC plan if IncludeFIREET is activated in settings If creating a custom route the SID/STAR selection box will not display any procedures Users can experience that occasionally RAIM will not calculate when the setting FSS is activated Workaround is to temporary activate LSS and RAIM will then calculate. Isolated aerodrome procedure does not work with Refresh / Recalc on CrewBriefing AIR SUPPORT A/S Issue date: 03/02/2017 Page 12 of 13
ALTN2 as info only does not work with Refresh / Recalc on CrewBriefing ALTN2 with FAA rules does not work with Refresh / Recalc on CrewBriefing If routes are stored with Flight Level Cap, they will not be visible in the ROUTE Guide item unless the selected Flight level is within the level cap If auto-offload of cargo is required with Auto-dispatch to stay within limits, the code OLD must be added in the #4#2 settings of PPS AIR SUPPORT A/S Issue date: 03/02/2017 Page 13 of 13
