4 Travel Tips Travel with light baggage as bulky baggage spoils the comfort. Please carry warm clothes for Genting Highlands (if travelling) according to the duration of the stay. Sunglasses, Beach wear / Swimming Costume, Umbrella and mosquito repellent should to be carried along. Carry a first aid kit. Keep emergency helpline numbers and local tour operator's contact numbers always with you. Keep your hotel address & contact number handy. Do not carry open food. Travel insurance is strongly recommended. Take emergency helpline numbers from tour guide after reaching respective destination. Weather Conditions Kindly check weather condition of your destination country before traveling. This service is provided by many web sites like Google, MSN, BBC etc. one of the link given below for weather update. Being familiar with the prevailing weather conditions would help you to pack appropriately for your trip. Ticket Reconfirmation Guests are advised to reconfirm and recheck the return and onward tickets 72 hours prior to the flight departure. 4

5 Travel Documents Before Leaving for Airport Please ensure that you are carrying all the necessary travel documents - Passport with a minimum validity of six months from date of return, requisite visa, air tickets, hotel voucher, foreign exchange, travel insurance and other travel related documents. Please check your photograph on the visa for correctness. Please provide your itinerary & contact details during travel abroad to your family members / relatives prior to initiating tour. In case there is no contact number of yours, please provide your local tour operator / hotel contact details. Please ensure that you have checked the correct departure terminal for your flight, as most modern airports have several terminals, and reaching the wrong departure terminal could result in last minute panic and you may miss your flight too. Guest Check-In Airport Instructions Please note guests traveling in a group or individual basis to international or domestic destination will need to check in on their own. Guests are required to check in at least 3-4 hrs prior international flight departure & 2 hrs prior domestic flight departures. However, some airports may require an earlier check-in depending on the security requirements. Reporting at the check-in counter later than the stipulated counter closing time may result in a passenger being denied check-in by the airline, and no refund would be applicable on the ticket / package costs, as this would technically amount to a no-show. 5

6 Baggage Check-In * We strongly suggest avoiding carriage of bulky baggage as it causes inconvenience during travel. Generally maximum baggage allowed per guest is 20kg for check-in & 5kg for hand baggage. (Subject to change. Please refer your air ticket and your airlines for exact information.) Please check your air ticket for baggage instruction in case you are traveling on a low cost airline (Some of the low cost airlines serving Asian region are AIR ASIA, TIGER AIRWAYS, BANGKOK AIRWAYS, and FIRE FLIES ETC). Usually such airlines have a lower baggage allowance and stringent charges for excess baggage. Liquid / Gel type items like all types of cosmetics, perfumes/after shave lotions, toothpastes, Gels, batteries, packed food or any other type of liquid /fluids are restricted for carriage in hand baggage, and it is advisable to keep such items in check-in baggage in order to avoid any inconvenience caused due to rigorous security checks. Please note that the maximum combined quantity of all such items, if being carried in hand baggage, should not exceed 100 ml in total, and must be packed in a clear, see-through zip-pouch. Medicines are allowed in hand-baggage with a doctor's prescription, if necessary for the flight. Baby food/milk etc, for use by infants during a flight, is permitted, in limited quantity. Visa on Arrival Please be advised that a Visa-On-Arrival facility is initiated by some countries and this facility is purely a privilege granted by the host country, and cannot be taken as a matter of right. It is entirely the discretion of local immigration authority at the airport of arrival. We must inform you that travel agents and tour operators do not have any jurisdiction in this matter, and neither can they guarantee the entrance to any country. Also please check the documents required to avail this facility. Please carry 3 passport-size recent color photographs with a white background, in case you are applying for Thailand Visa on Arrival. 6

7 Minimum Currency required for International Travel Guests are required to carry adequate / sufficient foreign currency for all international travel. USD 100 or equivalent foreign exchange per person per day is advisable (It is also the minimum requirement to enter in Mauritius, Thailand and most of the Asian countries). We recommend a sum of USD 1000 or equivalent per person for trip of about 5/6 days is advisable. Foreign Exchange Buying / Selling Rules As Per Reserve Bank of India (RBI) Guidelines General Buying Rules for Travelers (these are just general guidelines for more accuracy and latest updates please visit RBI website and contact them at the contact details given on the official website of RBI) A person can avail of USD 10,000 or equivalent foreign currency during a financial year under Basic Travel Quota (BTQ). The maximum amount permissible in cash currency notes is USD 2000 Per Trip. Any amount over and above this amount should be in the form of Travelers Cheques. Exchange for such visits would be available on self declaration basis. A person can buy foreign currency up to INR 50,000/- in cash for International Travel. In case the exchange amount exceeds INR 50,000/- the whole payment should be through Demand Draft or Pay Order. Documents required for buying foreign exchange: Valid Passport, Visa, and Confirmed Air Ticket. An Indian Traveler can't carry more than INR 5,000/- in Indian Currency on an International Tour. General Selling Rule for Travelers Indian passport holder can convert any amount of foreign currency to Indian Rupees subject to RBI guidelines and rules & regulations. Any govt. issued identity card is required to convert any foreign currency below USD 5000 or equivalent amount. If amount exceeds USD 5000, currency declaration form issued by custom authority is required with identity card. 7

Before check-in some of the hotels may ask you for refundable deposit as security against use of facilities not included in your package, for example, mini-bar, telephone, valet service, parking charges etc. Mini Bar Some of the hotels provide the Mini bar in the room. Consumption of Mini bar items is generally chargeable, and is not a part of the package. We strongly recommend that you check the prices with the hotel before consuming the items. Do not replace the consume items with similar items purchase from market. Security Deposit Most of the hotels at the time of Check-In, charge security deposit which is refundable at the time of checkout from the hotel. The Security Deposit amount will be decided by hotel as per their policies. 8

9 Bedding Configuration Most of the hotels provide twin beds in the rooms. A Double-bed is subject to availability at the time of check-in. There is no provision for an extra bed in the room at Genting. It is strictly subject to availability upon arrival, if requested. In case of stay on triple sharing basis, double bed room will be provided with roll away beds. Drinking Water In some countries, hotels may claim that the tap water used is fit for drinking but we strongly recommend mineral water which can easily be procured from airports as well as at all leading stores at a nominal cost. Travel Insurance Guests traveling to foreign countries are advised to take travel insurance. Please know your policy before buying it. Littering is heavily fined in most of the foreign countries. Please follow the law of the land. 9

10 Travel Tips for Mauritius Evenings are at times cold and windy in Mauritius. It is suggested to carry along windcheaters. For guests traveling to Mauritius, we suggest converting foreign exchange upon arrival at Mauritius airport, where several bank counters are available, as better conversion rates are available there. It is also advisable to reconvert to US Dollars at Mauritius airport at the time of your return, as Mauritian currency is not convertible in India. Guests traveling to Mauritius are advised to buy mineral water from Mauritius Airport as free mineral water provided by some hotels may not be adequate to meet your normal daily requirement. Special Instructions for guests traveling by Sri Lankan Airlines In case of stopover in Colombo, Guests traveling by Sri Lankan airline are recommended to check-in luggage up to final destination if permitted by the airline authorities at boarding airport and travel with handbags during Colombo stay. Guests traveling by Sri Lankan Airlines are requested to proceed to the hotel stop / transit / Sri Lankan hotel counter or take assistance of Sri Lankan airlines staff for hotel stay. Please present your air ticket along with the airlines itinerary printout that specifies hotel stay. Important Note: Colombo stay is courtesy of Sri Lankan Airline. Please note necessary charges, relevant airport taxes wherever applicable and charges for any amendments in group booking have already been collected in order to facilitate this stay. 10

Wherever a component of service is undeliverable due to any reason, it shall be refunded or replaced by alternate similar service. Know your Package We would like to request you to kindly spare some time to become familiar with the package that you have purchased, as this would help you to understand your services better. Terminology Definition/ Meaning SIC (Seat in Coach) SIC Tour and transfers stands for Seat-in-Coach Tour, which effectively means that you will share a vehicle/ coach with other tourists. Passengers may have to wait for other passengers at each pick up point. Up to 40 seater coaches operated by independent transporter covering 3-4 hotels in each leg. Time bound, No Waiting time. This means that if a guest fails to show up within reasonable time frame from the appointed time, the coach may leave without the guest. Pickup and Drop off points are rigid & fixed. Coaches may not drop you to your exact hotel. Local tour operator can use the feeder bus services to pick or drop you to the final destination. Compared with Private tours, SIC tours are usually less expensive, but Private tours are more flexible. Private Vehicle In private tour you will be provided a vehicle for point to point journey e.g. Airport to hotel or vice versa. Due to parking time restrictions, and subsequent engagements, the vehicle will wait for a very limited time for pickups. If you take our private package, you will travel separately from other tourists when sightseeing and transferring except in some conditions. Unless or until specified very clearly with words PRIVATE all tours in travel industry are considered as SIC or Shared Transport basis. 11

12 Terminology Vehicle at Disposal Group Tour Definition/ Meaning A vehicle with a driver will be at your disposal for maximum of 8 hrs a day within the city limits. Unless you have specified and booked a private tour, by default they are either considered group or SIC (Seat-in-Coach). Group can be of any size from 4-40 Persons. A shared transport is involved in group travels. Generally Readymade Packages. Group packages cannot be customized/ tailor-made, and have very little room for deviation. Group packages have the following Pros & Cons: Pros You get company of other passengers. Highly cost effective. Generally more inclusions. Eg: Dinner. Preplanned, convenient as services are automatically delivered with assistance. Cons There could be a delay in the movement. You have to accommodate each other. Sightseeing time spent & duration is for public at large. Specific individual requests may not be met. Generally, there is a significant difference between the costs of SIC and private transfers. For instance difference in Thailand 4 Nights Package is Rs.7, 000 per person. In Malaysia & Singapore 11 Nights Package the cost difference is Rs. 20,000 per person. 12

13 Dress Code Code of Conduct and legal liabilities Please be advised that whilst casual wear is normally acceptable during sight-seeing, certain restaurants or places may have a dress-code in place, which needs to be respected. For example, some restaurants may not permit shorts, chappals and sandals during dinner-time. We request you to kindly adhere to such requirements and be dressed accordingly. Use of foul language & Aggressive Behavior Our language is a sign of our upbringing. Respect begets respect, and may we gently remind you that whilst on the tour you would be sharing your transportation as well as dining spaces with several others, and as such, it would be advisable to bear in mind the sensibilities of our fellow travelers, particularly ladies and elderly people. Needles to say that foul language/ aggressive behavior is neither expected, not tolerated from any person, and any violation of this norm could lead to the person being expelled from the tour without the right of any refund whatsoever and the affected party or person has the right to initiate suitable legal action according to law of the land. Respect the Customs & Culture of Local People As responsible Indians, we are all brand-ambassadors of our own country and culture, and as such, it is our moral duty to observe and respect the cultures and customs of the host country, so as not to offend anyone. One would feel more welcome if one respects the hosts. Making fun of any one's customs or culture would leave a bad impression of India and Indians, and we should do our utmost to ensure that we project the right image of India and Indians. Additional charges are applicable for any extra services other than tour package. Example: Medical services, legal assistance, etc. Shouting, raising slogans, losing tempers doesn't help the cause. 13
