Evidence Based Training (EBT) emerged from an industry INNOVATION consensus that a strategic review of airline training was necessary. The outcome of this review is a new system of training that aims to develop key pilot competences, rather than just to practice failure scenarios. ICAO and IATA have published guidance on EBT but operator s need to ensure that their training programmes comply with regulatory requirements. This presentation will introduce EBT, provide an overview of the latest regulatory developments and explain the next steps that operators need to take to implement EBT. It is achieved by sharing, maintaining and using a unique end-to-end trajectory for the flight which is a balance between optimising flight and network efficiencies. In thispresentation Eurocontrol provides the latest news on the TBO concept and especially on the first step; the implementation of Flight and Flow Informtion for a Collaborative Environment (FF-ICE/1). FF-ICE/1 will enable sharing of flight information, including the 4D trajectory, between aircraft operator and ATC. This presentation will CONNECTIVITY outline these updates including RCP/RSP requirements over the North Atlantic, FANS 1/A+ proposals for the Mastricht area, roll out of DCLs and forthcoming en-route CPDLC in continental North America and an update on the implications to operators resulting from the ELSA report on CPDLC in Europe. The technology supports the new FAA rule which enables significant operational credit to airlines operating using EFVS technology. The Wearable HUD, as part of an EFVS system, displays to the pilot high resolution enhanced video, synthetic vision and guidance symbols, on a high-transparency. Airlines operating under the new FAA rule will receive operational credit for dispatch to below the minima airport, relief from approach bn and enhanced vision operation all the way to landing. The wearable technology is cost effective and easy to install, which makes it an affordable solution to retrofit. With Global Space-Based ADS-B tracking, there will be complete and seamless tracking of aircraft movements across the entire globe including over polar, oceans and remote regions.
