It was a pleasure to see those able to come to the recent housewarming party and we look forward to seeing visitors from Cymuned Pennant any time in the future. Nodyn byr i ddweud diolch yn fawr iawn iawn am eich dymuniadau da, cardiau ac anrhegion i ddathlu ein t ŷ newydd. Yr oedd yn bleser i weld yr rhai yr oedd yn gallu dod i r parti cynhesu r t ŷ diweddar ac edrychem ymlaen at weld ymwelwyr o Gymuned Pennant unrhyw bryd yn y dyfodol. Best wishes Annmarie & David WORK AT CENTRE If you feel that you can lend a hand come along to the Community Centre from 9.30am until 4.00pm on either Monday 7 th & Tuesday 8 th August, We will be lowering the pillars at the roadside; Removing the remaining inner pillar and lowering the walls on the access; Fixing the leak in the roof in the extension, by the toilets; Check the electrical wiring; Remove plants growing on the boundary walls; Clean up the yard, drains; Check the guttering; and general clean up and removing any rubbish. Come along as many hands make light work. NEWSLETTERS I must apologise for abbreviated newsletters and the late delivery. This has been due to the short period of time that I have had to compile it as I have been away. I hope that a full newsletter will be available for soon. CAR BOOT Sunday 6 th August, 2017 We will be having another pitch at Pennant Car Boot Sale on Sunday 6 th August, 2017, the weather permitting, to raise funds for the Community Centre works. If you have any further items, you would like to donate, please contact Elaine on or Malcolm on REMINDER ANNUAL VILLAGE SHOW 2017 Saturday 5 th August, 2017 Don t forget to get your entries for the Annual Village Show. All entries to be on the official entry form, with payment to, Elaine Bradshaw, Gerallt, Pennant, SY23 5JP, by 4 th August Late entries will NOT be accepted; The Show pamphlet is still available on-line. PRIVATE CENTRE HIRE The Community Centre is being hired from 12.00pm on Thursday 17 th August, 2017 to 4.00pm Monday 21 st August, This is for a wedding reception. Apologies for the inconvenience to our regular users.

GWASANAETHAU CAPEL PENNANT CHAPEL SERVICES AWST / AUGUST 6 th am 13 th am 20 th am 27 th - BROADBAND They been connecting the copper line to the new cabinet sited by the Church. Engineers have stated that the fibre would be connected as soon as it had been run up from the cabinet in Aberarth. The cabinet in Aberarth is fibre enabled to the Aberaeron Exchange. All the overhead cables in the village are fibre enabled. It is thought that it could still be another two months before the cabinet by the Church is finally connected to Aberarth. We must remember that BT had told us that this would be done by January, 2017, so watch this space for any updates. Details and dates should be available on the web site under Service - Chapel. CYFARFOD CYMUNED COMMUNITY MEETING The next Cymuned Pennant Community Meeting at 7.00pm on Monday 31 st July, 2017, at Pennant Community Centre. Everyone is welcome to attend. Please come along with any ideas for activities or plans for the Centre. COMMUNITY COUNCIL The next meeting will be at Aberarth Village Hall at 8.00pm on Monday 11th September, Meetings alternate between Aberarth Village Hall and Pennant Community Centre (the old school). The Meetings are open to the public. LUNCHEON CLUB Luncheon Club in August, 2017 will be 12.00pm:- Wednesday 2 nd Wednesday 16 th - Menu to be confirmed - Menu to be confirmed Put your name down on the list at the Centre. Menu for the above dates will be on list at the Centre or check on the website. We are also providing meals, in takeaway containers, for anyone who would like a cooked meal. These are also available whenever food is being served at the Community Centre.

3 Rhifyn Issue 91 Tudalen Page CLUB The last 100 Club Draw was made during May Unfortunately it has not been possible to make the draws for June or July, These draws will be made during the next Community Meeting on Monday 31 st July, The results will be available online and in the September newsletter. ITEMS FOR SALE Do you have anything you wish to sell or any items you would like to buy? Why not advertise on your local website or in your local newsletter. There is no charge unless it is part of a commercial enterprise/activity. If you do sell any of your items, or find what you are looking for, please inform Malcolm Sumner so that the items can be removed from the website and newsletter. These are Maintenance; Low Capital Cost; Mid Capital; and High Capital. Maintenance is thw work that we usually carry out when required or in work parties in August. LOW CAPITAL COST: Insulation of the Roof; Rewiring and Lighting; Grassed Area to be made into Car Parking Area; Replace Kitchen Floor; Decorating; New Furniture; Window Blinds; Signage; Kitchen Walls; Kitchen Floor Drain; Extractor Fan in Kitchen; Archive and Reduce Display Cabinets. MID CAPITAL COST: Internal Finishes to Walls; Double Glazing; Ceilings; Central Heating; External Walls Pointing and Repair; PV & Water Solar Panels; New Roof on Extension and Toilets; Insulation Extension. HIGH CAPITAL COST: Erect New Entrance Hall; Install an Acoustic Room Divider; Build a Two Storey Storage Area + Office Space; Large Extension on Side of Main Building. If you are able to assist in sourcing any of the above materials or are aware of any sponsorship or grants that may be of assistance please contact any of the Directors / Trustees. FILM NIGHT / NOSON FILMIAU 7.30pm Saturday 5 th August, 2017 / 7.30pm Dydd Sadwrn 5 Awst, 2017 Sometimes It Takes Nine Lives To Save One A STREET CAT CALLED BOB (12) Starring Luke Treadaway, Ruth Gedmintas and Joanne Froggatt Based on the true life story and international best-selling book, A Street Cat Named Bob is a moving and uplifting film that will touch the heart of everyone. When London busker and recovering drug addict James Bowen finds injured ginger street cat Bob in his sheltered accommodation, he has no idea just how much his life is about to change. There are conditions attached to the licence, in that, anyone attending must be a member and any payment made cannot be for viewing the film. We are also restricted as to the maximum number of people who can view at any one time. A raffle ticket will be sold, 2.00 per ticket, on entry. The film shown will be the raffle prize. Ice Cream and refreshments will be available for purchase. There will be food at 6.00pm before both films. The meal will be a main course, dessert and coffee. Cost is 5.00 for members and 7.00 to none members. Meals should be booked in advance. A list is available to book a meal at the Community Centre, book via , or contact one of the listed Trustees. You can have the meal without any obligation to see the films.

Williams (Certas), from Llandysul. NEXT OIL order will be placed at the end of August / beginning of September, If you miss a village order you can still order through a neighbouring syndicate. Terms and Conditions for the Pennant Oil Syndicate are on the website and were published in the March 2016 Cymuned Newsletter. Please remember to provide the following information: - Your Name; Full Address - including post code; Telephone number; Quantity of oil required; and any special requirements or access issues (small lorry only, etc) There will is a minimum order of 500 litres. LOCAL GROCERY DELIVERY SERVICE Robby & Sharon Sweet at Glanarthen Stores & Post Office, in Cross Inn, have started a grocery delivery service. Contact telephone numbers or rsweet@tesco.net.
