I guess when you share good times and have fun with family and friends the time seems to go much quicker. And we did have fun this year, our 20th Anniversary Party, St. Joseph s Celebration, our Annual Picnic, the Calendar Meeting at Grande s, the Scholarship presentation, Wine tasting at Total Wine and brunch at Ibis Country Club. I almost forgot the Jungle Queen Cruise and the fun dinner at Palermo s Bakery. Hopefully the coming year will be just as entertaining. Joe and I hope everyone had an enjoyable Thanksgiving with family or friends. I know we are looking forward to celebrating Christmas at the Tequesta Country Club on Saturday, December 3, 2016, and also to our members meeting on Wednesday, December 7, 2016, when we will honor Chandra and Todd Hoover, our disabled veterans. Sandwiches, salads, dessert and coffee will be served. Hope to see everyone at our last meeting of the year. A reminder to everyone, our yearly dues, $65.00 per member, will be due for 2017 on January 1st. Benvenuto s Restaurant is booked for January 10, 2017 at 6:00 p.m. We will have a delicious three course meal with all the wine wanted and tax and tip included for $65.00 per person. The Nobile family, from Nobile Shoes in Stuart, recently experienced a devastating loss, their store burned down. The Nobile family are sending out their sincere appreciation to all the many members, etc. who supported them and were so amazingly generous. Your love and support will always be remembered! Thank You. Fraternally Yours, ANNUAL CHRISTMAS DINNER DANCE Christmas Dinner Dance - To be held on Saturday, Dec. 3, 2016 from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m., $63.00 p.p. To be held at the Tequesta Country Club, 201 Country Club Drive, Tequesta. This will be a sit down dinner with appetizers served during cocktail hour (cash bar): stuffed mushrooms, shrimp cocktail, prosciutto and melon lollipops and fried calamari. For dinner we will start with a, tomato mozzarella served salad with 3 entrées to choose from: Chicken Marsala, Macadamia Crusted Mahi or Filet Mignon along with a twice baked potato and green beans. Dessert will be Apple Crumble with Vanilla ice cream. Music will be by the sensational Sound Relations. ** WOUNDED WARRIOR COLLECTION** Our lodge is in the process of collecting money and all goods, gift cards etc. for the December 7th members meeting, which will be presented to our chosen Wounded Warriors. Anyone needing information or wanting to give please see or call Brother Nicholas Carbone. You may also call in advance of the meeting date; his number is (772) I am proud to introduce the 2016 Wounded Warrior Veterans to you, Chandra and Todd Hoover. Both Chandra and Todd Hoover are honorably discharged veterans. Chandra, served almost four years in the U.S. Army, but after a horrendous car accident while being transferred from base to base had to be medically discharged. Due to the accident she suffers from numerous injuries and is listed as 40% disabled through the VA. Todd has served twice in the U.S. Military. He served four years in the U.S. Marines as an investigating photographer, which dealt with many many violent deaths and accidents throughout his years of service. As if this tour wasn t enough, after discharge and returning home due to missing the comradeship of the Brotherhood he reenlisted for another four years in the U.S. Army as a combat Medic, thinking that he could do some good. As one can assume this directly takes its toll on you mentally and physically. Because of the compounding problems that have been bestowed on these Warriors they are most appreciative of any help that can be granted to them by our lodge during this the most Holy and Blessed Season of the year...christmas. You will be able to meet these two wounded warriors at our December 7th Members Christmas Meeting. 4 Tony Bennett Celebrates his 90th On August 3rd, Tony Bennett celebrated his 90th birthday in style at The Rainbow Room in New York City. Several celebrity guests attended, including fellow Italian-Americans John Travolta, Regis Philbin, Steve Buscemi, Martin Scorcese, and Lady Gaga (Stefani Germanotta). Lady Gaga, who collaborated with Tony Bennett on their acclaimed album Cheek to Cheek, performed La Vie en Rose with Stevie Wonder on piano. We just love one another, Bennett said of Lady Gaga. We re both Italian American In God We Trust December and understand one another. Not to be outdone, Bennett also performed, showing the crowd just how youthful a ninety-yearold can be. I love life, he said. I love being alive. On December 20th at 9 pm, NBC will air Tony Bennett Celebrates 90: The Best is Yet to Come. The special will include guest performances by Andrea Bocelli, Michael Buble, Billy Joel, Elton John and many others.
