1 2530 Harbour Dr., Harbour Heights, FL Phone December 2018 FROM THE PRESIDENT I encourage all of you to go on to the Harbour Heights website at A HUGE tip of the hat goes out to our recently formed Community Development Committee which has put together many pieces of information and performed tasks that are being seen, recognized and mentioned in discussions regarding the upcoming Food Truck Saturdays, Civic Work Days and our upcoming events that are planned to help beautify HHCA! We are still waiting to see what the outcome may be for some of these activities but it is the initiative of these individuals in their planning and execution that I wanted to thank them for and notify all of you about. On a side note, John Ginter, Jim McBride and Dan Topp have been leading projects of their own which are sure to make a difference in this endeavor as well. From the sidewalk project (Board approved and signed contract submitted yesterday for execution (and thanks to John Ginter for leading those renovations) to the rear door replacement see the early installation picture later in this newsletter, your efforts are surely making a huge impact for all of our community to see, enjoy and realize that HHCA is here to stay! Bingo is still active and getting bigger crowds with the return of our snowbirds! The new refrigerators are a hit with all who use the kitchen. Our new board member, Bill Sondesky has taken on the responsibility of our lawn care and is doing a great job! Thanks Big Bill!!! I can t say Thank You enough as your President for all of your struggles, personal time spent and persistence in making HHCA, our team of volunteers, and our Harbour Heights community one to be proud to live in and be a part of. Keep charging! Joseph Usher, President HARBOUR HEIGHTS GARDEN CLUB NEWS What a great day we had on Friday, November 16th! The tour of the Peace River Botanical and Sculpture Gardens was invigorating and thoroughly enjoyable. Twelve (12) attendees toured the Gardens and had lunch at the Garden Community Center. On December 21st, our next meeting date, we will join together for a holiday lunch at La Florentina restaurant in Punta Gorda. Reservations are for arrival at 11:00 AM. Car pooling will not be available, but if anyone needs a ride, please call me at A special thank you to Yvonne Sprunger for making reservations at the botanical gardens and at La Florentina. Also thanks to Brenda Kramer for assisting Yvonne with the La Florentina reservation. Hope you had a happy Thanksgiving Holiday and wishing you a very blessed Christmas and a happy New Year! 3 YOUR HOUSE COMMITTEE AT WORK The house committee has been busy this month, the new set of emergency exit doors was installed. They still need to be painted, but they are truly a big improvement over the old plain doors that didn t let in any light! Many thanks to Dan and Tammy Topp for the donation of the doors to the Civic, and many thanks to those who worked so hard to install them! ***************************************************************************** DEEP CREEK SCHOOL NEWS Deep Creek Elementary students and staff celebrated the holidays with families during our annual Candy Cane Lane on November 29 th. Several vendors from our community set up stations for families to shop and buy gifts for loved ones. Everyone who attended had a wonderful time! We hope you and your families have a joyous holiday season! School is back in session January 9 th. ************************** -3-

Bring a side dish in a Mexican theme or a dessert to share. Coffee will be provided, but bring the libation of your choice for that evening! Hope to see you there! Kick off time will be at dusk (6PM) at the Harbour Heights Park. Get your golf carts, 4 wheelers ATV s ready and decorated and come and amaze your neighbors! PLEASE NO CARS - NO TRUCKS!! HAVE A WONDERFUL CHRISTMAS! Elections are coming up in January. We are looking for volunteers to serve as officers, particularly secretary, treasurer, directors and house committee.
