Summer camp allows a Scout to share in fellowship and learn about the experiences of other Scouts. It also gives him a chance to exchange his experiences with others. This type of interaction is what Scouting is all about. Summer camp is just one place where we can encourage and develop leadership. The greatest reward will be the lasting memories each Scout will carry with him for the rest of his life. MCC Mission Statement To create an organization that focuses on exceptional Scouting Program in every community ensuring that every youth in Michigan has an opportunity to join and participate. Scout Oath On my honor I will do my best. To do my duty to God and my country and to obey the Scout Law; To help other people at all times; To keep myself physically strong, mentally awake, and morally straight. BSA Mission Statement It is the mission of the Boy Scouts of America to prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Law. Scout Law A Scout is: Trustworthy Loyal Helpful Friendly Courteous Kind Obedient Cheerful Thrifty Brave Clean Reverent 1 2

Greenwood Road Alger, MI acres of northern Michigan woodlands Rifle River runs through camp Campsites with pavilions Mature pine/oak forest Riverstore (Camp store) Camp trail system Patrol Cooking Private lake access Cole Canoe Base is constantly re-inventing ways to keep today's ever changing youth active in the outdoors. Our program is "High Adventure for the 21st Century," providing activities for the Scout that is new to the program all the way up to Venturers and Sea Scouts that "have tried everything." Our camp parallels programs found at national Boy Scout camps for a fraction of the price. Cole boasts a 98% unit return rate, one of the highest in the nation. As an "A rated" nationally accredited camp since it was renamed over 30 years ago, Cole Canoe Base strives for one thing and one thing only: Safe, Quality, Fun Filled Programming! Cole is approximately 170 miles north of Detroit just outside of West Branch, Michigan, located on the southern border of Ogemaw County. The camp measures approximately 1480 acres or about 2.3 square miles. The Rifle River runs through the main part of the camp and provides an excellent opportunity for units to canoe and tube down the river. The majority of the camp structures, campsites, and program areas are condensed into the northeast portion of the property, leaving the remainder as wilderness on the west side of the Rifle River. After crossing the foot bridge over the Rifle River, scouts have miles of uninterrupted trails and wilderness to explore and hike. The general terrain of the camp is flat, with only a few hills as you descend into the river valley High Adventure Camp As seen in Scouting Magazine Aquatics: swimming, canoeing, kayaking New Unit orientation High Adventure Upper Peninsula trips Canoe & tubing trips High-power rifle shooting (Venturing) ATV course training Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore hikes Eco-con Center/Museum Bouldering wall Shooting sports Archery, 3D Archery The Famous BEAST FEAST 35 Climbing tower with 285' zip line Grand Island Adventure Kayaking River Trips Photo courtesy of Boy's Life Magazine Photo courtesy of Boy's Life Magazine Photo courtesy of Boy's Life Magazine Off-season Facility Rental Year-round Programs Boy Scout Summer Camp Cub Scout Summer Family Camp 5 6
