Here are a few safety tips to make your shopping experience as enjoyable as possible! 1
2 Limit the number of bags you carry at once in order to keep at least one arm free. Riding (and waiting for) public transportation: be aware of your surroundings, pickpockets or suspicious persons. Try to park/walk in well-lit areas. Do not leave any bags or packages visible in your car; If you need to leave something in your trunk, place it there before you park or car, or re-park your car somewhere else. ARRESTS OF INTEREST: Wednesday, November 26th, :38 AM Defradiing a Cab Driver, Warrant Arrest - Van Dyke and Jennings CS# While Sgt. Weathersby was on patrol he saw two grown men on the street in a physical fight. He summoned for additional assistance and separated the pair. It was learned that fight was between a cab driver and a fare that attempted to walk away without paying. The passenger admitted to hailing the cab with the intent to evade paying once he got to his destination. The passenger also had a $100,000 warrant for his arrest. The passenger got a ride to Bayview Station from the SFPD. INCIDENTS OF INTEREST: Wednesday, November 26th, :35 PM Robbery 1100 block of Gilman Street - CS# Bayview Officers were flagged down a victim of purse snatch. The victim told the officers that she was walking when a black female, years of age, heavy set, wearing a black jacket, snatched the purse form her shoulder and ran into the Double Rock Housing Complex. Witnesses told the officers which way the suspect ran and even gave them the address of where the suspect ran into. Attempts to apprehend the suspect were negative, but the case is still under investigation. Thursday, November 27th, :16 PM Battery 1100 Oakdale CS# Thanksgiving festivities ended early for a residence on the 1100 block of Oakdale Street when two adult brothers engaged in fisticuffs. The fight carried out into the street where neighbors broke it up. One of the combatants fled the scene prior to the police arrival. The remaining brother did not say what caused the fight. It was not indicated whether alcohol was a factor in this incident. BURGLARIES: Wednesday, November 26th :00 AM to 1:30 PM Westpoint Road CS# Forced entry made through front door, loss of electronics, a threatening note was left. VEHICLE INCIDENTS: 2
3 Thursday, November 27th, :35 AM Malicious mischief to a vehicle 700 block of Arkansas CS# A south San Francisco man was cited for vandalizing a vehicle on the 700 block of Arkansas Street. Police responded to a call of a man throwing rocks at cars. When they arrived on scene they saw the suspect holding a brick in his hand. He was ordered to drop the brick and taken into custody. An area resident identified the man as the person damaging his car. ARRESTS OF INTEREST: Friday, November 28, :24 PM Narcotics, Firearms Arrest Underwood Avenue/Jennings Street CS# Bayview Plainclothes officers spotted a person that they knew to be on felony probation with a warrantless search condition. They conducted a search of his vehicle and found a large amount of methamphetamine in the door. Also in the vehicle was a large amount of marijuana. The search continued to 6
7 the person s house. In his room, inside of a drawer was a loaded revolver. The person was booked for numerous narcotics related and weapons charges. Friday, November 28, :37 PM Parolee at Large 3rd Street and Evans Avenue Muni Stop CS# A parolee at large was taken into custody after he was detained for fare evasion on the T Line light rail. Saturday, November 29, :05 PM Felon with a Firearm Garlington and Commer Court CS# Officers Cabuntala and Coleman were assigned as Violence Reduction Unit to identify and patrol high crime areas. While they were patrolling the area of Garlington Court they spotted a car that contained known gang members; the driver was also on probation with a search condition. The driver recognized the police, opened the car door and began to run but Officer Cabuntala was hot on his path. While the suspect was fleeing he threw a gun into the ivy along the getaway path. Sunday, November 30, :48 PM Urinating and Intoxicating in Public Bayview Station CS# NA intoxicated woman was booked for being drunk in public and public urination in the Bayview Police Station Parking lot. The woman was spotted behind the bushes inside the parking lot gate by Officers as they were pulling into the station. The woman was less than 75 feet from the lobby of the station that had a public restroom. INCIDENTS OF INTEREST: Saturday, November 29, :35 AM Assault with a vehicle Ingerson Avenue and Giants Drive CS# Bayview Officers responded to Candlestick Park regarding a man that had just been struck with by a pickup truck. Witnesses said that a red Ford F-150 was traveling towards a group of people that were standing on Ingerson Avenue. The group got out of the path of the truck. The truck passed and did a u-turn and drove towards the group again. One person was sideswiped in the leg by the truck. The group indicated that they knew who was driving but refused to identify her. Saturday, November 29, :50 AM Robbery w/ a knife 22nd and Pennsylvania CS# A man reported that he was walking on 22nd Street from Pennsylvania Avenue when he was approached by two men. One of the men pressed a knife into the throat of the victim, while the other took money from the man s pockets. The victim said that he knows one of the suspects as Dave. The Robbery Detail is investigating. Saturday, November 29, :25 PM, Attempted Car Jacking John Shelley Dr. CS# A young woman was driving her car on John Shelly Drive in Mansell Park. In the roadway was a male waiving her down to stop. The woman slowed to a stop next to the male. The male started to bang on her window and simultaneously attempt to open the door, but the woman had it locked. Fearing the worst she stepped on the accelerator and went to her house and contacted the police. She described the suspect as a black male slim build, missing a front tooth. 7
8 Sunday, November 30, :29 AM Car Jacking Oakdale Avenue and Phelps Street CS# A driver was car jacked today at gun point when he was at the stop sign at Oakdale Avenue and Phelps Street. One suspect opened the unlocked passenger door. The driver looked to the driver side and saw another male approaching his side holding a hand gun. One of the suspects told the driver to get out of the car and the other told him to hand over his wallet. The driver complied. The suspects drove away, took the victim s money from his wallet tossed it out the window. The victim claimed his wallet and called his 911. Approximately 45 minutes later the vehicle was found at Quint Street and Newcomb Avenue with damage to the front end. VEHICLE INCIDENTS: Between Thursday, November 27th 2:00 PM and Saturday, November 29th, 11:35 PM Auto Burglary 600 Block Of Tennessee CS# Two cars were broken into in a common garage of the 600 block of Tennessee Street. The first car had its window smashed and contents ransacked. The second car was left unlocked, the door was ajar and the contents ransacked. Saturday, November 29th, 2008 between 3:00 AM and 11:00 AM Auto Burglary Sweeney and Barneveld Streets - CS# Window Smashed, laptop and other electronics taken from the trunk. Between Friday, November 28th 11:00 PM and Saturday, November 29th, 9:10AM Auto Burglary 1300 block of Thomas Ave - CS# Smashed rear window of a SUV.
