2 JESSICA COX PRESENTATION We did not have a formal Chapter meeting last month. Instead we hosted the World s First Armless Pilot, Jessica Cox in the big heated hangar at the Wausau Downtown Airport. After her presentation she got into my Ercoupe and demonstrated how she is able to control an airplane in flight, using only her feet. 171 people showed up, and they donated $200 plus 230 pounds of food (1/2 of a pickup truck) to the Neighbor s Place Food Bank. She then posed for pictures with many of the attendees and signed programs and DVD s for those who asked for an autograph. Jessica did her motivational presentation, explaining the challenges that she had to overcome to become a Sport Pilot. Her cheerful attitude was very refreshing. While she was here in the area she did presentations for the students at Wausau West High School, Newman Catholic High and Middle School, Wausau East High School and Mosinee High School. Including the presentation she did at the airport, she spoke to approximately 3,400 people during this visit. Thank you to Keith Kocourek, owner of Kocourek Automotive for funding Jessica s visit here, and to John Chmiel, Wausau airport manager for providing the warm heated hangar for her presentation for us. Please Note 2013 dues are now due. Still only $8/year.

I am extremely pleased to have been selected for the homebuilders community manager position. Charlie Becker, director of EAA member programs, stated, We re excited to bring Chad on board.
