To sign up and for more information please call (310) MB Senior News Thursday, August 21, 2014: The LA Philharmonic s all Mozart program, with conductor Nicholas McGegan and pianist Inon Barnatan will feature a mixture of the composer s mature works. Included will be Piano Concerto No. 22, K. 482 and Symphony No.35, Haffner. Tuesday, September 9, 2014: Mark-Anthony Turnage s Concerto for Drum Kit and Orchestra opens tonight s show. Then, the performance of Holst s Planets is accompanied by astonishing images from NASA and JPL rovers and satellites as well as computer-generated graphics of the Mars landing and more. Both trips will depart from at 5:30 PM and return 11:00 P.M. Transportation will be on the Dial-a-Ride Bus and cost $2.00. There is a $10.00 deposit for tickets which is refunded at the time of departure. Please note that the deposit is required at the time of reservations. But what nature destroyed, it also preserved. Pompeii: The Exhibition features over 150 precious artifacts on loan from the Naples National Archaeological Museum in Italy, which offer a glimpse into opulent lifestyle and tragic end of this ancient Roman society forgotten for centuries until its rediscovery over 250 years ago. Through excavated artifacts, multimedia experiences, and hand-on science exhibits, guests will learn the science of archaeology, volcanology, and Roman engineering while exploring the ancient civilization of Pompeii.
