Day Camp & Little Explorers Campers enjoy group activities with children their age, under the leadership of our counselors. Campers enjoy swimming and special daily camp rotations for activities that are led by experienced staff in sports, arts & crafts, teambuilding, performing arts, science, nature, and group games. Various activities coordinate with the camp theme, along with a weekly special event or trip. 6 SPORTS & SPORT SPECIALTY CAMPS Sports Camp Basketball Camp Whether your child is passionate about a favorite sport or just likes to play on a team, sports camp is the best way to get ready for a new season! Our YMCA Sports Camp is a place for kids to participate in a variety of sports. Kids who love any sport can participate in flag football, soccer, wiffleball, basketball, kickball, and team handball. We will help your child enjoy the excitement of sports in a supportive environment based on teamwork and sportsmanship. Sports Camp is designed to teach basic fundamentals and knowledge of sports through fun instruction and drills. Game play to practice and utilize the skills learned will take place daily. Weeks 2-10 (grades 3-7) Campers will participate in multiple drills to work on their dribbling, passing, defense, rebounding, and shooting. Campers will scrimmage against each other daily so they can apply the techniques they have learned in a game setting. This camp also helps teach children playing for their first season or refresh their memories for a new season by going over basic play formations and their assignments on a play call.
