4 Bunnies & Bonnets Parade Allan Greenberg shared his photo taken from his 1923 Model T in the Bunnies & Bonnets Parade in Campbell, CA. The Model T in front of our car is Jeremy Wire's 1914 Model T. Jeremy led the group of 5 antique autos in the parade. Behind us was Larry Johnson in his 1915 Runabout. We also had a 1921 Studebaker Touring and a 1930 Model A Coupe. It was a beautiful day in Campbell which contributed to the largest turnout of any parade that we have attended. Allan 3

5 Re: Merchandise, Century Plaque Data, Club Documents, 2018 HCCA Roster, New HCCA National News Editor, Get Involved Issue: # HCCA Merchandise In addition to being able to order HCCA merchandise on the web from Brothers Grafix, a team of members worked hard to improve inventory and to get merchandise to six events in The team members were Jay/Carol Simpson (east) and Keene/Christine Brewer (West) and Sharon Gooding (West). Merchandise sales from the 6 events during the year were $2,840. They have been working hard to improve the quality and availability of HCCA merchandise for members Century Plaque Data In 2013, the Century Plaque program was posted on the HCCA web site. The data base included honored cars during the first ten years (2003 to 2013). At the end of 2017, the information on the vehicles receiving plaques from 2014 to 2017 were gathered and formatted so that they can be added to the data base in the near future. Club Documents - For cost reasons, it has been decided that the digital club documents will not be stored on the web site. They will be placed on a SanDisk flash drive for use by the president and the HCCA office HCCA Roster Committee and Directors are still working on the project. There have been issues with resources to work on the project and the lack of updated information from members who have moved, sold or bought cars. More updates should be learned at the annual meeting. New HCCA National News Editor With board retirement of Carl Pate from the Board of Directors this year, the new editor of the HCCA National News will be Jay Simpson of MD. He has been given the editor guidelines and is getting help from Carl during the transition. Remember this document was designed to inform members of items as they happen. It belongs to the members and not the Board of Directors Have you signed up with the HCCA Office to request your own copy of the HCCA National News? It does not cost you anything. Get Involved / Ask how you can help I would like to thank the HCCA members that gave me the opportunity to serve on the HCCA Board of Directors for two terms. With the creation of this service, the sending of information to members is quick and was designed to keep members better informed. The HCCA National News editor represents you, the members. Though the document is reviewed by some of board members before release, they can only offer comments and suggestions to the editor. The editor has direct control of each issue. I am a believer that new directors are needed to get new ideas. Though I will not be on the HCCA Board of Directors, I will still be one of its greatest supporters and I will help out when asked. To those members who have not served at the local or National level, I found the experience very rewarding and I would recommend that you consider serving in some capacity to support the club and its events. The key is to ask if you can help Speak up and volunteer to help. I also hope that each member takes time to thank your directors, officers and the other event leaders of your organization for all their work. Though the nomination of new directors is in the fall each year, now is the time to think about offering your time to serve the HCCA Board of Directors and make a difference. To help, just contact your local or National President. As I have said many times, it is not what you are given, earn, or have that is important. 6 17th Annual Wings of History Air Museum Open House/Fly-in. Join the Model T Club for a visit to the San Martin Airport to see some old airplanes on Saturday May 19th. The San Martin Airport is located at Murphy Avenue in San Martin. For those who wish to travel together we will meet at the Shell Station on Blossom Hill Road and Almaden Expressway at 9:00 AM. 8 49th Annual Endurance Run And Lowland Tour June 16 & 17 (Saturday & Sunday), The 49th Annual Endurance Run and Lowland Tour takes place in Hollister, CA. On Saturday, we will have a warm-up tour for speedsters and lowland cars to a local point of interest. On Sunday, the Speedster Run and Lowland Tour will take to the countryside with intertwining routes that add to the fun. 9 The Journey through Time Tour July 8-11, 2018 John Day, Oregon The Portland Regional Group invites you to a very special part of Oregon for our 2018 Annual Tour. This is a completely new location for our club in our 53 years of antique car tours. The John Day area in central Oregon offers a remarkable combination of both history and scenery. You ll get to visit ghost towns, a world-class natural history center, and cultural museums, all while driving through some of Oregon s most beautiful landscapes. Tour days will average 75 miles, with only one day topping 100. Attractions will include the early gold mining town of Sumpter, where you can explore the gold dredge remaining from the gold rush that started in Another day, we will visit the Thomas Condon Paleontology Center, where we ll see the kind of residents that inhabited Oregon millions of years ago. Historic museums include the James Cant Ranch, a well-preserved example of life in the area in the early 1900 s, as well as the Kam Wah Chung State Heritage Site, highlighting the contributions of 19 th century Chinese immigrants. Three tour days also include stops in some of Oregon s famous ghost towns. Be sure to bring your best camera! Details of the tour are being finalized now.
