1 James & Penny Biggs present The Walk: Just 3 miles of easy walking mostly on well-made paths, the walk is suitable for buggies with only two stiles to cross. This lovely walk passes through the picturesque village of Sutton Green with its pretty cottages, and then some beautiful scenery along the Way Canal and the surrounding area. The Venue: A traditional country pub and restaurant, which serves food from 12pm - 5pm on Sunday's. There is lots of information, including sample menus and directions on their website - Please book if you want to eat The pub is children & dog friendly, a children s menu is available. There is a selection of cask ales on offer from the Hogs Back, Timothy Taylor and Sharp's breweries. The car park is to the side and there are garden and patio areas. Grid Reference: TQ Directions: Sutton Green lies in-between Guildford and Woking close to the A3. Leave the A3 at the Burpham / Merrow exit (just north of Guildford) at the second roundabout, take the 2nd exit. Follow the road for a mile and then at Jacobs Well, turn right into Blanchards Hill. The pub is a mile down this road on the left. Public Transport: There is a bus service operated by Arriva - Route 34, which stops outside the pub. It runs from Camberley to Guildford Bus Station, it also stops at Woking Railway Station; it is an hourly service on Sunday's. For more information please see their website -
2 James & Penny Biggs present Starters Distance 3 miles Time allowed 4 hours 1. To relieve the toil of quizwalk embroil. 2. Have a good gander around, to see changes to this ground. 3. This menu might contain false coral. Stage I Cross the road and turn left, very soon you meet a road junction. Keep ahead along a quiet residential lane. Stage ends when you arrive at the next road junction. 4. A small ragga sound that protects this ground. 5. This past poetic offset needs sorting. 6. A warning where life begins! 7. Perhaps here something is found, that is very round. Stage II Continue ahead along the lane, eventually you veer right onto a path that skirts Runtley Wood Farmhouse. Go through a kissing gate and follow the grassy path passed some farm buildings, the stage ends when you reach a stile. 8. Nobility may retreat from travelling down this street. 9. Performing an acrobatic revolution, will help find Ethel Craw. 10. Maybe the home of a cryptic horse, these don't make any sense of course. 11. If these are spare then one may relate, to being a little over weight. Stage III Keep going on this narrow path with a fence on your right hand side, the stage ends when you reach the next stile. 12. Animal entrance to get at meal, although it could be made of steel. 13. Perhaps their might have been a train on the scene.
3 James & Penny Biggs present Stage IV Cross the stile and turn right onto a concrete drive, continue and cross several bridges, eventually arriving at a narrow footbridge over the Way Canal. Cross this bridge and turn right along the towpath, the stage ends at a motor cycle sign. 14. It s all over for this group! 15. A different way out for the last PM, we may never see him again. 16. Simon Cowell's ventured into a different kind of spotting. Stage V Follow the towpath, eventually reaching another bridge where the stage ends. 17. In a frozen state using up space, not to everyone s taste. 18. A degree of security, here for you to see. 19. If Giovanni' at fault, boats may come to a halt. Stage VI Continue along the towpath, crossing another bridge and passing Triggs Lock. The stage ends when you reach the next bridge that crosses the canal. 20. Look out for Benjamin Church. 21. Thirteen years of flow, how very slow! 22. you eye ah ee. Stage VII Cross the canal and follow the path, at the next junction turn right passing a house, follow the drive until you reach a junction, where the walk ends. Turn left and follow the lane back to the pub. 23. Captains records will help prevent sinking. 24. Casting an inedible cake, from a different sort of plate. 25. Makers of an Eco car, won't get very far.
4 James & Penny Biggs present Children s clues How many bridges can you count as you go around the walk? Stage I The first two letters in the alphabet may sound loud. This is usually on a wall, but "who is the fairest of them all" Stage II This house sounds like the walk organisers. Something to aim at! Stage III What shapes can you find on this stage. Stage IV This vehicle is hidden in this padlock. What stone animals are on the gate posts. Stage V What can't you do between the lock and boat house. What letters are in operation at this home. Stage VI Rest here! Why must you go slow. Stage VII How many logs can you step on? Harnessing the Sun's energy
