The new Exeter Middle signs.la, {see liat above), are located as follows:- Signal Up Main Advance Starting Down Main Distant Down Main Inner Distant Down Main Home Distance froa Bxeter Middle (Yards) New Disc signals will be brought into use aa shown on the enclosed diagram. The following signals will be renalll!ld:- Existing Down Main Homes Down Main Distant l>own Ila.in Inner H0118a Renamed BXeter West Down Main Diatant Contd
2 -2- The following signals will be recovered: Down Main Shunt - Ahead to Up Main Up Main Sb:unt - Ahead At Exeter West The Down Maih Distant will be renamed the Down Main Intermediate Distant and its AWS ramp will be recovered. The former Exeter Kiddle Down Main Distant will become the Down Main Distant, 1156 y~rde from the signal box. At Exeter Riverside A new straight post signal with route indicato:i.. situated 160 yards from the signal box and new ground signals will be brought into use and routed as shown on the diagram. The existing Disc signal backing from the Up Reception has been fitted with a red light. The existing triple ground Disc signal on the Up and Down Reception line will be reposi.tioned approximately 40 yds further from the signal box. The following signals will be taken out of use:- Spur to Up Siding or Down Goods Starting Down. Departure to Down Goods or Spv Starting Disc Spur Starting New connections will be brought into use in accordance with the diagram. The Up Sidings (Old Yard) catch - point will be recovered and the hand point adjacent to this 0 1 onnection will be converted to signal.box operation. The hand point connection to No.2 Up Siding wi.11 be recovered. At Cowley'Bridge Junetion The existing Down Reception line will be renamed the Up and Down Reception line. The existing Down Good Loop on the Exeter Side of the fuing connection Down Good:! Loop to Down Ma.in will be renamed Down Siding. The existing Exeter East Up Main Inner Distant Signal will be connected to the signal box and will become the Up Ma.in Distant Signal, situated 1883 yds from the signal box. An A.W.s. ramp will be provided immediatel)" in advance of thia signal. The existing Cowley Bridge Up Main Distant will become the Up Main Inner Distant and its A.w.s. ramp will be recovered. The following signals will be. recovered: Up Main to Up Branch Distant ' ' Down Goods Loop Starting Down Siding Limit of.shunt Board. New ground Disc signals will be brought into use as shown on the diagram. Track Circuits Track Circuit additions and alterations will be made at Exeter Riverside and Exeter Middle including the lines formerly controlled from Exeter East. Contd
