1 BMW 100th Birthday German Tour Scenic and Continental Car Tours are operating the accommodation and travel package on behalf of the BMW Car Club for a proposed tour in Germany in September to celebrate the 100 th Birthday of BMW. Here is the preliminary announcement, and I would be pleased if you could let me know if you would like to reserve a place on it. Best wishes Howard Walker Director, BMW Car Club GB. The first night in Europe will be the Monday 5 th September, and the last one the Wednesday the13 th. Depending on which port that you wish to travel via, your departure and return dates may differ. BMW does not open for business with regard to booking Factory and Museum or Weld tours until April, so the following information cannot be guaranteed in their respect. We hope to be able to do a factory tour of 2 groups of 20, and the same for the Museum and Weld visits. Please be aware that these events are not guaranteed at this moment in time. If they do not work out, another event may be substituted. BMW are also celebrating their 100 th Birthday by holding a big meeting at the Olympia Park in Munich on the 9 th and 10 th of September. Everyone will be able to attend this event, but only those fortunate enough to have bought a ticket will be allowed to take their cars into the event. As of today, we do not

2 know the number of tickets that we will be allocated. We are hoping for 20, but these do not form a part of this tour offer. Other options will be offered to participants as the plan firms up. These will be organised by the club, and not by the Tour Company. More information will be published as it arises. Dates/Duration: Monday 5th September to Wednesday 14th September 2016 Total Package Price: per person sharing a car/room throughout the tour per person in a car/room, on their own throughout. Proposed Itinerary 5 th September X 1 night Mercure Aachen Europaplatz Half Board (Dinner will be 3 courses, with minimum 2 choices for each course, chosen on the night you dine 2/2/2 style dinner) See: Note: Members must choose individual dining slots along with their menu choices, when they check in. We also have the option to choose the Art Hotel Superior in Aachen, for an additional per person, and the dinner choice will be made at the table. See: Indicate your preference on the form at the end of this document. There may also be a chance to visit A.C.Schnitzer s premises, and possibly to eat at their in house gourmet restaurant kohlibri This is not part of the tour and has yet to be established. If this works out, the tour cost will reduce by 20 per person, but we do not as yet know the additional cost of a meal at Schnitzers. 6 th September X 1 night Hotel Am Tiergarten Nurburgring Half Board (Dinner will be 3 courses, with minimum 3 choices for each course, chosen on the night you dine 3/3/3 style dinner)- Note: The hotel only has limited parking. They will reserve 10 spots outside the hotel for the first 10 cars that arrive, but they must arrive by 5pm. The other cars can park in the nearby public car parking, first come first served. The public parking is not secure, but because of the area you are in, there is a very minimal chance of problems. Please be aware of this. The price INCLUDES dinner in the Schmitz s famous under hotel restaurant, and the menu WILL feature the famous hot plate Argentine steak, all included in the price. 7 th September X 1 night ParkHotel Pforzheim Half Board (Dinner will be 3 courses, with minimum 3 choices for each course, chosen on the night you dine 3/3/3 style dinner)- 8 th September X 4 nights Hotel Vier Jahreszeiten, Starnberg Half Board 1 st night, BB only rest of stay (Dinner will be 3 courses, with minimum 3 choices for each course, chosen on the night you dine 3/3/3 style dinner) Note: The hotel is based in the beautiful lakeside town of Starnberg. Away from the mayhem of Munich, and most importantly outside of the chargeable Munich emission zones, but close

3 enough to be able to drive into Munich if required. Munich is approx. 20 mins drive from the hotel. Dinner is included on the first night only, with the remaining 3 nights left to members own leisure. Should you wish to travel within the emission zone, you will need a sticker, obtainable from various garages in Germany, but best buy one prior to you leave. Costs 18.5 from: It s a painless process, just copy your log book page to a form that they send you, it to them, and the sticker comes with an invoice for you to pay later. Munich Visit. If all goes to plan, and subject to the warning printed at the top of this page, we are planning a factory visit, one to the Museum, one to the Weld, one to the BMW 100 th Birthday event, and possibly to BMW Classic. None of these events are yet guaranteed, and depend on BMW opening their booking session in April and granting us a place. We have submitted a request and will await their confirmation. Please do not reserve a place on the basis that you will be able to make all these visits, as you could be disappointed. 4 12 th September X 1 night Hotel-Restaurant Barbarossahof, Kaiserslautern Half Board (Dinner will be 3 courses, with minimum 3 choices for each course, chosen on the night you dine 3/3/3 style dinner)- Alternative Hotel, subject to a quick group preference vote: the same 3/3/3 dining offer at the Hotel Crystal in Saarbrucken, but the additional cost if you want this, will be more per person. Indicate your preference on the form at the end of this document. 13 th September X 1 night Holiday Inn Gent Expo Half Board (Dinner will be 3 courses, with minimum 3 choices for each course, chosen on the night you dine 3/3/3 style dinner)- Note: Your last night s dining in Gent will not be a served dinner, but a 3 course buffet meal. The buffet will be open to BMW Car Club Members from 19:00-21:00 so can dine at leisure throughout the evening. Price Includes:- -9 night/10 day tour as stated above -3*/4* Accommodation as stated above -9 Breakfasts and 6 dinners as stated above -Return P&O Ferries sailings from Dover to Calais. Other channel passenger ports in the UK can also be booked, at additional cost, customers to phone Scenic Car Tours direct to change ferries/obtain supplement prices. -Welt, Plant and Museum guided tour included subject to confirmation in Late April/Early May. This is planned as one group of 20 maximum on the Friday and one group of 20 maximum on the Monday morning after check out from the hotel. Please be aware that these events are not guaranteed at this moment in time. If they do not work out, another event may be substituted and these details will be confirmed in late April/Early may once we know these details.
