1 Village Manager s Office SUBJECT: Consideration of Resolutions authorizing approval of a Class L (BYOB) Liquor Licenses for Thai Inbox, 1417 Waukegan Road and Maru Sushi, 1859 Waukegan Road AGENDA ITEM: 4.c MEETING DATE: April 17, 2018 VILLAGE BOARD REPORT TO: Village President and Board of Trustees FROM: Don Owen, Deputy Village Manager (847) Brent Troxell, Assistant to the Village Manager (847) THROUGH: Matt Formica, Village Manager PURPOSE AND ACTION REQUESTED: Petitioner, Supasin Ratchadapronvanich (4 Ocean, Inc.) doing business as (dba) Thai Inbox and petitioner, Jay Min (C & M Food, Inc. doing business as (dba) Maru Sushi have made application for Board consideration for Class L (BYOB) Liquor Licenses, authorizing the consumption of beer and wine only brought onto the licensed premises of a restaurant or craft brewery at 1417 Waukegan Road. The requested action from the Board is to determine whether these licenses should be issued. BACKGROUND: Petitioner Ratchadapronvanich has applied for a Class L (BYOB) Liquor License for Thai Inbox, a full service restaurant that currently holds a Class B liquor license. Petitioner Min has applied for a Class L (BYOB) Liquor License for Maru Sushi, a full service restaurant that currently holds a Class B liquor license. All necessary paperwork has been submitted. DISCUSSION: The proposed Class L (BYOB) liquor licenses are the first two (2) Class L licenses applied for. A total of four (4) Class L licenses are allowed by Code. BUDGET: There is no budget impact to the Village. RECOMMENDATION: Staff is recommending that the Board of Trustees review Thai Inbox, 1417 Waukegan Road Class L Liquor License application and Maru Sushi, 1859 Waukegan Road Class L Liquor License application and determine whether they should be issued. WHEREAS, the Village of Glenview is a home-rule municipality located in Cook County, Illinois; WHEREAS, the corporate authorities have reviewed a Class L Liquor License Application, which is attached hereto as Exhibit A and incorporated herein by reference from C & M Food, Inc. dba Maru Sushi, 1859 Waukegan Road ( Maru Sushi ); and WHEREAS, the corporate authorities have determined that it is in the public interest to issue the Class L Liquor License to Maru Sushi. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Glenview, as follows: That the President and Village Clerk are authorized to issue a Class L Liquor License to Maru Sushi, 1859 Waukegan Road.
