4 Mission Our organization s mission is to advocate, collaborate and create networking opportunities so that new businesses can emerge and existing businesses can grow and prosper, while promoting our region as a premier year-round travel destination. Our objectives for fiscal are: to grow visitation volume to grow tourism revenues to track results through the metrics score card to be competitive with destinations in the Mid-Atlantic in next 3-5 years.

5 FY15-16 Funding Results Business and brand metrics: Generated over 41,000 room nights via Sports Williamsburg For FY we received 30 requests for grant funding from Sports Williamsburg for $195,577 in grant funds. We funded $90,000. The groups funded represent 29,039 room nights for the destination. Promoted successful Winter Blues Jazz festival Launched Spring Arts with 44 events for March May Produced and promoted Summer of Freedom concert series with Williamsburg Symphonia at Lake Matoaka Created new Visitor Guide and rack brochure for Freedom to have fun campaign Installed new digital signage at the East Coast Gateway Visitor Center Promoted Williamsburg Fall Arts with 100+ events from September October Launched new mobile-friendly VisitWilliamsburg.com website Developed and implemented successful inaugural Williamsburg Harvest Celebration Marketed successful advertising campaign for Christmas parade, Christmas in Williamsburg and Christmas Town, resulting in strong holiday visitation through New Year s Day.

8 Williamsburg Fall Arts Meal sales during WFA are now 27% higher than they were in 2009 with more than $669,000 in meal tax growth during the period. James City County sales taxes are up 25% over 2009 for the WFA period. James City County Lodging Room Nights are up 31% for the WFA period. Room revenues are now 51% higher than they were in 2009.

9 Christmas In Williamsburg Meal sales during the Christmas in Williamsburg promotion are now 49% higher than they were in James City County sales taxes are up 50% over 2009 for the Christmas period. James City County Lodging Room Night demand is up 40% for the WFA period. Room revenues are now 64% higher than they were in 2009.

10 Strategies We grow tourism through a sustained investment in key programs: Expand Fall Arts season to drive September - October visitation Market Spring Arts season to drive March - May visitation Promote Christmas/holiday season heavily November - New Year Build the Williamsburg Harvest Celebration to offer more food & beverage events, greater participation Partner with James City County and JCC businesses on events and festivals to drive tourism attendance Implement study recommendations to grow Sports Williamsburg Market a robust event schedule for year-round visitation
