1 Free drop in family activities Summer 2018 Annan Museum Our summer programme of drop in craft activities and gallery trails are inspired by the animals and plants you might find in the wetlands and bogs of Scotland. 11am - 3pm on each of the following Thursdays 5 July Frogtastic amphibians Use cardboard tubes, paper and pens to make fly catcher frogs and tumbling toads. 12 July Dramatic dragonflies Find out more about these beautiful insects and make your own giant dragonfly to take home. Drop in gallery activities available 24 June - 9 September 11am - 4pm, Monday to Saturday Interactive exhibition fun Flow Country gallery trail Colouring sheets and quizzes Animal and insect masks to make Annan Museum Bank Street, Annan DG12 6AA Tel: Opening hours: Monday - Saturday, 11am - 4pm Free entry 19 July Fearsome flowers Did you know that some plants eat insects? Find out more, add some imagination and make your own fearsome flowers. 26 July Cute caterpillars Use beads or paper to create these wiggly beasties. 2 August Birds above Find out the names of some of our birds that live in bogs. Make paper bird models to hang up at home. 9 August Slithering snakes Discover ssseveral different ways to make sssslithering paper snakes.

2 Dumfries Museum Free drop in family activities Summer 2018 Our summer programme of drop in craft activities and gallery trails are inspired by toys from the past. 10am - 12noon or 2pm - 4pm on each of the following Tuesdays 3 July Victorian optical toys Discover how the Victorians played with 3D and moving images using stereoscopes and zoetropes. Make your own animated flick book. Drop in gallery activities available every day 24 June - 31 August Giant games - Connect Four, building blocks and wooden train set Follow the Fun and Games gallery trail Colouring sheets and quizzes Talking Toys trail Free entry Dumfries Museum The Observatory, Rotchell Road, Dumfries. Make some props and practice your magic. 17 July Peg dolls and dudes Use scraps of cloth, bits and bobs to create mini people from old fashioned wooden pegs. 24 July Toy stories Fun interactive stories for children featuring toys. Create art works inspired by the stories. 31 July Toy Olympics How many hoola hoops can you wiggle, how quickly can you catch the ball in the cup, how many yos can you do with your yoyo? Have fun with our toy challenges. 7 August Pull along toys Make a pull along horse toy with wooden wheels. 14 August Board game bonanza Try out our selection of board games and make up your own version of snakes and ladders.
