1 st Alliance/Lions Jrs Travel Doc We have scheduled several out-of-town volleyball tournaments for each team for this season. As usual, the club will handle MOST player hotel reservations for travel over 2 hours unless noted - you do not need to make reservations for your daughter. However, parents are responsible for their own hotel reservations if they choose to go. For all tournaments, parents should contact the hotel or the reservation service and make reservations for themselves. The reservation instructions below pertain to all tournaments that Lions Jrs and 1st Alliance teams will be competing. Your daughter's team will compete in some, but not all, of the tournaments listed below. Please check your daughter's schedule and make your reservations according to the tournaments that her team will participate in. IF you purchase airline tickets for a travel event and your daughter changes teams for any reason, the club is not responsible for the cost of those tickets. Make sure you are aware of all airline cancellation policies. When scheduling flights, please book flights according to guidelines set up for each event,

2 typically arriving PRIOR to 8pm and departing AFTER 6pm. Year-end National events you will be asked to arrive by 4pm. Contact your coach if you have a question. 15 AAU Nationals Orlando Dates: June 16- June 28, 2018 Players and coaches will be staying in condos at: The Floridays Resort International Dr Orlando, Fl More tournament info can be found at: onals.aspx Play will take place at: Disney s Wide World of Sports Complex and the Orange County Convention Center Parents: Contact your coach for their flight info as coaches will assist unaccompanied players TO the hotel the day of check in if they are on one of our coach s flights. Each family is responsible for booking their own daughter s flight. If parents are not planning to attend, they should book their daughter on a flight with another family or one of our coach s flights. It is highly suggested that any unaccompanied players fly home with another family or player on the team as coaches have tournament responsibilities after the tournament is over and should not be responsible for players once the season/tournament concludes. IF you need an appointed coach/chaperone to be responsible for your daughter after the tournament concludes, please make arrangements well in advance and an additional fee can be added to your travel fee. Please plan to be in Orlando at the hotel, BY 5pm the day before play and book departures for after 7pm the last day of competition or the next day. Do NOT plan to go to Orlando EARLY without asking about the practice schedule your team will be practicing the week before you go. 16 Last year, a few of the championships were at 7pm on the final day and we did have several teams earn medals last year! Players are free to leave with their parents at the conclusion of play or reffing. Teams that qualify for Detroit will NOT go to Orlando. If a team qualifies and does not attend AAU s, you will need to be aware of the flight and transfer restrictions your airline might have if you book early.
