3 ITINERARY WEDNESDAY 09 OCTOBER AUSTRALIA Depart Australia on an overnight flight to Tokyo. THURSDAY 10 OCTOBER TOKYO D Arrival into Tokyo. You will be met at the airport by an English speaking guide and your coach driver. As per Japanese regulations the coach will stop every 2 hours for a minimum of 15 minutes for the duration of the tour. Tokyo is definitely one of those top places in every traveller s to-do list. The city is a marvellous mix of modern living and old-fashioned manners, slick high-tech gadgets and cutesy cartoon mascots. There are shrines and stone lanterns and other traces of old Japan scattered among the skyscrapers, swanky shopping malls and hole-in-the-wall noodle shops. This morning there will be a guided sightseeing tour of Tokyo. Visit Tsukiji outer Market, Japan's "Food Town," where one can encounter all kinds of Japanese traditional foods. A mixture of wholesale and retail shops along with numerous restaurants line the streets and new culinary trends are born here. There will also be a stop at Meiji Shrine. This afternoon check into your accommodation, here you will stay overnight on a bed and breakfast basis. Tonight there will be a tour welcome dinner.

4 FRIDAY 11 OCTOBER TOKYO/SHIZUOKA B After breakfast this morning check out of your hotel. Today you will travel by coach to the Hamamatsu region. Experience a trip on the Oigawa Railway Steam Train. Oigawa Railway is the only railway in Japan running Steam Locomotives throughout the year. Enjoy the view of the vast green tea fields along the Oi River, which flows from the Southern Alps, while listening to the wheels squeaking; a very special experience. Continue onto Shizuoka where you will stay for the next two nights on a bed and breakfast basis. 7.15pm Kick Off Australia v Georgia After the match return to your hotel. SATURDAY 12 OCTOBER SHIZUOKA B Breakfast at your hotel. Today you will depart on a full day sightseeing tour of the Shizuoka and Mt Fuji region. Stop at Mt Fuji 5 th Station. Visit Oshino hakkai (Springs of Mount Fuji). A small village with 8 ponds, each pond has its own special story. The most popular is Waku pond which you can drink from freely to enjoy the pure water from spring. Spend the afternoon at Gotenba Outlet containing over 200 different stores.

5 SUNDAY 13 OCTOBER SHIZUOKA/NAGOYA/KYOTO B/L Breakfast at your hotel prior to check out. Today you will travel to Kyoto, via Nagoya. You will visit Nagoya Castle, built in the beginning of the Edo Period as the seat of one of the three branches of the ruling Tokugawa family. It was one of the largest castles in the country, and the castle town around it ultimately grew to become Japan's fourth largest city. Also visit the Toyota Factory for a tour. Visitors can see how body parts are welded onto a vehicle body and parts are assembled to form a complete vehicle. After lunch you will continue onto Kyoto, here you will stay for the next three nights on a bed and breakfast basis. Kyoto is old Japan, while the rest of Japan has adopted modernity, the old ways are still clinging on in Kyoto. World famous for its wonderful temples and shrines, but that s only the beginning of the story. There s also incredible shopping, bicycling, hiking, museums, galleries and green spaces.

6 MONDAY 14 OCTOBER KYOTO B/L Breakfast at your hotel. Depart for a full day sightseeing tour of Kyoto with lunch. Explore the Arashiyama Bamboo Grove. The thick green bamboo stalks seem to continue endlessly in every direction and there s a strange quality to the light at this famous bamboo grove. You will visit Kinkakuji Temple (Golden Pavilion) where the top two floors are completely covered in gold leaf. Enjoy a trip on the Sagano Scenic Railway (Torokko Train) where the charming old fashion trains wind their way through the forested ravine and into rural Kameoka. You will experience a Hozugawa River Cruise which utilize traditional style, flat bottomed boats piloted by boatmen who guide the craft with oars and bamboo poles. The boats take about two hours to leisurely make their way down the river and are a relaxing way to see the natural scenery of the largely undeveloped ravine.

Today you will travel to Hiroshima, stopping at Himeji for lunch. Visit Himeji Castle, also known as the White Heron Castle due to its elegant white appearance Himeji Castle is widely considered the most spectacular castle in Japan. Upon arrival to Hiroshima check into your hotel, here you will stay for the next two nights on a bed and breakfast basis. A visit to Hiroshima naturally focuses on memorials to the atomic bombing of 1945, but that s not the end of the story. You will visit the Atomic Bomb Memorial before taking a ferry to Miyajima. Visit the famous Itsukushima Shrine on Miyajima Island. This iconic shrine is known for its floating torii gate. This afternoon and evening is at your leisure to explore Hiroshima. You may like to visit the Hiroshima Peace Memorial park and museum. Stroll narrow cobbled streets in the seaside town of Tomo-no-ura, go temple hunting in Onomichi, sip sake at one of many breweries in Saijō, and save some time for reflection in an ancient Shintō shrine in Ōmishima. FRIDAY 18 OCTOBER HIROSHIMA/FUKUOKA B/L Breakfast at your hotel prior to check out. Today you will travel from Hiroshima to Fukuoka. Stop for lunch in Shimonoseki, famous for its seafood, particularly fugu, the potentially lethal pufferfish. Yufuin has a wealth of art museums, cafes and boutiques. Visit to Lake Kinrin, a small lake with clear waters that well up from a hot spring. 11 MONDAY 21 OCTOBER OITA/SHIKOKU/OKAYAMA B After Breakfast this morning check out of your hotel. This morning you will travel by Ferry from Oita to Shikoku. Shikoku is synonymous with natural beauty and the pursuit of spiritual perfection. It's home to the 88 Sacred Temples of Shikoku, Japan's most famous pilgrimage. Visit Dōgo Onsen, one of Japan's oldest and most famous hot springs, located to the east of central Matsuyama. The area is popular for its beautiful bath house and many ryokan. Travel on the Shimanami Kaido before arriving in Okayama, here you will stay for the next two nights on a bed and breakfast basis. Tour costs shown are subject to alteration (up or down) due to exchange rate fluctuations and increases in land and air costs which arise prior to receipt of final payment. Reservations and Deposits: First deposit: $2, per person and a completed booking form is required at the time of booking to secure your Rugby World Cup tour and match tickets. Interim payment: $5, per person due no later than September 1 st, If the initial deposit is paid after September 1 st, 2018 the deposit will be $7, per person (payment 1 & 2 combined). Final payment: Balance of payment is due no later than the June 1 st, Tax invoices for the Interim and Final payments will be issued prior to the relevant due dates. Late payment may result in the cancellation of your reservation and will be subject to cancellation fees. Deposit & payment conditions for extended travel arrangements will be advised when bookings are requested. Cancellation: If you are forced to cancel your reservation, your intention to do so must be notified to Gullivers Sport Travel in writing. Applicable cancellation fees:prior to August 31 st, 2018: $1, per person. September 1 st 2018 to May 31 st 2019: $4, per person. June 1 st, 2019 to departure day: 100% of total tour cost per person. After commencement of travel no refunds under any circumstances. It is imperative that comprehensive travel insurance is taken at the time of booking. Besides covering all medical and loss of baggage during the tour, the policy covers loss of deposit if you cancel due to medical reasons (see policy details). Amendment Fee: Any person wishing to amend from the group tour arrangements before or after the tour package must notify Gullivers Sport Travel in writing and will be charged a standard $ amendment fee per person plus any additional charges involved with the amendment (increase in airfare, additional transfers, accommodation etc). Please note that your deviation may be subject to airline / supplier season changes and may incur additional costs, surcharges & taxes. Documentation: All passengers require a passport with minimum 6 months validity from your return date to Australia. Passengers traveling on a passport other than an Australian passport must advise Gullivers Sport Travel to ensure you meet visa requirements overseas and on your return to Australia. Visa requirements are the passengers own responsibility. Please ensure all names provided to us are as per the passengers passports. Baggage: Free baggage allowance one piece weighing maximum 20 kg (this may vary with some airlines) plus 1 cabin bag (piece) of 115cm with a maximum weight of 5kg per person (economy class). Luggage in excess of these limits will be charged at the appropriate excess baggage rates by the airline. Baggage is the responsibility of the passenger at all times (Travel Insurance is strongly recommended). Travel Insurance Protection: Travel insurance is strongly advised for all tour members. Brochures detailing coverage are available from Gullivers Sport Travel s preferred insurer and will be forwarded to you on request. Please note Travel Insurance will provide cover 12 months prior to departure.

22 Accommodation: If you are wanting to share with another tour member we will endeavour to meet your request. However in the event that this it is not possible then the single room supplement must be paid. Airport Taxes (Departure, Arrival, Security & Government taxes etc): Are not included in the tour cost as they are continually changing ie. due to exchange rate fluctuations, adding & deleting of taxes etc. Taxes will be advised and payable at the time of final payment. Airline Surcharges & Levies: The current fuel surcharge has been included in the tour cost but is subject to change. Any of these charges imposed by the airline will be notified to you and payable at the time of final payment. Frequent flyer/mileage accrual: Some group airfares are not eligible to accrue frequent flyer points (due to discounted group airfares). Please advise your travel consultant if you are a member of the airlines associated frequent flyer program to see if your fare is eligible for frequent flyer point accrual. Travel Advisories: We strongly suggest that you consult the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFAT) website and register (either group or individual) so that you are kept up to date with any travel warnings or advisories that may be in place for your destinations ( You should also advise DFAT of your travel details such as date of departure and itinerary. Travel and Immunisations: It is essential that all tour participants discuss their personal travel plans with a health professional to ensure you have the correct vaccinations for your trip and any booster doses of childhood vaccinations you may need. Upon reentry into Australia, Customs & Immigration will request a copy of your vaccination certificate if you have visited areas that have current health risks or hazardous diseases.
