2 Invitation to the Greeting on the opening of the CONET2001 JAPAN As we enter the new millennium, we are very pleased to announce the opening of "CONET2001 JAPAN -- Fiscal 2001 International Exhibition of Construction Machinery and Technology --", organized by JCMA (Japan Construction Mechanization Association) The technological levels of construction machinery and techniques for executing construction works in Japan are currently leading the world and the trends in Japan are attracting the attention of relevant industries and trades from all over the world. This success has been due to the efforts and zeal exhibited toward the mechanization of construction works on the part of relevant industries and trades in Japan after the World WarII. We would like to express our sincere thanks to all the people and corporations concerned for their effort in making it such a success. Since its inauguration in 1949, CONET has served to exhibit construction machinery and execution techniques of the highest technological level, gaining very favorable public approval. Recently, this exhibition is being held every two years as the largest of its type for construction machinery and execution techniques in Asia. This year, as the first exhibition in the 21st Century, the CONET2001 JAPAN is being held for 4 days from September 19 (Wednesday) through 22 (Saturday) 2001 at the "TOKYO BIG SIGHT" in Ariake, Tokyo. At this exhibition, many corporations from Japan and around the world are participating to show off their construction machinery, techniques for executing construction works and various superb construction-related products. The show has gained acceptance among construction-related people and corporations as the source of truly valuable information. Some event corners will be arranged in the Exhibition to offer an introduction of high-tech application. The Conet2001 serves as the best gateway to a rising Asian construction market and gives you an ideal opportunity to meet leaders in the construction industry and manufacturers. Outline of CONET 2001 JAPAN Exhibition contents: (1) Introduction of various construction machines and construction work execution techniques. (2) Introduction of various facilities and materials related to construction works. (3) Introduction of various equipment and materials related to the environment, recycling and waste treatment. (4) Exhibition of the latest construction technologies by public organizations, etc. Event Corners: Construction IT Corner Information Technology Information incentive construction system through CALS/EC, GPS and so on. Non-hazardous lubrication oil and so on. Material Recycling Systems No more space or land is prepared for waste disposals and they would be recycled as a material of construction. Concrete, wood, metals, soil, debris are used again through innovated recycling technology. 3 Application for Exhibition [Floor Space] A rectangular-shaped exhibition space surrounded by passage ways. For fire services, standing a tall structure or/and floating display over 7m height should be reported and accepted by organizer. Stabilizing structure and heavy exhibition over 5t/sqm and/or 50t/unit should be reported and accepted by organizer. Standard spaces are listed on the application form. Meanwhile, an exceptional choice may also be approved depending upon the type of exhibit. [Booth] Each booth is surrounded by partitions in three directions or in two directions in the case of corner booths and the partitions will be installed by the organizer. A unit of booth is 9 sqm (3x3m, center to center of walls) and the height of each partition is 2.7 meters. When occupying multiple booths, only the width is increased, with the 3m depth. The height of the exhibits, exhibition facilities and decorations in the booth should be up to 2.7 meters. Standard set for a unit booth is fascia board with exhibitor's name, one desk, two chairs. Standard Booth Exhibition and Fees 2 Lights Wall panels 3. Payment of the exhibition fees After receipt of your application form, we will issue an invoice for the exhibition fee. Please remit the invoiced amount to the bank account designated by the Secretariat before the due date. Due date May 31 (Thursday), 2001 When your remittance of the exhibition fee is confirmed by our Secretariat, the application procedure will be deemed to have been completed. Meanwhile, already paid exhibition fees will not be refunded, in principle. On the contrary, if you fail to remit the exhibition fee within the due date, your qualification to exhibition may be cancelled. (Note) The bank remittance charges are be to borne by the exhibitor. Also, the remittance receipt issued by the remitting bank shall substitute as our formal receipt. 4. Cancellation of application In principle, cancellation is not allowed once application has been filed. Nonetheless, if the organizer deems it necessary to cancel the application for an unavoidable reason, the following cancellation fee will be applied. An invoice for floor, booth fee and/or optional charge will be sent after exhibition accepted by organizer. The optional telephone charge 50,000yen and electricity charge 50,000yen (plus 5% tax) will be adjusted at the end of October 2001 through bank account. Application Procedure 1. Phone: Deadline May 10 (Thursday), 2001 Applications filed after the deadline may not be accepted Precautions when applying for exhibition Applicants will receive a "Handbook on the Exhibition" containing the exhibition rules, documents which need to be submitted and other necessary information. When the organizer considers that exhibition contents do not fit the objectives and purposes of this exhibition, those exhibits may be rejected. Applicants shall not transfer nor lend the exhibition space in whole or in part to a third party regardless of whether or not it is charged for or provided free. The overall layout of the exhibition halls and locations of exhibitors shall be determined by the organizer after thorough consideration has been given to the exhibition area, size and weight of the respective exhibits and exhibition contents of the respective exhibitors. Diagrams of the exhibition hall layout will be issued at the explanatory meeting for the exhibitors. Due to structural limitations of the exhibition halls, certain restrictions will be placed on heavy exhibits. Those exhibits which do not satisfy the weight restrictions may be rejected. Engine-powered demonstrations are prohibited in the indoor exhibition halls. When the organizer considers it impossible or difficult to open the exhibition due to natural disasters or any other uncontrollable cause, the organizer may postpone the opening or cancel the exhibition altogether. The organizer shall not be held responsible for any damages or losses arising from such postponement or cancellation. Charges and expenses for electricity (trunk wiring expenses and power rates), telephone (wiring expenses and telephone call fees) and other necessary expenses shall be settled after the exhibition ends. Also, all expenses related to transportation and hauling of exhibits in and out of the exhibition site, expenses for decorations and local electric wiring work inside the respective booths, insurance premiums and any other expenses incurred by the exhibitors shall all be borne by the respective exhibitors. To ensure smooth execution of all necessary exhibition work, the organizer may supplement or revise the exhibition rules or details. Infringement of the exhibition rules or details by the exhibitor may result in the exhibitor's participation in this exhibition being rejected depending on the circumstances.
