Vmworld Best place to stay

I stayed at the Palace Hotel (#28) in 2007, I liked the hotel for the most part. It was a little bit of a walk from the center, but I enjoyed the walk when the weather was nice. The rooms were a little dated, no flat screens and stuff like that. But the staff were accomidating and the room service was good. 1

2 This year I am staying at the W, hopefully...i am just looking for a hotel that I can sneak back to during breaks. Plus the fam are taggin along. I took the BART from the airport to with in a block of the hotel. The hotel itself is only a block from the Apple store, major shopping, and the F-Train which will take you down to Fisherman's Wharf for a $1.00. Walk out the door, cross Mission, and then you are in the park above the Mascone Center. Not to mention that the instructor labs will be held in this hotel as well. Just another bonus. 5 For those of us that can't afford $250/night, there are a TON of "bijou" hotels all over the Union Square area. I suggest a site like Expedia or Priceline that offers address-based searches and use the SFO Marriott as a starting point and checking a 1-mile radius. If you're OK with quirky consider the "Personality Hotels of Union Square" - Hotel Diva is kinda cool, and the lobby door opens into a California Pizza Kitchen for all your late night snack needs. But as with most older SFO properties the rooms are not expansive... If you do end up in the Marriott plan to take some photos from the rooftop hotel - it will be loaded with stuffed shirts, but if you ask nicely you can usually barge your way into someones table to grab a few snaps of the city - no better view on that side of town! 5

6 Plan an afternoon to walk the Embarcadero and be sure to stop into the "farmers market" - great eats! 6
