9 Viticulture œnology: an original business model Creation of a platform to promote the wines of Montpellier and its region and commercialize them in the city of Chengdu, capital of the Province of Sichuan. End of January 2013, 14,000 bottles were exported to Chengdu. Objective for 2013 was 150,000. Expectations: reduce the number and secure the distribution channels by associating with a Chinese state partner and a network of buyers with partners approved by the Chengdu agglomeration. Creation of a website to provide a direct link between the buyers and the wine growers from the Montpellier region.

10 A territory for audacious projects EcoCity: «From Montpellier to the sea» One of the thirteen projects approved by the State, Architect: Bernard Reichen (recipient of the Grand Prix for Urbanism in 2005 thanks to the SCOT (a comprehensive town plan). This is an emblematic project of a type of sustainable urbanism, that is both new and ambitious. Covering 2,500 hectares, the economic development continues apace while safeguarding the environment and reinventing the city of tomorrow organized around its citizens. The EcoCity incorporates several major projects: Center of excellence in the field of gerontology in the Eurêka Sablassou neighborhood The further development of the Port of Marianne in Montpellier The future mixed district around the high speed train (TGV) station, Odysseum The vast urban redevelopment project «Route de la Mer Avenue Georges Frêche» in the local authority districts of Lattes and Pérols
