8 Visit Cardiff Marketing Strategy We facilitate content through visitor experience itineraries, blog posts, major events web pages and themed guides. This content is then marketed to our databases through monthly e- newsletters and targeted e-blasts. We have 25K leisure subscribers and a trade database of 4K. The Visit Cardiff Blog receives 100K page views annually.

10 Travel Trade Visit Cardiff participates in over 12 trade exhibitions each year with the aim of enhancing existing tours to Cardiff and introducing Cardiff as a must see destination to new programs. We work with tour operators, travel agents, coach operators, professional confer ence organisers and event management companies. We need bloggers to write itineraries, packaging together attractions with restaurants & hotels for the group market.
11 Cardiff Visitor Card Our Visitor card is the key to the city. Featuring offers, discounts and treats across a range of attractions, shops, restaurants and hotels. It s available to buy in both TIC s and visitor information points throughout the city. We sell it in bulk to overseas group tour operators and have plans to incorporate a travel pass with it.
12 Social Media Our social media has three functions: - To furnish the visitor & residents with up to date info & travel advice - To promote the destination to international visitors - To enhance the marketing capability of Cardiff s tourism businesses Our channels have a large national and international following. 65K Combined Following We craft content around tourism product and major events, suitable for each channel and promote this to a tailored audience based on sex, location and interests. The main advantage of our social channels is the exposure to audiences outside of Cardiff and Wales.
13 UEFA Champions League Final Social Media Campaign Hosting the world s biggest sporting event in Cardiff gave Visit Cardiff an excellent platform to raise Cardiffs profile and capitalise on opportunities of the eyes of the world being on Cardiff during the UEFA Champions League Final. We delivered a targeted destination social campaign communicating key messages linking to the Visit, Meet, Invest agenda, covering pre, during and post event. To Support Visit Wales Year of Legends we created a series of quirky videos encouraging followers to nominate their own Cardiff legend. From a lion on the animal wall nominating Charlotte Church to a montage of familiar locals revealing theirs, our videos generated over 150 entries.
14 UEFA Champions League Final Social Media Campaign International visitor guides Enlisting the help of a few local faces, we created a series of guides showcasing the very best of Cardiff to fans across Europe. We translated the guides into the native languages of the football clubs, filmed videos with our Italian, Spanish, German, Catalan & French insiders. We had media coverage from The One Show, WalesOnline & S4C.

17 Visit Cardiff takeover: London Paddington Capitalising on the success of the previous Paddington takeover for the Nato Summit in 2014, we produced a range of marketing collateral and developed Cardiff messaging for the Champions League Final. These encompassed a Visit Meet Invest agenda, advertising our websites and positioning Cardiff as a leading destination for events of any size. We won a Financial Times Strategy Award for social Media Marketing in 2016 and hope to do the same again in
