Welcome to Camp JCC During the school year I am the Children s Programs and Camps Manager and *POOF* by summer I transform into the Summer Camp Director. Everyone here at the JCC is super-excited to bring back the fun and energy that comes along with each and every summer camp season. This is my seventh summer working at the JCC and hands down this is my favorite time of year! There are so many cool activities going on that it s impossible not to have a blast. Each year brings both new and old faces, and with them new and exciting adventures. Our goal at Camp JCC is to provide a wonderful camp experience with your child s safety and well-being as our number one priorities. Our camp staff participate in an intense comprehensive training session and have past experience working with children. We ensure that each staff member is well-supported each week. Please take a few moments to look through the brochure and familiarize yourself with our outstanding and unique programs. Well this week is for you! We pull from all the great themes and condense them into one excitement-filled week! *Four-day week: No camp July 3 Movin & Groovin Week 3 July Are you ready to explore your inner star? Step into a world filled with dance, drama, and music! This week will focus on building confidence as well as encouraging independent expression through dramatic arts Under Construction with bricks 4 kids week 2 July Grab your hard hat and put up the scaffolding, it s time to build it! Let s get ready for some hands on DIY projects, as we work with Lego, clay, play-dough and other creative mediums. Bricks 4 Kidz will be joining us for children 5+ years of age for some Lego activities Sailin at the JCSea Week 4 July Let s hang loose and catch the wave in this aquatic adventure! You will get wet, you may even get drenched with all this waterfilled wackiness. Exploring the outdoors and learning about all of the colourful critters this world has to offer is the expedition of the week. 6 sports Camps Sports 101 Week 1* July 4-7 Summer Sports Camp is now in session! It s time to put down the pencils and unlock the equipment room. Spend the day playing some of the most popular sports including soccer, floor hockey, basketball, and more. An excellent start to the summer season! *Four-day week: No camp July 3 Hike & Cycle Week 3 July Clean off your bike and grab your sneakers we are hiking and biking during this adventure-filled week! Our days will be busy riding on our city s fabulous bike paths, as well as exploring the interesting trails around the JCC. Bikes and helmets must be brought from home children must have basic biking skills Epic Games week 2 July We are taking epic to a whole new level this summer! This week is full of all those cool activities you know and love. Laser tag, dodgeball, capture the flag, and more big group games as epic as they come! Aquamania Week 4 July There is no better way to spend the summer than riding the waves, having water fights, or splashing at the water park. Be warned: you will get wet, you may even get drenched! Specialized camps JCC Bow Cycle Kids 9:00am-4:00pm This summer we are pleased to announce that our JCC Bow Cycle Kids camp will now be offered for full days!

Whether just starting, developing your skills, or cruising around, the Calgary JCC in partnership with Bow Cycle, are proud to bring you this cycling camp!

That s why we re passionate about keeping the play in ball! Children participate in the skills and games of seven different sports: soccer, hockey, basketball, baseball, volleyball, tennis, and golf.

This program is designed to begin transitioning your children from four wheels to two, while at the same time teaching them introductory biking concepts centered around technique and safety.

A full day will include additional cycling time, as well as components from our classic camp. Send the bat hero swinging on his grappling hook technic model from one skyscraper to the next as he fights crime with his trusty super sidekick. Campers will use their imaginations, building skills and crime-fighting passion in this thrilling camp of bat heroes and villains! A 20% administration fee will be charged to all withdrawals. 5. If a camper withdraws during the camp session, no refund will be given. 6. No refunds will be given for absences during camp session. 7.

Payment plans are available upon request. All fees must be paid prior to Week 1 (July 4) of camp. Please set up payment schedule through the JCC Customer Service Desk. 3. If withdrawing from a camp session a minimum of five business days written notice must be provided. No refund will be provided with less than five days notice. A 20% administration fee will be charged to all withdrawals. 5. If a camper withdraws during the camp session, no refund will be given. 6. No refunds will be given for absences during camp session. 7. Each camp group requires a minimum number of campers to operate. Camper groups may be blended to ensure requirements are met. 8. Member prices are not available for children of families holding individual or senior memberships. Member prices are available for families with a valid membership for the week attending. 9. Please bring a hat, bathing suit, towel, sunscreen, lunch with snacks, and a labeled water bottle every day. 10. We are allergy and kosher sensitive. If you are uncertain as to what foods are acceptable, please contact Ryan Pratt, JCC Camp Director at or rpratt@cjcc.ca. lunch option Main dish, fruit / veggie, cookie, and drink is provided by Karen s Café for an additional fee of $45 per week.* * Week 1 and 6 lunch option is $36 due to a short week. Lunch option will not be available for Week 9. Zero Tolerance Policy Our zero tolerance policy exists to protect our campers and leaders against violence, bullying, name calling, teasing, etc. At Camp JCC we do not want to see any camper dismissed for behavioral reasons. We make every effort to work with day campers and allow them the opportunity to correct their mistakes when they are misbehaving. However, we do have a zero tolerance policy for campers committing excessive verbal or physical abuse towards campers or leaders. This behavior would include: hitting, punching, kicking, or other forms of fighting, verbal threats of violence, and excessive name calling and swearing. Furthermore, any camper caught stealing or damaging another person s property will also be subject to our zero tolerance policy. These previously mentioned behaviors will not be tolerated and may result in expulsion for the remainder of the camp session. 10 To register contact the JCC Customer Service Desk at ext.0
