1 Music Campsite files 2013 Het Pakt Music Campsites Camping and music. Two totally different things. We bring them together. The music is made by a 'fictitious' fanfare. Each band member is life-size printed on photo paper. The whole band is temporarily housed in special transparent igloos. Every musician has his own tent. Each tent will have its own sound depending on the instrument used. The musicians are thus protected from the weather. They bring a festive song called "Suzanna". This number is the start for a series of self-created songs, all are being performed by the fictitious band members. The visitor walks through a real-sounding fanfare where the individual sound of each instrument merges into a real marching band performance. The arrangement of the tents varies depending on the form and content. Hopper is in the form of a city campsite. This installation is built up in the height, such as a block of flats. This campsite is spread over several floors in a pyramid shape. The visitor can access this installation onto the 2nd floor. At the core of the pyramid there is room for many tents, each harboring an installation created specifically on the form and content of this tent. Utrecht/ Festival aan de werf

2 Best Wishes Tower is in the form of a city campsite, the same shape as Hopper. This variation to our installation in Utrecht was fully created by Het Pakt. During the transition from old to new this year there will be a shining point on earth to be witnessed. An unusual phenomenon. A special, favorable and hopeful gleam. BEST WISHES recreates the Kortrijk city center to a square of happiness, prosperity and good health. Central stands a tower with four floors. On it are transparent tents where a brass band blows party-music and where everyone, in an unforgettable way, receives his best wishes. At the ground floor we organized a bar fully adapted to the special atmosphere of feast and happiness. People could drink a glass of champagne with an own wish engraved on the surface of the glass. On the first floor the brass band plays at the outskirts of the square, in the center we have six specially created tents in the theme of the end of the year. On the second floor people could visit two specially created tents while on the outskirts of the square the rest of the brass band plays their individual tune. On the third floor we introduce our special wish messengers who bring luck and wellbeing over the town of Kortrijk. People can visit the tower up to the second floor and have a clear and overall view of the central market place of Kortrijk.. O Our engraver working in his own special tent, he scratches all wishes on the glass surface. The tent of the world famous hand shaker invited everybody to have his own individualized handshake.

3 El Sol is the rural version of our campsites. This installation takes the form of a sol key on a grassy plain. The visitor gets a true camping experience that is uplifted by the music. But especially the idea that they walk through the shape of a Sol key and this can only be viewed from above is a thrilling thought. From the ground this form can t be recognized. In one of the tents is a model of the form or a TV set that captures a live image from above. Surround is a version of the campsite in a double circle. Two circles interlaced accommodate both the brassband and an inner circle with smaller tents where people are invited to enter... and discover. In these little tents people can listen and communicate with one another while mothers are singing lullabies as background vocals. A night light flickers cozy. The tranquility of an intimate space spreads in the transparent dome tent.

4 My Happy ghetto is a campsite in which a whistle concert plays the leading role. People from the neighborhood are invited to cover their favorite song by whistling the same tune. These different versions of the same whistled song are bundled together to form a choir. A flute choir. People retain their own identity and yet there is the group. Together and yet alone. They whistle in a choir the version of "Smoke on the Water" by Deep Purple or The Blue Danube. Besides these songs still many other famous songs that are etched in memory as unforgettable are covered. The tents are grouped around a special space in which images are projected from the participants in the flute choir.

5 Hullabaloo in the oasis the total artistic version of our camping facilities. In this form, we provide a full camp. We show the fanfare in about 30 tents supplemented by the sleeping tents that cover a full circle of about 20 tents. This camp version is further enhanced with larger individual tents (transparent plastic igloo tents). Each tent contains an installation (sometimes very small and intimate) build by one of the members of het pakt or a friend artist. The total package contains about 20 individual installations placed in one of these tents. Visitors are encouraged to enter and to investigate actively about the what and the how of these installations. The installations are easy accessible and child friendly.

6 El Sol-leie is floating on the River Lys in Kortrijk. The party feeling has a real impact through our "fictitious" fanfare that floats on the water. This band is protected from weather, wind and water through specially set up tents that can float. Each tent has the still image of a musician. It is a life-size picture of this musician. The tent has an igloo shape and is completely transparent. Each tent has its own sound that sounds synchronous with the instrument of the musician. A boat takes you from tent to tent and so you can discover the individual sound of each musician. All tents together sound like a complete fanfare across this river. For the occasion they bring the party song "Suzanne". When darkness falls special spotlights lights up the musicians. This gives the whole installation a surreal appearance. The tents now resembles to live sized snow globes in which fantasy and reality have closed a stylish union.
