2 Dear Pastor and Camp Sponsors, Church Camp 16 It is only a few short months until Church Camp 16. Thank you for taking time to consider bringing your group to camp. We focus on creating a fun and safe environment where Christ will be glorified. Our theme this year will be Living On Mission. We will look at Romans 10:14-15, and our prayer is that all campers will develop a better understanding that we are each responsible for sharing the good news everywhere we go throughout our lives. We will be challenged to LEAD, SERVE & GO. We are blessed this year to have Bro. Todd West as our camp evangelist and Bro. Doug Mickan as our worship leader. They always do a tremendous job of bringing the message from God. Please read this packet in its entirety. There are a few things that you need to take special note of and be sure that your campers and camp sponsors are aware of BEFORE coming to camp. 1. The increase in camp fees over last year is a result of a $15 increase in what the camp charges per camper to cover their costs. 2. As a way to offset the increased cost, the camp has offered to serve a buffet style meal for lunch on Monday at no additional charge. If you want to take advantage of this, then you must RSVP on your registration form so that they can plan accordingly. The meal will be from 11am-1pm. 3. The dress code is explained in the following pages as to what is allowed. Please understand that you are responsible for making sure that your campers AND sponsors follow the dress code. Our standards are not extreme, but they are Christian. 4. Modest dress is expected at all times, but especially for the evening worship services. We would ask that everyone wear pants to the service and girls are welcome to wear dresses if they would like. 5. Camp is not a place to come and find a date. There is nothing wrong with having fun at camp, but please let your campers know that NO public display of affection is to happen at camp. We want our kids to be focused on what God has to say to them during the week and not on how many boyfriends/girlfriends they can have during the week. 6. We have had some problems with phones and personal electronic devices in the past. The rules are very clear that these types of devices are not allowed during camp. The idea is to get away from the normal influences and allow God to work in our lives. Please understand that if these are found at camp they will be confiscated until the end of the week. 7. Please find the enclosed Cabin Inspection guide so that you can understand what is expected and how the cabins should be kept. 8. For our late-night time together on Monday and Tuesday nights, we will have Movie Night. I m not sure exactly which one yet, but it will be appropriate for all ages. Thank you again for thinking of BMA Camp as an option for your group this summer. I look forward to seeing you there. If you have any questions, please contact me at (501) or by at jherring@insideoakpark.com. In His Service, Jeff Herring Camp Director BMA Church Camp 2

3 REGISTRATION INFORMATION BMA Church Camp is designed for people ages 9 and up. The cost is $ per camper. Children under the age of 9 may attend if accompanied by their parent or legal guardian. This provision is for those sponsors who must bring their own children to camp. Children ages 3 years through completion of kindergarten will be charged a $35 camp fee. Visitors are welcome to come and visit during the day or evening services. The camp rules also apply to visitors while they are on the campgrounds. Visitors are welcome for meals, but they will need to pay $5.00 per meal. PRE-REGISTRATION for Camp is required! The following guidelines were initiated to clarify registration procedures: 1. Churches attending camp previously will be given first option. 2. Additional Church groups will be accepted as space permits on a first come basis. 3. ALL registrations must be postmarked by May 31, Registrations beyond camp capacity cannot be accepted. Please beware of these guidelines and abide by them. NOTE: Please do not come to camp with more campers than you have registered. At that point it is impossible to find a place for extras. If one person drops out, another person of the same gender may come in that person s place. You will find more information about camp registration on the enclosed form. NOTE: You should plan to arrive and register at camp between Noon and 2:00 p.m. on Monday, June 20, Please come to the foyer of the NEW tabernacle and register BEFORE unloading your kids. There will also be an opportunity for a GROUP photo after you register. The camp will provide a lunch buffet at no extra charge on Monday for groups that RSVP. The next meal on the schedule will be at 5:30 p.m. HISTORY of BMA CHURCH CAMP BMA Church Camp is sponsored by the Baptist Missionary Association Youth Camp Board and is open to any BMA Church. The Camp was started 1978 by a group of pastors, mostly of the Greenbrier Missionary Baptist Local Association. Ten years after its beginning the camp outgrew the campgrounds in the area and divided. LOCATION BMA Church Camp meets at the Budd Creek Baptist Campgrounds just off Hwy. 92, east of Greers Ferry, Arkansas. Budd Creek has wonderful facilities: a NEW air-conditioned worship center, dorm style air-conditioned cabins, plenty of showers, an excellent cafeteria where meals are served family-style (food on the table when you get there) with a salad bar at the noon and evening meals. Recreation facilities include a covered basketball court, swimming pool, ping-pong area, lighted sand volleyball court, miniature golf course, horseshoe pits, softball field and more. Washer and dryer are also available. The phone number for Budd Creek Baptist Campground, Greers Ferry, is (501) This number is for emergencies only. If you need to call, (1) tell them who the message is for, (2) which group they are with, and (3) who the sponsor is. The camp s website is 3

He graduated with a Bachelor of Music from Missouri Baptist College in St. Louis in Prior to joining Todd West Evangelistic Ministries in 2001, Doug served as Minister of Music and Youth at Faith Baptist Church in St. Charles, Missouri. He also served as Jr & S r High Choir Director at Tower Grove Christian School in St. Louis for two years. He served as the worship leader at Oasis Church in Maumelle, Arkansas for over 15 years. In June 2015, Doug returned to Missouri as the Associate Pastor of Music & Worship at Faith Baptist Church in Festus, Missouri. Doug's passion is to help congregations experience God and develop a lifestyle of worship as they use their gifts for the purpose of encouragement and discipleship. Doug and his wife Cindy have two kids: Saigel and Sennett. He enjoys the St. Louis Cardinals, home improvement projects, and using his gift of ventriloquism as a ministry tool. 4
