1 May 2017 Dear Camper, The Warhawk Bowling Athletic programs would like to thank you for your registration to this year s camp. We hope you will enjoy this session as much as our staff will and that together we can make this a rewarding experience for you. The close quarters that we live in, in the residence hall, will require your cooperation and assistance to make sure everyone has a positive experience. Be sure you review the enclosed camp rules and regulations carefully so that you will know what is expected of you. Please find the enclosed camp schedule. Be sure to review your list of things to bring, including bedding. The evenings tend to be warm, but occasionally it can be cool, so you may wish to bring an extra blanket or sleeping bag. You should definitely bring a fan for the dorm room! We do not have an air-conditioned dorm. Don t forget your pillow and towels, and a few wire hangers for your clothing. Bring an alarm clock to be sure to be on time each day. WE MAY GO TO THE POOL FOR AN ACTIVITY, SO DON T FORGET YOUR SWIM SUIT. 2 May 2017 Dear Parents: The Warhawk Bowling Athletic programs would like to thank you for your registration to the 2017 College Prep Bowling camp. Parents are invited to watch the campers demonstrate their skills on Sunday, June 25 at 12:30 pm at Warhawk Alley. Campers will be participating in a fun tournament at this time, followed by awards and some closing remarks. Check out begins at 2:00 p.m. All campers must be officially checked out at 3:00 p.m. STAFF: The staff of instructors is made up of very successful coaches from the college ranks. These coaches are very personable individuals and want to contribute to your child's betterment as an athlete and as a human being. HOUSING: The campers will be housed in Wells West, one of our University's residence halls, and our staff will also be living there during the week. HEALTH FORM: All campers are required to complete an online health form at least 5 days prior to the start of camp. Campers without a completed form on file will not be allowed to participate in camp activities: College Prep Bowling Health Form HEALTH SERVICE: Should your child require medical attention, an assessment will be made by the camp health supervisor and appropriate measures will be taken. FOOD SERVICE: During the camp, your child will receive three well-balanced meals each day. They are prepared by our University dietitian and chefs and will be served in Esker Dining Hall. Your child will be issued a meal card, which must be taken to every meal. Should the card be lost or destroyed, a new card will need to be purchased for $2.00. ACTIVITIES: Your child will have a very full daily routine. He/she will need a minimal amount of money that can be used for the student center, bookstore, or miscellaneous expenses. APPAREL: The camp will be packed with bowling, so be ready to bowl! For bowling we recommend wearing athletic apparel (shorts, t-shirts, capris, track pants). 3 GENERAL INFORMATION Check-In Check-Out Meal Bands Money Telephone Residence Halls 1:00 2:00pm on Thursday, June 22 at Wells West residence hall for all resident and commuter campers. 2:00 3:00pm on Sunday, June 25 after the tournament and awards Campers must be checked out of residence hall by camp staff member prior to departure. You will be issued a meal band at registration. The first meal provided by Bowling Camp is dinner, so be sure to eat lunch before you come. You must bring the band with you to every meal or you will not be granted entrance to the dining hall. If you should lose the meal band, a replacement can be purchased for $2.00; replacement cards are issued at Esker Dining Hall where you will be eating. You are responsible for your own money and personal articles. We feel you need a minimal amount of money that can be used for the student center, bookstore, or miscellaneous expenses. 5 CAMP RULES AND REGULATIONS These rules have been established to make this camp an enjoyable and safe experience for everyone. Any breach of these rules will result in the immediate notification to parents and the student will be dismissed from the camp. Students so dismissed will not receive any refund of camp fees. 1. Smoking, the use of alcohol and other drugs, firearms weapons or fireworks are prohibited. Parents will be notified and violators will be sent home immediately. There will be no refund of fees for violation of this policy. 2. All campers are confined to the University campus proper; any trips off campus require written permission from the parent and approval of the camp director or head counselor. All campers making off campus trips must be accompanied by a staff member unless written permission from the parent is provided. 3. Any damage to University property by campers will be paid for by the camper or his parents. 4. Campers are encouraged to have their own health insurance as limited accident insurance is provided by the University. University insurance coverage is included in your registration and covers you only while you are on campus and for camp-related accidents. If you are a commuter, this insurance will not cover you while you are traveling to or from camp. Camp insurance does not cover pre-existing injuries. 5. You will be given a meal band that you must bring to every meal. Lost or destroyed bands will be replaced at the dining center at a fee to the camper. 6. Campers are not allowed to enter any residence hall other than the one assigned to their camp. Boys are not allowed to enter girls rooms and vice versa. With the exception of check-in and check-out, no visitors are permitted in your room at any time. 7. Campers are responsible for their own money and personal items; the University and the camp are not responsible for lost items. KEEP YOUR DOORS AND LOCKERS LOCKED AT ALL TIMES. DO NOT SHARE YOUR ROOM COMBINATION OR KEYS WITH OTHERS. 8. There will be no hazing, taunting or teasing of other campers or guests on campus. Violators will be dealt with accordingly. 9. Meals are at 7:00 to 8:30 a.m., 11:30 to 1:00 p.m. and 4:30 to 6:00 p.m. daily. No arrangements are available for between meal snacks. 10. All activities will cease at 10:00 p.m., and the doors of the residence hall will be locked at this time. Lights out at 10:30 p.m. Camp staff will ensure that these limits will be observed. Bed check will be conducted at 10:30. Parents will be called if you are not in your room at bed check time.
6 11. No visitors are permitted in your rooms at any time. Only exceptions would be during check-in and check-out time. 12. Shirt and shoes must be worn in the dining hall. Please obey this rule! 13. These rules have been established to maintain a controlled, disciplined camp, and your cooperation is absolutely necessary.
