THIS ADDENDUM SHOULD BE INCLUDED IN BOTH OF THE RFPS. Where is the transfer switch to be located? The transfer switch needs to be located on the inside of the shelters. Where does the transfer switch disconnect? After the meter. There is an existing 12kW generator at the Amicalola site. Do vendors need to move it to another location? No. If selected vendor can move to the side, Dawson County Facilities can relocate generator. Will there be power at the location prior to generators being installed? Yes. 2 There is a daily parking fee at Amicalola State Park of $5.00/day. Will this fee be waived? Yes. When will fencing be installed? Fencing will be installed only after work is completed. Are ice bridges included in the shelter bid? See below for details and Revised Bidder s Response Form: Amicalola site: Yes Etowah Water Monopole site: No City of Dawsonville Water Tank site: No Labor to provide, install and ground Ice Bridge at Amicalola Site only* $ Does the County intend to move the meter box at the City of Dawsonville Water Tank site? Currently the meter is approximately 25 away from future shelter location. The County has not made that determination at this time. Vendors are to price out separately using the Revised Bidder s Response Form. Example of revision below. Cost to run connection to existing meter box at City Water $ Tank* Cost to run connections if County moved meter box to building* $ The bid reported no power interruption is allowed. Does this stipulation stand? At the time of generator cut-over, Dawson County understands there will be a power interruption. This event must be kept to a minimum and coordinated with the Project Manager, Sheriff and EMS. Regarding the warranty requirements in the Generator RFP, page 10, Dawson County is asking for 5 years comprehensive warranty to guarantee against defective material and workmanship in accordance with the manufacturer s published warranty from date of startup. Does this stipulation still stand? Dawson County is requiring full manufacturer s warranty as indicated in manufacturer s warranty guidelines. All warranty information must be submitted as an attachment to the Revised Bidder s Response Form. Vendors must show they are an authorized person to install generators under warranty specifications. Does the County have a preference of copper or aluminum connections? Vendors are encouraged bid using aluminum as long as vendor can guarantee materials are installed up to code. Regarding generators, will invoicing be permitted upon completion and final acceptance of each individual site? Yes. Note, Dawson County is NET 30 days. Bid# RFP 50kW Generators Addendum #1 Page 2

3 Do vendors need to register their out-of-county business license prior to bid award? No. Vendors must offer a copy of their current business license. Only after award, will vendors show the out-of-county registration from the Planning and Development Office. Will shelter and generator foundations be provided by Dawson County? Yes. Dawson County will provide foundations. Dawson County will hold a pre-construction meeting prior to beginning work.
