4 MCCARRAN FAST FACTS McCarran hosted 48.5 million passengers last year, making 2017 the busiest year in the airport s nearly 70-year history. The airport handles close to 133,000 passengers each day. McCarran was the nation s eighth-busiest airport in 2017, based on total passengers as ranked by Airports Council International. Globally, LAS was ranked No. 27 last year. Nonstop flights from close to 30 airlines connect Las Vegas with nearly 150 destinations, including cities in 15 countries outside of the United States. Nearly 1,500 employees work for the Department of Aviation and another 15,000 are employed by its airlines, concessionaires and other tenants.

5 AN INTEGRATED AVIATION SYSTEM Clark County operates a system of five airports McCarran International North Las Vegas Henderson Executive Jean Sport Aviation Center Overton/Perkins Field Key Goal: To preserve the limited commercial airspace that is only available at McCarran.

6 KEY FACT McCarran ranks among the busiest Origin and Destination (O & D) airports in the United States. Nearly 85 percent of McCarran s passengers utilize all aspects of the operation: roadways, check-in lobby, security checkpoints, baggage claim, etc.

8 ECONOMIC BENEFITS OF AVIATION IN CLARK COUNTY Aviation generates $28.4 billion annually including direct, indirect, and induced benefits. Clark County airports are responsible for 201,456 jobs including direct, indirect, and induced. Visitors arriving by air generate $24.5 billion in output, 179,502 jobs and $6.8 billion in labor income each year. Close to 80 percent of McCarran s passengers are visitors. Las Vegas hosted 6.6 million convention/trade show attendees in 2017, nearly 70 percent of whom arrived by air via McCarran. Las Vegas convention attendees generated a net economic impact of $9.8 billion in 2017 alone.

16 SOUTHERN NEVADA SUPPLEMENTAL AIRPORT IN IVANPAH VALLEY Clark County has identified the site of a secondary commercial airport that would be located on 6,000 acres of undeveloped land near the California-Nevada border, just north of Primm. An adjacent 17,000 acres would be transferred to County control upon receipt of a favorable Record of Decision following a comprehensive Environmental Impact Statement process led by the FAA and BLM. The Ivanpah Valley airport would support future air traffic at McCarran, not serve as its replacement. Timing for resuming the project remains under evaluation. C;

17 MCCARRAN HAS SET THE STAGE Terminal 3 was a $2.4 billion investment in Clark County s future, paid for by airport-generated revenue, not local tax dollars. With 110 gates and two stand-alone terminals, McCarran is poised to handle approximately 60 million passengers per year. Recent visitation trends suggest a need for 140 deplaned air passengers per year, per room, to maintain local occupancy rates in the mid-80 percent range. McCarran can handle expected Strip growth for the foreseeable future. Management is now focused on the further development of an airportwide culture to improve McCarran s customer service and hospitality standards.
